I have Tuesday to Saturday this week for busy Afternoon shifts.

Manager asked me last Friday if I wanted to cover for someone’s 5:30am shift on Monday.

I said yes.

I knew I needed this day off as I usually do, but now that’s gone and I’m up at 4:30am.

I’m a FOOL. Why did I do this to MYSELF. AAAHHH :chicken: :clock430: :fist_right: :chicken:

I think learning to say “no” is very difficult. I am working since I was 15 and I still struggle with saying “no”

Hang in there @TheChicken You can do that, and next time someone else will do the shift and it’s your turn to have a day off :muscle:

Yeah… and I had every bit of permission to say no in that moment – I was the first person he asked, so it’s not like he was at the end of his rope trying to fill a slot.

Gah, I’m just bad with things put on the spot.

I just figured I literally had nothing on my calendar today so why not take it, even though I knew in the back of my mind I’d regret it later…

Oh yeah, most adults these days are dumber than a second coat of paint.

Work done.

Home.

Ya boy needs a nap. and a better sleep ethic… anyway…

EDIT: Awake. Bit better rested than before. Will try to at least do something productive today, art-wise, to feel better.

You know I was thinking about that but at the end I will only use it maybe one month so… I don’t know. I am really missing a lot God of War 1 and 2 these days  I will see

Give it a shot, I’m not saying go as far as to hookup an old CRT TV. Everyone is different with gaming and that’s not a bad thing.

I find it easier to go back to older games then I do with investing money into newer titles which are either unfinished, broken, or have a repetitive cycle of gameplay that’s become standard for a lot of titles.

But, as I learned the quirks and differences of hardware and BC I have a need to play games from my youth in the most authentic way possible by using original hardware. I’ve spoken about this in other threads, but I’m looking into getting old Nintendo Handhelds I had growing up. While yes I want them to display on my shelf cause I’m a nerd who gets dopamine off that stuff I love playing games on original hardware.

While emulations and re-releases are awesome, emulation specifically is like a glass half empty situation and company’s like Nintendo are trying their best to recreate the dated Gameboy hardware through emulation settings that anyone and everyone can use just to scratch that visual itch that some emulators can’t get.

Yep, nowadays you can get HDMI adapters that lets you connect your PS2 to modern TVs and monitors. You can also do a bit of modding if you want your games to look slightly better on wider screens or if you just want to have all your games backed up on a memory stick.

Also not sure about prices in other countries but over here a used PS2 in good condition starts from around $30 and upwards. Refurbished PCs are also pretty cheap for those that want to get into retro PC gaming

Man, I feel for you :joy: Had the same issue two weeks ago in Paris. I pretty much judge airports based on the quality of their bathrooms/toilets these days, and CDG really disappointed there (at least the sandwiches in the restaurants were good, lol).

Ugh, man, now you reminded me of that one time in Indonesia I felt a massive urge and was faced with a mere hole in the ground… Aaaaanyways…

I judge lots of places by the state of their washroom. Fine restaurants for example should always have pristine facilities so you can go off the food, but regular after work places that are more or less all the same in terms of food quality? Is the bathroom topps? If so I want to be there instead of the other place.

Dude! The Brioche Dorée at CDG!!! I eat at them on occasion in many terminals and it’s always solid. I had no complaints. Then I got the turkey and cheese sandwich with the apple slices on it at the one in CDG and I was like “oh this is what they are supposed to taste like.” Now the other ones are more or less ruined bc they don’t come with the amazing French butter on the bread.

Me, having faced a mere hole in the ground (at home at least) in bathrooms for the last 17 years:

This is my cousin room. She has everything and many games that she didn’t even played yet like GTA V and the last God of War. Maybe one day I will ask to borrow her PS3. She lives one street away from me

I just found out my company (which is a publicly traded profit driven enterprise) LEASES the microwaves in the break room. These 3 machines are old and not particularly big or fancy. A quick online search resulted in me finding very similar ones available to buy for $48-$70 each.

We have had these in the building for at least 10 years and the cheapest lease I can find is $11 a month. I wonder if we lease all the microwaves in all the break rooms (we have to have thousands of microwaves, like maybe 5000 of them).

Back in 1990 or so my mother was going over my grandfather’s utility bills (he was in his 90s and losing the ability to handle them on his own). She got to his phone bill and noticed that he had a line item charge for “phone rental” of $5.00 a month. She asked him how that got on there and he just told her that the phone company had always charged that.

My grandfather bought that house in something like 1936. From 1936 through at least 1990, he had been renting a telephone from the phone company.
