Yeah, it’s a great game. It is very similar to Mafia: The City of Lost Heacen on PC. It has it’s flaws though. Not having a hud, relying on your car’s blinkers to know where you have to go, bad car physics, most driving sequences having a timer and how you have to wait 10-15 seconds near a wall to recover your health really hurt the experience.
Everything else like the graphics, level design, cutscenes, plot, voice acting, gunfight sequences and soundtrack are all top notch. Nothing like clearing a room of thugs and Mark saying “muppets”.
I finally bought Hitman: Enemy Within a few weeks back. Its a birthday present. I’m three chapters in and I’m loving it already!
I really enjoyed the N64 wrestling games. There was a WCW/NWO one and then another WCW one before the league folded and eventually the same company made a WWE one called no mercy. The controls were grapple based so you would do either a weak or a strong lock up and then you had 10 or 12 options of moves without any complicated combos to remember. It didn’t look like wrestling on tv bc of all the grapples but it was really fun.
Yeah, I know of it. Even to this day it’s considered one of the best of the wrestling games. I’m still impressed how a 64mb cartridge can fit so much content like No Mercy had ![]()
The PS2 era WWE games are also easy to pick up and play since it’s not combo based and that’s why I find them really enjoyable ![]()
I also have fond memories of “Bio Freaks” by Midway…damn, the good ol days…
Unironically one of the most impressive GBA games from a technological perspective.
Still need to get the DS version which is also very impressive.
Not really my last purchase, but the last relevant to me: 2 original german Godzilla Posters, one from 74 and one from 91, they are in fantastic condition ![]()
Framed them
The Min Min Amiibo is available to pre-order now. Still no word if Sora will get an Amiibo figure like every other Smash fighter.
You’ll love it. I always laugh if I am a week or two behind on changing the filter. When I finally do it the water tastes much better. You don’t notice it going downhill bc it’s little by little but it’s fixed all at once and very noticeable. I’m sure you’ll have this experience at some point. Even the most diligent of us get lazy with stuff like that.
Better for environment too.
Bought a used copy of The Dark Knight Returns
I can’t remember if I read it, I know I seen the animated version.
Just avoid the three or so sequels Miller wrote.
Are they horrible or just not as good? Can you recommend Batman Earth One or Court of Owls?
yup, theyre shite, both in art and story.
but im probably a bit biased as im not a fan of the way miller, especially in his dark knight stories, writes and portrays batman
Earth One? No, I haven’t heard anything good about it. If you mean Year One (an honest mistake) then yes I can, it is perhaps, the only Miller work I hold in high regard even if it is mostly Mazzuchelli’s art that appeals the most.
Court of Owls is perhaps one of the few Snyder era stories that is also some of his best. The art is good even if DC killed the idea of the books having varied art at the time and the Court are good villains. I never rate it as high as some Batman fans will but it is a good read, I will say that from what I have heard if you liked The Batman then I would recommend you this.
Both, they drop in quality on every measure and they just aren’t all that great in a vacuum. I guess (and if I remember right) Golden Child has Greta Thunberg beat up Darkseid. If you think that is good as a novelty then buy it.
No, I’m not referering to the Frank Miller comic from 87, but Batman Earth One by Geoff Johns.
I think that will be on my reading list, when I finished the last two Witcher books and the Library edition of the Witcher comics.
Yeah okay, that sounds well. shit.
Oh well I haven’t heard anything good about it, I personally have never read it so I can’t say anything more about it. I recommend you get Year One if you don’t have it already.
Yeah it makes slightly more sense in context and a little bit more when you grasp the insanely obvious metaphor Miller is using.
The Dark Knight returns is a good one off Comic Book story by Frank Miller that basically has a unnecessary continuation of the story that being the sequels to it. In my opinion it ultimately ruins what makes TDKR good and ruins the arc Batman/Bruce goes through.
