Well so long as you do that and some of the other camps, hunting grounds and the like you should be OK. Ubisoft fixed a lot of the progression after the controversy over the boosts.
I played the Division 2 after months of letting it sit. The 4K/60 Series X patch seems to be decent. It’s still lipstick on a pig.
The gameplay is good but looter shooters are asinine. YMMV.
I also did all the side quests and never felt like I was grinding aside from all the looting achievements. fuck those, especially the underwater one
Same here except if side quests are all repetitive and have no story.
Last AC I played was Rogue, and I had a genuinely hard time finishing the side quests simply because there were so many of them compared to the main story missions (not to mention they were painstakingly repetitive). Not to mention I’m really not a fan of the North American setting (one of the reasons I have been and will be avoiding ACIII)…
Unity and Origins have been collecting dust in my library for almost a year or so as well, and while I was hesitant about buying Unity (revolutionary France ain’t my cup of tea either), I’m really looking forward to Origins for the ancient Egypt/Rome setting. Same/even more for Odyssey, though I’ll have to completely forget I’m playing an AC game with that one…
Honestly Unity blows. The map is cluttered with shit and not in a good way, the main story is just terrible at worst being forgettable at best and the overall depiction of the revolution was like a grade five textbook perhaps even worse.
Ah, ok… Well, I bought it mainly because it was cheap and just in case I feel like goofing around revolutionary Paris or having more variety in my open world games (as if I don’t have enough already). Will see when I feel like giving it a go.
Honestly you are better of playing III, it actually strove for a more balanced representation of the American Revolution and the numerous people behind it. It also has decent gameplay, good enough story and more important it was the last game to have those platformer challenges like the Romulan Tombs and the Assassin Crypts. I loved the fuck out of those.
Actually, as I mentioned, that one doesn’t appeal to me at all. The American Revolution doesn’t interest me as a backdrop at all, I find Connor an uninteresting if not outright annoying protagonist (from what I’ve seen in playthroughs; Haytham on the other hand would be a different story), and I don’t enjoy the forest areas or layout/architecture of the American cities in that period (I assume they’re the same as in Rogue). Not to mention the standard version isn’t on Steam ever since Ubisoft released the remastered/enhanced one (which to me is just the same shit but with bigger HW requirements). And while I enjoyed the tombs in the Ezio trilogy, I’m not sure I would the ones here. So yeah, I might play it eventually, but not any time soon…
Oh those are all valid points or at least reasonable ones. I am not going to force you to play something you clearly have engaged with but not enjoyed. For what it is worth also wished Haytham was the main character (same for Rogue, I didn’t like Rogue).
I’m only about 5 hrs or so into Prey and I actually really enjoy it.
It is so desolate. You really feel alone. It’s not a horror game for sure but one certain part made me jump and I haven’t flinched during a game since one of the Resident Evils. Goddamn I did not see that coming lol. “CALIBRATE SCREEN”
it’s so good. it gets better as it goes as well.
i think the gloo cannon might be one of the best video game weapons of all time.
REINSTALLED GTA EVEN THOUGH I SWORE I’D QUIT

It do be like that sometimes…
I HAVE 2124 HOURS SUNK INTO IT PLEASE HELP
Got back into Far Cry lately, New Dawn at the minute, waiting for AC: Valhalla DLC, not been playing Hitman as much lately, still got to do the Collector ET
I’ve been going back to a couple of old favorites.
Assassin’s Creed Chronicles is everything I wish the main franchise was: short, focused on stealth and without any annoying trips to the present. It’s not quite as good as Mark of the Ninja, but I love the art-style and I’m finding Plus Hard difficulty challenging but doable, though I just started India and they’ve removed enemy viewcones which will take some getting used to.
And I’m playing Mooncrash. I’ve played through Prey a half dozen times, but it’s only my second time with Mooncrash and I forgot how much you can get your ass handed to you the first couple of loops, before you have access to some of the key things you need. But after that, things open up so much and the randomized hazards and enemies make sure you have to keep adjusting your plans. Plus, the Mule Operator they give you to store your items and transfer them between characters amuses the hell out of me.
ACII and Brotherhood were the only ones that had a good present time portion. Good characters (even Shaun in II) with decent dialogue between them that felt like real people were talking and not robots. Shame they decided to milk the franchise to no end, fire the original creator and make a mess of the whole thing
I’ve just finished playing Donut Country. It’s a really fun game that is available on just about every platform.
I am playing Ratchet And Clank for the first real time (played like an hour back in 2013 or so on my brother’s PS3 copy).
I bought the trilogy on my Vita years ago and now I’m putting it to good use. Sure I could play this game on a TV but damn lying down in bed with a Vita is ultimate comfy. Game is really good and looking forward to the sequels which have less infuriating combat apparently.
