What Videogame(s) Are You Playing?

Well at least you are cutting down your backlog. I gave up on the game after I reached Point Dionysus, I just started playing Infinite again at that point or you should just skip to Minerva’s Den.

Playing Mass Effect Legendary Edition. Started on ME2 because that was my favorite and it’s pretty refreshing. Probably gonna do ME3 next and ME1 last.

I started on ME1 and now I’m stuck on the thresher maw section. Jfc the Mako is as bad as the legends say :sob:

Gotta keep momentum and continue moving. There is more than one maw in the game. When they do their acid attack just boost out of the way.

I recently got The Lego Movie Videogame, just because I wanted a fun, simple, little Lego game, and those are usually solid titles to play.

  • I’m only a couple levels into the game, but so far it’s a pretty well-done movie tie-in. It uses scenes from the movie as cutscenes and intersperses gameplay segments every now and then.
There’s good choices of what scenes to remove or skip in favor of gameplay, as it follows the story along pretty nicely, just giving you more agency and game elements to it.
  • The best part is that the cast from the film voices their respective characters, so there’s plenty of fun new dialogue and banter during gameplay that doesn’t exist in the film.
  • The game design is pretty neat and unique for a Lego title, since it’s the first game to look like it’s been entirely made out of Lego (as the film’s design goes for too). The characters all move within the constraints of a real minifigure and have a stop-motion-like effect at times, too.
I do think the lighting and detail could have been improved. Everything is so bright and glossy, very basic lighting. Whereas in many of the film cutscenes, it’s gorgeous, detailed, real-looking. I feel like the 8th generation of consoles could have achieved something close to that.
  • The sound-mixing in cutscenes is pretty great, since the dialogue is front-and-center. But, they removed a lot of the original score and a few sound effects, so they feel really incomplete.

Hey, my first ever console game!

I asked for an Xbox but got a PS4 instead along with that game. Glad you enjoyed that small piece of my childhood!

I’ve always considered that akin to blasphemy haha. I agree with you on ME2. It’s my favorite as well. But I NEVER start a fresh playthrough skipping ME1. I especially wouldn’t with the Legendary Edition, considering all of its changes to ME1. And if you start with ME2, you miss several important decisions in 1. I know the Genesis DLC covers some or most of that, but I never want to use that.

Though, I will admit, I have imported prior ME1 playthroughs into 2 if I want to “half start” a new playthrough and only change who I romance, for instance. I love ME1, but if all I’m changing is my romance option, I’m not going to deal with the damn Mako again haha.

Sadly most if not all those choices don’t make a particularly big difference ME3. Kinda another reason I don’t mind postponing ME1. Not that I’m trying to dig up old wounds. :slightly_smiling_face:

So would you guys recommend getting the ME Legendary Edition? Mass Effect is something I’ve wanted to jump on but never found the opportunity. Granted, it might be a while til I get around to it anyway, I’ve just started Persona 5 Royal and got a bunch of other games lined up, but maybe in a sale in the future?

I am slowly getting dragged back into Old School Runescape, there is a famous saying that no one ever quits Runescape, only ever takes breaks

I got a couple of games for my birthday, Nier: Automata and Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far. Done the prologue on Automata, it’s good, I like this. I’ve tried before to get into games by Platinum but it hasn’t worked so far. Hoping to maybe make a change here, we’ll see. Kingdom Hearts should be fun when I get around to it.

I’m also playing some Wreckfest on the side which I got with PS+. Really enjoying it, you can feel that Flatout influence since this was made by Bugbeat. Definetly scratches my itch for arcade racing. The demolition derbies are wonderful and some of the weirder challenges are just awesome. How about a 3 lap race where you drive a school bus against 23 three wheel vans, and you’re encouraged to wreck as many of them as possible? Hilarious.

I’m thinking of getting Kingdom Come: Deliverance on Steam since there’s a pretty neat discount. @EvilGeniusRo you’ll probably know this - are any of the DLCs worth it to get the Royal edition (or whatever it’s called), or is it better to go for the base version? I mean the price difference isn’t that big, but still…

I think they’re all decent and add a nice chunk of content over the base game :stuck_out_tongue:
Go for it if it’s not a huge difference in price.

I just beat my first thresher maw in ME1 and I almost went out and bought myself some bubbly. Those things are fucking bastards!

Good to know. Cheers :+1: (if only Ubisoft games were this easy to decide on DLC-wise :joy:)

While buggy, KCD has tons of awesome moments in game and makes you care for many characters

SPOILERS (ME2):Funny because in the second one you do fight one on foot and potentially win.

Can’t wait to hear all those mispronounced kurvas :+1:

And hoping to have as much fun as Zanny:
