Traditions of the trade, Alternative strategy?

There are a few things in the level that make me wonder if there is other ways to kill Frantz Fuchs and get the briefcase.

Frantz never seem to leave the room and is always in the shower, so most of the walk-throughs and strategies for this level involve:

  • stealing a master key from a bus boy
  • entering an adjacent room using this key
  • jumping over the balcony to room 202
  • kill Frantz and to steal the briefcase.

There are a few items and events in the level that make me think there could be another way, though I cant figure it out.

One of these things is the bus boy disguise. You can steal a bus boy disguise and get access to his room by bringing fresh towels, though they kick you out of the room very quickly, and in that time it is not possible to kill Frantz and steal the briefcase. So what is the point of the bus boy disguise? Seems like there is something more.

So what I have figured out so far:

  • When you just enter the hotel and speak to the reception, he says he can give you messages for a room, if you show him the room key.
  • I then take the bus boy disguise and towels to Frantz’s room.
  • In his room, I steal HIS room key, room 202. I can exit the room without incident.
  • Then I put my suite back on and go to the reception.
  • Giving him Frantz’s room key, he gives me a message. Something about a meeting with his brother.
  • ??? Not sure what to do from here, but it seems like something must be able to trigger this meeting and get Frantz to leave the shower.

Does anyone know if there is a way to trigger such a meeting? It just seems weird that the bus boy, room key and message events are in the level for no reason.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

There is not another sneaky way to get to him that I know of. You could try distracting his hallway guard but I don’t think that works at all.

The letter has nothing to do with the in mission stuff. There are 5 letters in that game. These letters tell the story of the original game “Hitman Codename:47,” and just like in C47, they appear in the H:C remakes.

If you haven’t read all 5 letters I encourage doing so. Actually you should try to play C47… but that can require an older PC. The story is interesting. I’ll warn you that ToTT is considerably harder in the original game.

We used to have a HMF member who said the game was meant to be played in a different order based on the content of the letters. It was like they wanted certain levels in a different order. He was insane but I believe him to be correct about that and I miss him.

Thanks for the explanation, so all those things are just Easter eggs for some back story.

I guess that makes sense, because I have tried everything I can think of but nothing seems to get Frantz out of the shower.

On a different note, is there something like a level editor that can be used to inspect levels to see all the events and triggers in the level?

Not that I know of. I have heard that was planned for the original game (C47) on PC, but it was either just rumour or if it was real it never came to fruition.

The only way i’ve found so far to make Frantz leave the shower room is to make him scared, like shooting weapons or go in front of himself so he runs away.

With some tricks you can even manage to make him move to a specific location but still, guards will be alerted and stuff.

Maybe some tricksters or speedrunners out there got another way of getting him out?
