Store Manager is a pretty rubbish job if you ask me. They get an actual salary rather than on a zero hour contract, but they only get £1,900 a month and must do a minimum of 48 hours, with some shifts being mandatory each week. If you do the maths, that is less than £10 an hour. It seems our chain tries to encourage our Store Managers and Assistant Managers with a bonus system, that rewards them with cash bonuses if the store achieves targets like sales figures, keeping our labour down to a certain percentage, etc. But that seems only really achievable if your store is adequately staffed and at the moment no store in Edinburgh is, so…

As of today I’ve finished every map 100 % again. Did this already in H2, now also for H3 (there were a few story missions missing after the transfer). Now I just have a few more older FC to finish with 5 stars, about 15 or so. Finished every one of them in H2, too.
To spice things up a bit I decided to play the whole story again. But starting every map without loadout. While going for the targets I try to KO as many NPCs as possible – for at least as long till I get bored. Then I’m going for a fibre wire kill. Hoping there’s some tool for this in at least most of the maps. If there isn’t a fibre wire (or equivalent) I’ll go with a loud shotgun kill. Should be fun!

Yesterday I found out that a concert was canceled by a band that I really like. The whole tour was canceled. All because of Corona. It just sucks 
the concert was supposed to take place last year, but it was postponed until this year and now they have finally canceled it completely. I get the money back for the ticket, but I would have preferred a new appointment 
I’m just a little sad, I would love to go to a concert again

I’m in a similar situation with a concert. Lady Gaga postponed the 2020 tour bc of Covid and then when summer 2021 hit she postponed again so now we’re waiting till 2022. If she cancels we will get some of our money back as we would be entitled to the face value of the ticket, but we paid over face value for the tickets from a 3rd party so we would be stuck eating the difference.
Fingers crossed that both our bands go out on tour in 2022 (-;

After a process that began late last year, I received a call that starting next year, I’ll be moving to Rome in the service of my government. I GOT THE JOB! You know, the one I’ve been posting occasional updates about in this topic.
I don’t know what to do with my excitement, it’s just so hard to believe this is actually going to happen! As I’m typing this I’m still not fully wrapping my head around the idea.

Well, I have a new boss at work. Our old Store Manager quit on Friday seemingly out of the blue, but at the very least whatever happened behind the scenes must have been going on in advance as we got a replacement on Monday. Seems like a nice guy, he’s just been promoted from an assistant manager, one of those guys who wasn’t assigned to a single store but was sent around various stores, basically filling in whatever shifts were needed. So the fact he gets to run a single store is a real upgrade for him. Wants to give us our rota in actual advance, holy crap. Our last manager seemed to really struggle with giving us the rota in advance and genuinely didn’t seem to understand why people kept getting pissed off when they got told their hours less than a day in advance.
Just really hoping this new guy is good and means less BS overall in the store really, something we’ll need as November and December can be the 2 worst months of the year for us.

The past couple of days the temperature dropped to/around the mid 40’s (F). Whenever there is a drastic temperature change I tend to have trouble with my sinuses. I don’t even have to get cold myself - it can all be outside and I will still be affected. There have been years in the past where I’d get a bad headache just from the sinus pressure. At least it subsides after a few days.
And in other news… I got robbed. I was at work last night training this guy that’d work a couple of evenings and on my nights off. One other coworker of mine is having to go into surgery and will be out for a couple of months until she can come back. This is why we are… or were bringing him on.
So, after I got off work this morning I go over to the store to buy a few items of food. I spotted something that I debated on getting… Then I checked my wallet to see how much I had. Hmm! Very strange that I’m missing a bunch of $20 bills that I’m certain I had in my wallet last night (it was every $20 bill missing). I went by Taco-Bell before I went into work, paid with a $20, a $1, and some change. If that would’ve been my last $20, I would’ve made a mental note about getting more money later.
So, when I got home, I called my boss and had her check the security footage around such a time when this new guy was alone (I was in another Rm working). And sure enough, he was caught on camera going through my things. Now he’s fired.
And he was doing pretty good on picking up/learning things. Seemed smart. `Guess he wasn’t that smart after all.
