The topic in the WoA chat had me thinking, what are your favourite and least favourite classic maps?
By classic I mean not WoA and not Absolution, as that’s not a traditional one. By maps I would also exclude any tutorial stages and transitional non-target stages too since otherwise stuff like The Jungle God and Hidden Valley will just fill all the least favourite choices.
But do what you want. I’m not your mother.
As for my picks:
Top 5 (in no particular order)
Basement Killing
Invitation to a Party
Shogun Showdown
Meat King’s Party
You Better Watch Out
Worst 5 (again, no order)
Say Hello to my Little Friend
A House of Cards
Amendment XXV
I’ve just realised that I don’t actually hate any Contracts or H2SA target missions. The remakes in Contracts are weaker but I still like them.
Are we talking maps or missions/levels? Because to me, those two are different things (and arguably easier to distinguish in WoA due to the sheer amount of various content).
Maybe not the best maps in terms of gameplay but the vibes… Music, environment, color scheme. Vibes for days. Must count for something!
Best:
Traditions of The Trade (C47)
Anathema (SA)
Beldingford Manor (Contracts)
Curtains Down (BM)
Kowloon Triads in Gang War (C47) - a bit of a nostalgia wildcard, but it just nails the Hitman fantasy right away and lays the foundation for so much to come.
