Man, if I were IOI I would just straight out make it already, just because of you.
Get that IOI?
Do it.
My idea is to make explosives like Lil Flashy, but the head will be like the Twitch logo. The robot’s colors will be purple tones.
I also require a redesign of the coin, for example, the twitch logo will be engraved, and not just a flat coin.
I feel like entirely new items while they could be cool are extremely unlikely, and perhaps would actually not be welcomed by players who are anti-twitch.
Personally I would prefer new items through in game challenges, it feels more appropriate and more rewarding, I’m happy for twitch drops to stick with reskins making them more optional aside from pure completionism. I also would like to add to the idea of in-game challenges eventually coming out for missed twitch drops, much like what happened with the Stadia items, maybe 6-12 months after the initial drop (or whenever support for WOA starts to fully wind down).
However I do think things like this …
… and other items which are not massive gamechangers but somewhat nice to have are kind of ideal for this; it’s a good middle ground between an absolute-must super-fomo item and something completely superfluous like more coins. Things like that are also often one offs and some take a lot to unlock (screwdriver for instance requires 70 featured contracts so it’d be nice for players to have another easy unlock option for this). I also think items that are locked behind DLC would be a good choice as another option for new players/people who don’t want to spend the extra money.
Here’s my suggestions, with purple and non-purple options (excuse my lazy image editing):
(Banana is the only loadout item that can cause slipping currently; grapes fit the purple theme as @Floople suggested)
Note: if you add in a flash dart gun like this please actually make it red like the serpent tongue and change the Kalmer to blue like sedative (why is it red?)
(second is Soders’ robes; also works with the purple theming; I just like yukatas)
& some purple-only suggestions, still following the same principles but that I didn’t think warranted a normal alternative:
would have been ideal for Easter; perhaps add it as a reward for watching longer than the coin.
Also to reiterate other people’s opinions on the paid twitch subscription items: I think we would all rather you didn’t do that again.
I think he meant unlockable item and you can’t unlock grapes also I’m pretty sure the soap in places like dubai can also cause npcs to slip
That’s true I meant the only loadout item.
Also a very good point, I will steal that thought and amend my post.
I personally would like to see these (I’ll presume they would be purple - since that is the color of Twitch, but I am aware you are open to other colors):
-
47’s Signature Suit with black gloves with a Purple Tie
-
Purple Fiber Wire (I would prefer an actual Fiber Wire and not the earphones, but I’m not against the idea)
-
Purple Lockpick
-
Purple Sieger 300 sniper rifle (the one that plays “Ave Maria” when zoomed in)
-
Purple Hackl Leviathan sniper rifle
This is all I can think of at the moment (in terms of Twitch drops). If I think of any more, I’ll respond to this comment.
I would like the following items.
I left out the screwdriver, wrench, and crowbar since others have already mentioned them.
If there is a Purple Borer and Purple Coin, I think these are necessary as well.
If you have a bat, I thought it would be strange to not have a ball.
I personally would like to see this suit made purple.
This suit is a respect suit for past works.
I think it would be difficult to make this suit because it doesn’t exist in HITMANWoA…
A purple floppy fish. ![]()
Well, not completely purple. Still have the overall fish .png/gfx but with purple highlights.
I’m almost/kinda joking with ^that suggestion.
Here’s the real deal.
Twitch brand Purple Drank soda can
that can be used as a KO melee item… Or the thing that will make it stand out from mere reskins… A place-able item that can be poisoned and attract whichever NPC like the sedative gum.
Target NPC will see the can, walk up to it, say a positive affirmation phrase as they pick it up, then proceed to drink it. Poisons can be added via the in-game inventory (maybe?) , or have a poison prompt available after setting it down. However, I’m not sure how this would work if placed on the ground rather than on a surface that is at or near table height.
Feel free to rename it if that wordage would be deemed bad for some reason. But, of course, make sure it’s Grape flavored! ![]()
But what if you don’t poison it before placing it? Then it would act as a kind of distraction. The NPC will drink it for a good several seconds while you do whatever.
After that it will be placed back down and act as a normal soda can.
This might as well be electrophone 2.0. ![]()
It can be 3 things in 1.
- Melee item,
- distraction (if thrown, but why would you?) in that the NPC that spots it will go to it to drink from it for (maybe) 15 seconds, then it cannot be poisoned after that.
- Poison-able item as if it were a glass that could be poisoned after being placed down.
- There could be other uses depending on what you do with it… Poison, pick-up, throw… Profit(?)
But that might be too much.
Very quick and dirty rough draft pic added. The text could be tilted
![]()
COLA or
SODA or
POP
Just as long as the ‘O’ is the
symbol.
Edit2: IMO, would be funny if they said a positive affirmation after each time they lift the can to drink (when not poisoned). Because it’s just that delicious! ![]()
Edit3: I now realize that after it’s set down… If you have a poison prompt you can’t have a pick-up prompt… Unless you already poisoned it(?). So this might require some new/elaborate coding in how you can interact with it. So after it’s poisoned you can relocate it if needed.
Should do a purple version of the Black Winter Suit. Just to fuck with the players that don’t have the original. ![]()
It’s not your fault! ![]()
I hope if new Twitch weapons/items are coming, we can have them useable in Freelancer, very much like how the Trinity weapons and some DLC weapons were added in ![]()
I have unlocked the Purple duck and I would love to have it stored in the weapon crates with the other ducks in the Safehouse! ![]()
This idea of a Twitch Logo Coin/Lethal Throwable I had ages ago
New items. Don’t care for colour.
Perhaps something that’s not Purple but Exclusive. For example, the Aluminium Briefcase, the Black Winter Suit and even the ICA Coins.
Don’t think that everything must be purely purple is the right way for Twitch Drops to function.
P.S. @Marchouette Is there any update on the bug report I submitted last year? I noticed that you replied to it, but no action was taken.
purple eggplant
as no lethal weapon plz
I don’t think it would? The item isn’t overpowered because you get to use more darts, the item is overpowered because of its effects and the pervasiveness of the Sieker 1, as people consistently take it (or rather, did take it until the Durian completely superseded it). We actually already have three Kalmer’s in the game (the Taunton Dart gun, Kalmer 1, and Kalmer 2), but I suspect the reason people don’t use them together is because…
You’re also giving up inventory slots. Remember, you only have the pistol slot, briefcase and hidden stash that will let you bring those in, which does limit your options. Of course, the ease of use of the Goldbrick and Sedative Egg in the game makes this a moot point.
I don’t think making the gun easier to obtain makes it any more powerful than it already is, even with the extra ammunition you’ll get if you carry two in at once.
Sidenote: Back in H2, the dart guns actually shared their ammunition pool, though there was a bit of an inventory shuffle to get it to work, and only one dart would transfer at a time. H3 fixed this.
But emetic are already busted by the Durian and other Emetic Briefcase.
I shouldn’t need to say this, but adding more emetic items on the basis that we have busted items and strats anyway is pretty odd logic in my opinion. Yes, IO haven’t changed anything, but we probably shouldn’t be encouraging them to add more fuel to a very smelly fire.
That doesn’t seem like a healthy way to go about gameplay balance.
Honestly, yeah, I’m on-board with this. Consider that my request too. I love me some ragdolling, and it is quite funny to see targets and NPC’s get flipped head over heels when you headshot someone with it.
