That boss fight was so hard, I been trying to complete it for like 3 days, needed to kill around 15 clones, so hard bro
Inscryption is cool and tough.
End of Act 1 jitters
The game is at least committed enough to give you a spooky, mysterious experience to unravel, so it’s not too unforgiving with quitting the game mid-run then going back in at the last save point.
Even though it’s a roguelite, the game is very generous in that you can quit out to the main menu at any time, and restart the battle you were about to lose (sorry but I’ve done this, only discovered last night)
And also, the “random” elements and games of chance with the cards, aren’t really random? Or, at least can be predicted on a restart.
I made it to the “final boss” last night, and figured out that the initial “boon game” features the same random cards to pick from, so it can be cheesed if you know what’s the right option.
However, I did manage to soft-lock my own demise last night?? Seems like I’m either not playing the game right, or you can really mess yourself up with what’s in your deck.
I took out the boss’ 1 of 3 health, made it to the second phase, then got to a point where I could not play any cards, because I had nothing to sacrifice, and ran out of squirrels. leaving me in a state where I could only get hit and lose… Wow that sucked. But a little eye-opening?
EDIT: Okay well I beat Act 1!! Didn’t try to cheese him this time (though I used some evil tactics in-game) That’s the “Final Boss” dead, and now I’m greeted with… a file browser of videos?? Ooh here comes the wacky meta weirdness of Daniel Mullins… I wonder if this is about to turn into some “Her Story” spoof – I’ve heard Act 2 is a big departure and is divisive among fans…
Edit 2: Okay, not that…
Edit 3: Took about 2 more hours today, but I beat Act 2 now!
There is definitely some whiplash in what the game throws you into, how it evolves and changes drastically from the fairly simple initial “area”. But I actually grew to like it, and it’s where a lot of the creepy meta undertones of the game start to bleed in.
I didn’t know about it until I accidentally stumbled upon a list, but there’s plenty of secrets to find, special cards to gain, and hidden easter-egg foreshadowing to find, so I spent a good while hunting those down. I also beat the “final boss” of that section in a total 2-move fluke apparently, I’ll talk more about this later.
Act 3 of Inscryption is cool but tough, again. Probably the toughest so far.
To put it vaguely –
you don’t need to reset your deck-building every time you die thankfully. However the battles are all static, very specific in how you must complete/survive them. You face the same cards (sometimes in a different order) but you need to clear them to go further into the map.
Your opponent is obsessed with perfect strategy and hates RNG, so I guess it makes sense from that view.
Also, in terms of story, oooh, man
This stage of the game this late at night is not good.
Just reached the point
where The Card Man playing this game (seen through video clips) has discovered the mysterious death of a QA tester for the game (her name appears numerous times in the game) and is seemingly being stalked by the game or the game company late at night.
Also the unsettling corrupted video clips REALLY don’t help the vibe right now ahhhhh
God this game is starting to become an interactive video game creepypasta (but I don’t like creepypasta tho)

If there’s one good thing I just faced a boss that pulled off the biggest 4th wall breaky moment of the game so far, very cool to see. I’ll post screenshots of what I mean later. Goodnight and I hope the ghosts don’t haunt me.
I ordered PS5 Console on Amazon and it will arrive by tomorrow.
Now I am not able to decide which game should I buy first and need your voting support.
The online critics are confusing me and it is best to take public opinion ![]()
I am a hitman gamer and my taste of games are like you all, hence need your support.
I trust the developers (studio) behind the games -
- Deathloop - Arkane Studios (makers of Dishonored)
- Returnal - Housemarque (I never played their games before)
- Gotham Knights - WB Games Montréal (makers of Batman Arkham Origins and City)
- Horizon Forbidden West - Guerrilla Games (makers of its previous installment)
- Spider-Man: Miles Morales - Insomniac Games (makers of its previous installment)
- Hogwarts Legacy - Avalanche Software (makers of games of animation movies mostly on 2010s)
- Ghostwire: Tokyo - Tango Gameworks (makers of Evil Within, but I never played them)
- Any other, please comment below

I already have played God of War Ragnarok, Dark Souls, Bloodbourne on PS4.
So these games are skipped.
bloodborne, demon’s souls remake. also wb games montreal didnt make arkham city, they only made arkham origins.
WB Montreal made the Wii U port of Arkham City, the definitive version of City imo. They added a bunch of uses for the gamepad, armored skins for Batman and Catwoman, and a precursor to what would be the shock gloves in Origins
Demon Souls need I say more?
The first game you should play is already installed on your PS5: Astro’s Playroom. A real cute little platformer game that shows off all the neat controller features.
Watching a Star Wars Jedi Survivor- tips and tricks video. One of the first tips is not to explore right away.
My reaction

It’s outrageous, it’s unfair!
I am finished Inscryption
That was quite the finale
Ooh wow, okay, I’m gonna try to quickly review this with as little spoilers as possible.
If you’re a fan of deck-builders, roguelites, spooky lore, some meta weirdness and don’t mind if the game switches the rules up on you multiple times, this game is for you.
It starts out as a dark atmospheric card game – lay your cards on the table, some must be sacrificed to play new ones, and deal more damage to your opponent than he does to you.
But what comes next is a spooky adventure through the game’s “code”, as more of its lore starts to reveal itself, characters’ backstories deepen significantly, and multiple points where the game begins anew, in a totally different/differently-looking way.
The game is made by Daniel Mullins, who has developed a bit of a reputation with his games that delete parts of themselves, or use some of your computer data in fun ways. Most of that latter part doesn’t reveal itself until Act 3, (and it fits with the theme) but when it happens it’s pretty cool (if a bit creepy).
Kinda makes me want to play DokiDokiLiteratureClub, as I’ve heard plenty about its freaky data-mining horror experience – but also anime horror is too terrifying of a mix IMO…
There’s also an interesting framing device for this “game” that you play, which was a little forgettable, but offers some tense & intriguing moments… especially towards the end…
There’s an endless roguelike mode you unlock post-game, that returns the game to its Act 1 mechanics, so I’m sure I’ll have loads of fun with that.
Really great experience, I might replay Pony Island soon, since I forgot most of that game’s quirks except for the plot.
Heavy Spoilers and Praise
Act 2 where the game transforms into an RPG overworld with an entire new card collection was some serious whiplash. I can understand why it would turn some players off of it.
Thankfully I mostly got by with decks the game arranged for me. If you mostly stick to 2 classes, things go okay. However the pace does indeed slow down a lot, there are a lot more text boxes to click through in a battle…
Act 3 where the game shifts into a Sci-Fi edition of the original act was pretty cool and a lot longer than I expected.
The game loses some of its allure, though it’s a conscious choice, as P03 is way more concerned with playstyles, deck-building, and perfect gameplay, than he is about lore or atmosphere.
The game can get really tough with what you’re dealt with on the first turn – and I found myself having to die and repeat battles just to get a better starting hand. But, it can be done, I’m sure there’s some amount of playtesting/prediction on what the “best route” in a battle is.
The 4th wall breaks involving Your PC System was cool. Having to find a folder of great size to tip the game scales was neat. Then the kicker of finding an old file, and it being held hostage under threat of deletion if you lose it was tense AF (I found out it wouldn’t delete it, but adds a text file next to it, asking you to do it yourself to respect the rules) Plus I’m sure it limits what files can be displayed, so you don’t offer up anything too crucial in your system – I looked into my Ubisoft Games, and only found one tiny file. (from Splinter Cell: Conviction)
The boss battle that accessed the Internet was also neat, in that it brought over your steam friends. That was cool to see. It also receives/sends out a card, but apparently that only works if there’s another active person on that same battle at the same time, and there wasn’t for me…
The others were a little less 4th-wall-breaky but I enjoyed the twists the Screenshot and the Rule-Making bosses offered.
And then there’s that ending… holy moly on a hot dog!
Nice bittersweet moment seeing the game “delete itself” and the characters you’ve seen, little by little. I’m sure a lot of that was scripted, but it was still a neat meta moment, especially with how it followed the themes of “dark, secret, hidden code” in the game files, and the characters in the game having gained sentience, eager to stop fighting and die with the rest of the cursed game.
Ohhhh… it really is cursed… as in the final moments, as Luke decides to speak to the press about this secret copy of the game – the company rep appears at his door again and shoots him in the head, leaving his lifeless body just off-camera… Jesus… What kinda drove me to continue the game recently was this similar news article people drew vague comparisons to and uh yeah that seems pretty accurate. ![]()
Playing some more of Sifu’s arenas mode (though its been a while)
The challenges in the maps are pretty challenging (if you want to receive medals to unlock further arenas), but it’s a great time to just have a focused area to whoop bad guys’ butts.
And I can even kind of button-mash, since all my skills are unlocked, so I’m bound to string together a few combos, and sometimes I feel like a martial arts badass ![]()
It really sucks that there isn’t a way to save recent gameplay as a Video Replay for the replay editor, or use Photo Mode in the arenas. Some of those badass moments would be cool to capture cinematically, and the arenas themselves are pretty to look at!
I’m still fairly new playing Sifu myself. I think I played through the first two stages about five times each. Not only just to get the hang of things but I’m also trying not to kill the final bosses, which is a bit of a pain in the ass. I already know you’re suppose to break thier structure bar twice in order to get the option but thier health tends to deplete before that happens. I might just say fuck it and just murder the bastards instead. I’m loving this game, so glad it came to Xbox. ![]()
Finally beat Jedi Fallen Order after a very troubled history with it and I’ll say that after getting force abilities I enjoyed the game a lot
more and overall really ended up enjoying Fallen Order. Time to move to Survivor.
@Khakiasp
After dinner tonight, I decided to go back to the RPD… And I made sure I had a plan for every step of the way.
Call it cheating, but I wanted to be outta there in the least amount of time possible. I looked up safe codes, medallion codes, floor plans, item locations, all to be in-the-know of everywhere I needed to go.
I knew I needed to trigger Mr. X outside the Stars Room last, and here is that inevitable chase… I got so, so lucky.
(Also wtf the dude takes a grenade shell to the face and shrugs if off, but a flash grenade catches him off guard?)
At least I have all the medallions now and next time I just have to make it to the main room without dying ![]()
(I was going to stream it tonight, for anyone or no one – just to have some digital semblance that I’m not experiencing it alone… but I got sucked in quick and forgot lmao)
I wouldnt call that cheating, i did that also hehe
Also the stars room counts a saferoom for mr.x so he cant go in there.
Overall really proud you made this much progress so fast, i dunno when you decide to play birkin 1 but my tip is. Knife him to save loads of ammo! He’ll get staggered easily if you knife his eye
I’ve progressed further into RE4 2nd run and I’ve gotten to the second visit to the police station. (It happened a lot quicker than I expected!)
Anyway I’m stuck in this small corner of the station, Mr. X is patrolling up the nearest stairwell, and the only way back into the main station is that damn stairwell and balcony. It was a mistake to backtrack and get cornered here again…
Aahhhhh
![]()
EDIT: okay I made it out of that corner and got to the stairwell safe room. I need to finish the Lockers keypad to get more inventory, I desperately need it. Hope I can do that tomorrow without dying of fear
Felt my heart leap out of my chest as X caught up to me in the main hall, then I came across a new Licker waiting for me in the corridor by the safe room. Jeez.
Also btw I used up some decent ammo for birkin 1… tried to knife him, but he grabbed me a coupke times, had to sacrifice it to escape and kill him.
I am very happy to announce that after 17 years I finished the GTA Vice City story for the first time.
I started playing it when I was 14 and for one reason and another I always reset the whole main story and never got too far, not even somewhere half the story.
Today at 31 I did it. I said to myself no! I will play this from start to finish with no long breaks. I think I will grab next San Andreas or go again for GTA 4.
I was hoping for a remaster edition of GTA 4 for PS5 but it seems pc have to do for now. I finish that one as well together with San Andreas but many many years ago. I wasn’t even in my 20’s.
Just finished Jedi Survivor, took me about 40 hrs to do so. Really good game, but I think I liked the first games story better.
Survivor has some really uninteresting Antagonists and none of them comes even close to Trilla.
