TV Show Discussion Thread

Opus might be coming to TV!

And the official description.

Bloom County centers on a collapsed lawyer, a lobotomized cat and a penguin in briefs and fruit headwear living in the world’s last boarding house in the world’s most forgotten place deep in the dandelion wilds of FlyWayWayOver country. To wit, today’s America at a glance.”

Finally, some good fucking Russian Doll Season 2 news (and images)

What she will reveal is that the new season picks up four years after her character, Nadia, and Alan (Charlie Barnett) escaped a deadly time loop. The plot once again explores existential themes as the duo discover a fate even worse than dying over and over, when they must sift through their pasts via an unexpected time portal located in one of Manhattan’s most iconic locales.

“It’s for sure a puzzle box,” Lyonne, again, teases. “With my whole heart, I hope that people watch it all and see where the game goes and lands. I can’t believe we pulled it off.”

Russian Doll season 2 hits Netflix this spring.

I really enjoyed season 1 of Russian Doll. I can’t wait to see the next instalment.

Here’s some interesting news…

Stranger Things Season 4 is dropping in 2 parts. The first in May, the second in July.
Season 5 will be the final season.

I’m glad they finally confirmed it, because the world-building is getting a bit too wide, and this felt like the show Netflix would make 9 seasons of just for the hell of it.

I love how the poster indicates the groupings of the characters and their locations. On top, there are the 7 teens from Hawkins, on a wooden floor (Creel house, which is most of their part in story); on left, you see the confirmed California crew in the streets; on the bottom, there’s Eleven… But alone and in a lab. And the good old friends on snow (so we can conclude that neither of the kids are going to Russia).

I’m happy with both the release dates and the fact that it would end in season 5.

Correct. They also released seperate versions of each location.

They are, from top to bottom,

Russia, The Lab, Creel House, and California.

Finished up Reacher tonight. Such a good show. Damn good adaptation of a great book. Pumped for the next season!

Never read the books, but I really enjoyed the show. Binged it over last weekend. Maybe Jack Reacher is a bit too much of a power fantasy type character, but maybe he isn’t because damn if it’s not fun.

Total power fantasy. Highly recommend the books. Thrilling as hell and unputdownable, plus Reacher has an amazing dry sense of humour.

Yeah I remember watching the film with Tom Cruise and it wasnt even close to the books. I’ve been putting off the series for a while so that I could binge-watch them on a free day rather than have to wait. Think I’ll watch them soon.

I still enjoyed the Tom Cruise Reacher movies as Tom Cruise movies. The hilarious bathroom fight in the first one and the brutal final fight in the second one are worth seeing. But yeah, Alan Ritchson is a much better person for the role. I do feel he almost sounds and, in the face, looks like Cruise at times.

MovieS? I didn’t know there were two :joy: guess thats another addition to my list…

Yeah, the first was called Jack Reacher, based on One Shot. Second was Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, based on Never Go Back.

Canada is losing the Marvel Netflix shows after February 28th…
But Disney Plus Canada is gonna get all of them on March 16th so uh, ok.
(Probably gonna get moved to Hulu in the US too)

Anyone here watching Pam & Tommy? The Hulu series about Pamela Anderson’s leaked sextape.

Turns out, they’re moving to Disney Plus in the US, too.

Interesting. I’m starting to buy more and more into the idea that Hulu’s days are numbered.

That’s pretty interesting since Hulu is still readily available over there.

It doesn’t mention whether theyre getting the rest of the Star content on there, but if the Marvel Netflix content is the first, the rest might follow after.

I’m REALLY interested in how mature Moon Knight is gonna be now. I thought it was going to be a dark PG/14. But they still haven’t revealed the rating yet…? The proximity of this announcement looks very intentional. It’ll either be a hard TV-14 or dipping into TV-MA!

No. We’re not pulling back. There’s a tonal shift,” Feige said. The rating for Moon Knight has not been revealed yet; the series debuts March 30, two weeks after Disney+ introduces the new Parental Controls that include access to TV-MA programming.

Well with the Punisher, they’re putting him on Disney Plus Star on Hulu which is pretty much Disney R rated. They knew there was no chance for a PG version, and plus they got the Blade remake and possibly Deadpool in the works. It could be that Moon Knight will fit in that category.

I’m pretty sure all the Netflix shows will be imported in their normal, R-rated format, not just Punisher.
I was just confused if this means Disney Plus USA now gets the major adult Star catalog, or just the Marvel shows for now…

John DiMaggio has finally closed a deal.
Now to see if the writers have another good season or two under their belts.
