It’s not just about that. The whole Diana betrays 47, no she don’t- bullshit, the constant who’s not playing any important role anymore- there are many things I dislike about the story. And about Lucas, I’m not mad that he died, I’m just disappointed how he died.
Well I think both ways fit, depends on who you ask
yeah, i’m only four levels in but i agree. still getting my thoughts together but i think it’s mainly because it feels a little rushed and certain developments are unearned more than anything. fortunately, the overall narrative of a hitman game is its least important feature (also its least important narrative feature) to me, and everything else has been glorious so far.
well, buckle up: i think h2016 actually has one of the best overarching narratives of any hitman game. it’s not what happens in it that makes it good, but how it’s told.
i dont agree 100%, obviously the Red Dragon Suit looks the best, absolutely beautiful. I would put the Devil Suit second, i think the Beldingford Outfit looks the worst out of the three, not really bad but… somehow plain and flat? its hard to describe but its nowhere the detail of the Red Dragon Suit.
As Vogt said himself in h2016 story was more of a background presence, so here is another unpopular opinion for you: hitman story is at it’s best when it’s just that, a background presence, or rather, when 47, instead of personaly involving himself in a grandiose spy war out of revenge for his stolen childhood, carries out his professional responsibilities, even if it means killing his long lost friend (Hitman 2 story still makes me cringe).
you’re preaching to the choir, chief
I dislike Berlin mission the most out of all the ttilogy. The map is good though.
Berlin felt like a fusion of “meat king party” and “a dance with the devil”. Majority of Hitman 3 levels are callbacks to previous games.
Careful, Mr. Ochoa is watching. Don’t say anything about C47 unless you’re praising the game
Blood Money, and not Absolution, was the point of Hitman franchise from which it all went to sh*t
in a scence that BM’s last mission provided new developers with freedom to misinterpret the character of 47 and Diana, making their relationship and respect for one another not purely professional in it’s nature.
up until h2016, i’d say blood money was peak hitman. absolutely nailed the level design.
BM’s last mission provided new developers with freedom to misinterpret evolve the characters of 47 and Diana, making their relationship and respect for one another not purely professional in it’s nature, thereby making them the most iconic power couple in videogame history.

Fixed it for you
Thanks, but io already did all the “fixing” for me and other fans of the series. Problem is, their take on 47 and the world of Hitman isn’t any better than what original games established. In fact, I think that none of what came before required any fixing at all.
Philip Rosch, Jane Perry and John Hopkins are better voice actors than David Bateson
The thing we need to keep in mind here is that the biggest “change” to 47 character happened 18 years, 3 months and 19 days ago. Nearly two decades have passed, 3 console generations have come and gone. A majority of the new players have never experienced these games. To that fact I wouldn’t say that it’s the same challenge he faced in Silent Assassin as he faced in this trilogy and especially H3. In SA he came to terms with him not being a child of “god”, being a perversion of a man who played god. This trilogy is about 47 coming to terms with being more then a tool ruled by the powerful. I think this ending is almost as powerful as the one we saw in SA.
I don’t agree but well done for using the thread correctly John Hopkins was great tho, really shined in his parts
I miss the ‘lower stakes’ storylines of the past. The whole illuminati thing has never resonated well with me as secret societies are a bit too ‘conspiracy theory’ for my tastes.
However I liked the SA missions where you’re effectively cleaning up after a crime lord’s dealings with weaponry, Contracts where you’re dying and think back over simpler contracts, and even Blood Money that is just doing hits while the ICA’s threat is sprinkled into gameplay subtlely (such as the surprise targets in You Better Watch Out etc) Not everything has to be 'the upper elites and world conquest is at stake; it can be as simple as ‘a family wants this guy dead because he lead to their son dying’
Torsten Michaelis is the voice of 47, at least in my head.
absolutely. i would generally prefer that too, but i actually love how of our time woa feels.
the whole secret society deal is just to give a face to power. honestly, given how powerless i’ve felt over the last four years, it’s quite a nice fantasy to indulge in.
