Best reference award should be invented just because of that reference you just made! Awesome! I can hear the jaunty tunes now.

Thank you :joy: i often have “Welcome to Crocodile Isle” stuck in my head, and i whistle it regularly during work :smile:

Also it took me 20 years to realize that “K. Rool” stands for “cruel” lol.

You did get the “Kong Quest” pun in the game’s title though, right? That one took me roughly the same time.

Quick! While there’s still time!

Take a picture of an emetic poisoned drink, and say: “Have a great St. Patrick’s Day!”

Most US presidents put clovers in their pocket for Paddy’s Day. I think Ireland actually sends us some every year, but I love that Biden (only our second Catholic president ever) also has a ridiculous holiday tie :joy:

Went out and voted today. My brother’s first time voting as well and I am all but certain he just did a donkey vote.

EDIT: Nah, he voted for Labour.

sure, and i sympathise. but do that knowing the people in power would prefer you didn’t vote. disillusionment isn’t a bug, it’s a feature.

Over here when there’s really no good option, people just go and vote for Vlad the Impaler :laughing:

that’s… quite an extreme :smile:

currently, labour are veering back to blair-esque neoliberalism under starmer (though far less effective at winning over the press and the electorate), the tories have continued further right, and the other parties simply aren’t getting in (though, again, that’s playing into that disillusionment feature).

That’s exactly what the other side wants. Generally speaking the higher the turnout the more progressive the results. Old wealthy people always vote. They got nothing but time and they have the most to lose.

Then you and my brother would get along alright

A lot of Romanians have a historic fondness for Vlad Tepes.

We really do. The only one that surpasses him was his cousin, Stephen the Great of Moldavia which was less brutal than Vlad but did take drastic actions during times of war.
At the bottom of the barrel though are all those that were puppets of the Ottoman Empire, king Carol II of Romania and pretty much all leaders after '89.

Local stuff is super important. The GOP has proved that stateside with their dominance in the statehouses. Even big blue states have done some crazy things. Anyway keep involved remember on the national level it’s not who you like. It’s the one you hate least or maybe the one you think is the not quite as much of an imbecile.

“The lesser evil” if you will (-;
