Unpopular opinions about Hitman

Just like how IO treats the classic games (except for BM which gets all the glory).

Letting me spend money on cosmetics that reference older games is how I get my fill.

Please IOI may I have some more.

It’s annoying that in contracts “optional” suit or kill conditions are not really optional if you want a good score. I shouldn’t be able to get SA but still only get 2 stars and 60K points because i didn’t kill someone with the fire poker in the library while dressed like Mr. Plum.
Optional by definition means: available to be chosen but not obligatory.

It’s fucking annoying as shit. If you’ll excuse my french.

While I agree that optional should mean optional, I suppose you are given the option of either doing the thing or not doing the thing. The flip side of your argument is that if you do go through the effort of doing the thing, shouldn’t you be rewarded with a higher score than someone who didn’t do the thing?

Since IOI didn’t add points for fulfilling optional objectives in addition to the hard requirements, that’s what we have I guess.

Eh, I think the only reason I’m so pissed about it is cause I have no idea how I’m supposed to melee someone with a freaking SMG. You can’t hit people with guns in this game. how in the motherfuck is that supposed to work?!?!!?

Sorry. It’s not you. I’m just annoyed.

I recall there being a featured contract in Hitman 2 that involved something like that. To ‘melee’ somebody with an SMG, you need to walk up behind them and press ‘Eliminate’ (like you do with a pistol). For some reason the game registers it as a melee kill (likely a bug).

That explains it. Then that bug must have been fixed because i tried that and I still got dinged for not “melee-ing” with the SMG.

man fuckit

I guess it doesn’t matter, but contracts that require bugs and glitches should have their own special category or something.

Which smg did you use in the featured contract? The unlocked one won’t cut it

I think I used the DAK X2 Covert. I think. I’m pretty sure.

Ah. You need to use a loud one from the level indicated by the briefing which talks about how loud one of the targets are

Diana Burnwood is an overrated character and I liked her more when she was just a voice (or an E-Mail).

I do miss how sassy she used to be, especially in Silent Assassin: “A friend? Have you gone soft, 47?”

She still has some sass, like when she says “is that a sense of humor, 47?..” in the first H2 cinematic

Hey, it’s all good. @Mini is free to be as wrong as she wants to be :stuck_out_tongue:

True, but nowadays, they definitely feel more like an old married couple, rather than two professionals toying with each other.

I don’t like the shortcuts that where introduced in H3, I don’t think this mechanic fits the series.

  1. It limits the level design, by removing obstacles.
  2. It’s immersion breaking.

I begun to notice this more and more as I play, I get quite annoyed when I run past a door which is wide open, giving you the option to simply skip big parts of the infiltration elements. It removes a lot of the tension for me, I find it directly immersion breaking that for example there is a open door that leads directly into the I.C.A secret data facility.

I do see why this mechanic could be popular with speed runners, since it gives you quick access to certain part of the maps. A workout around that would satisfy me, would be if there was an option to “close” them again. However after opening them once, they can be open from both sides, but to do so one would need a picklock / key card. Those who like them in their current version could simply just opt for the setting that keeps them open after you unlocked them once.

Is it unpopular opinion? I guess it’s very well popular

A lot of people think that Elusive Targets should become permanent. I don’t think it’s a good idea because then people would complain about them for the same reasons they complain about the Sarajevo Six and the Special Assignments
