Wife and I burned through it. Season 3 gets a bit farther fetched than 1 and 2 but we enjoyed all of them. She liked it more than I, but it wasn’t a waste of time by any means. Entertaining enough.
Nice little breakdown, though the text cards go by too fast. Didn’t realise I had to pause so quickly.
-
I did not realise that was Will in the trailer. Damn, the guy’s face has really matured.
-
Based on casting news they’ve released, there seems to be a sub-plot involving a serial killer at a psychiatric hospital involved somehow. Could be a part of that prison transport.
-
Hyped for the new season, though I feel like it’s getting too big for its boots. The last one was packed with characters and plotlines, and we’re only getting more recurring cast members too
-
They’ve just released the title teaser. I was hoping for Spring [Break], but it’s Summer 2022 confirmed. Hope it’s earlier than later.
Stranger Things 4 | Title Tease | Netflix - YouTube
Edit: All the teasers so far if anyone wants context: looks ambitious.
Stranger Things 4 | From Russia with love… | Netflix - YouTube
Stranger Things 4 | Eleven, are you listening? | Netflix - YouTube
Stranger Things 4 | Creel House | Netflix - YouTube
Stranger Things 4 | Welcome to California | Netflix - YouTube
That is Victor Creel who you saw in the third teaser (killed his children). He’s probably the one that tells the kids something is in the house (third teaser).
Those 4 and another 10 are official, then we have at least 6 leaked cast members, i.e the Californian bullies (first thing in my video). In total I agree but consider the fact that previous seasons were happening in Hawkins and Hawkins only, This time we have Hawkins, Lenora Hills California and Russia. Let’s just hope it has the dark, horror vibes from season 1, not the partying of season 3.
A peace of leak also: Tom Wlaschiha aka Dmitri (the handsome soldier focused on for a second in 001) is a US spy in Russia, and is the one who sends the doll to Joyce for informing her about Hopper
So, just finished watching the first episode of Dexter: New Blood. Gotta say, they did a good job of making it feel seamless to the original series. It really feels like it’s just a new season with a time skip, not at all like it’s been eight years since they’ve done this. The reason for Dexter to get back to his old habits seems legit enough to me, and I can see how it will spiral for the rest of the series.
Only things I want to know off the bat are:
-
will Debra be the sole angel-on-the-shoulder for this new show, or will Harry make an appearance?
-
even if they don’t appear, will we find out what has happened to the other major characters in Dexter’s life from the first series? Hannah, Astor, Cody, Bautista, Masuka, Quinn?
Here’s hoping the show brings a conclusion that people don’t bitch about endlessly and unfairly like the last one. If you ever want to see a prime example of audience entitlement expressed through dissatisfaction with a finale, watch out The Sopranos, move over Lost, take a hike Seinfeld; Dexter is the reigning champion.
We just watched the first 3 episodes of the new season of Narcos Mexico. It’s good so far. Depending on how close the tv show sticks to the actual historical timeline, El Chapo should quickly become a more central figure of the show.
I know, right? And typically, animals have been shown to be afraid of him, because they recognize him as a predator, so this was really something.
Finally finished Black Summer Season 2.
Ugh, this show can be fun at times, but needlessly annoying in many others. Plenty of stupid character decisions, action set-pieces (just for the sake of having one) and frustrating writing. The saving grace is that some characters are really well written and acted, and some action is fun, plus it’s got fantastic one-shot cinematography, but that alone doesn’t make this show “good” most of the time.
At the very least, this season had a surprisingly amazing episode: “Episode 5: White Horse”, which was like an apocalypse twist on Waiting for Godot (I love that play). Long character monologues, backstories revealed, great use of mystery and metaphors.
“I’m posting this to Villain-stagram. There’s going to be so much epic FOMO.”
-Dr. Drakken, Kim Possible (2019, Disney Channel Movie)
I think that quote about sums up my internal pain watching the live-action Kim Possible movie…
Actors were okay, writing was silly (bit too much, hard to translate to live-action), and they messed with the status quo way too much. Boring fight scenes too.
Ah yes, and the Naked Mole Rat was indeed CGI.
Apart from that… I DID IT! After 12 years [give or take], I have finally seen the end of Disney’s Iconic animated series, Kim Possible!
Woo! What an ending. High stakes for a two-parter. Great surprising reappearances of characters, fun team-ups and nicely wraps up this high-school saga of KP.
Season 4 was especially cool with references to previous and ongoing continuity, with Drakken being in jail for the first third (after the events of the 2005 film), as well as an outfit change and plenty of neat villain team-ups.
Season 2, Episode 25.1 “Sick Day” is still the best (half-)episode of the show. 15 minutes of comedy gold and fun writing.
Anyone else looking forward to the final season of The Expanse?
I really love this show. It’s probably up there in my top 3 as far as scifi is concerned. I hope they’ll adapt the other books as well, but for now it seems like we’re at the end of the road.
Looks epic though.
Trailer:
Cowboy Bebop
I’m a fan of the original anime so of course I had to check out the live action version on Netflix and overall…I kinda have mixed feelings on it. There’s ten episodes that does a remix of storylines from the anime and I enjoyed it but the original is simply done better on all of them. There’s certain vibes and things that work good in anime but don’t translate well into live action and just come off as awkward or annoying, but I can’t be too hard on the show for trying to imitate the source material.
Spike and Jet are done pretty well in the series but Faye’s character is a bit different. She’s not the coy femme fatale con artist but instead is already a bounty hunter who comes off a bit too aggressive IMO. And as for Edward (one of the central members of the the crew) makes a two minute cameo at the end of the last episode. Supposedly her appearance will build up hype for season 2 but having her appear at the very end is a bad decision and really hurts the show. On top of that, she came off rather annoying.
There’s also some story changes with Vicious and Julia that I’m not too fond of like one of the heads of the Syndicate just so happens to be his father which just comes off as cheap to me. There’s also a twist with Julia near the end that comes out of fucking nowhere but I won’t go to deep into spoilers. All in all, I enjoyed the Netflix adaptation but the anime is better in every regard.
They don’t even exist and they beat us by 2 points with 2 minutes left in the game ![]()

I started Dexter: New Blood finally and so far it looks really tense and good. I’m very excited, especially considering how the ‘final’ season ended.
It looks like Mass Effect could come to Amazon Prime…
One of the company’s newest hopefuls in the arena is Mass Effect. Amazon Studios is nearing a deal to develop a series based on the best-selling sci-fi video game franchise from Electronic Arts.
“You will see us continuing to invest in fantasy genre of all kinds, we have a genre-focused team on the ground in Studios who work tirelessly with our creative partners on those slates, and you can look forward to more,” Salke said.
After watching the first 3 episodes now i think its fair to say they wont tackle the subject of old characters a lot.
And i think thats a good call. Its a mini series and you can only fit so much in ten episodes.
Pacing and tension are great here and i dont think convoluting the plot with old stuff is needed here. Maybe there will be a cameo or two. Who knows. But i dont see it.
Debra and Harrison working well as the bridge to the past.
It almost could be its own thing without prior knowledge of past series.
Oh and i cant wait for the next episode.
I just watched the first two episodes, then I dropped it. I think this live action is absolutly terrible at adapting the original source, and even as show itself, it’s nothing impressive.
What’s really bother me is that they botchered all the characters, there malinconic mood of the anime is gone, the dialogues are shitty, and the chemistry between the characters is totally different from the anime: honestly, when Spike and Jet are arguing on the anime it’s still enjoyable, but there are really annoying.
No comment about Vicious and Julia.
Honesty, I suggest to people to ignore this piece of garbage, and watching the original anime instead, that is still available on Netflix. That is the REAL Cowboy Bebop.
I’d still prefer to know what’s actually happened to those people. They were as much a part of why people watched the show as Dexter himself. Let’s get an update at least.
True Story on Netflicks!!!
Go watch it; put it on top of your list. It was so good. We turned on 1 episode and didn’t stop watching until we finished all 7 of them.
Anyone else who’s watching Dexter: New Blood, is it just me, or do Travis and Kurt Caldwell remind any of you of Jordan and Thomas Cross, both in behavior and appearance?
