I think I missed that one. In cities like Hamburg there are tons of bars that are gold but easily missed. Sadly they shrink down in number.
The thing unique about Hamburg if you did not know is that it is legal to smoke indoors. In most other states you have to go outside. I think if you can tolerate nicotine, you enjoy these places more where people don’t split up all the time.
My wife and I are looking into adopting another bulldog soon, so that Peach Pie can have a friend to play with inside when I’m at work and my wife is busy. We’re going for a younger male so that Peach doesn’t feel the need to compete (apparently, two female dogs have more intense rivalries with each other over who is in charge than two males or a male and female combo), and because he’s younger he won’t be quite so set in his ways and she can guide him in understanding how things are and what’s expected in our home. We’ve got one prospective young fellow that we’re going to go and meet next weekend to see how he and Peach get along. If things work out, we’ll hopefully be able to bring him home some time after. Here’s hoping.
Went shopping today with my mom for my travel to Germany next week. Busy day in a busy city, as in waiting 5 minutes at an intersection to get the chance to enter a main road. Was able to find pretty much everything I need for my bedroom, kitchen etc.
At the end of everything, when we were heading home, again waiting at an intersection, a girl bumped into our car. Nothing major, back bumper is not in its normal position but then again, I don’t call my parent’s car an old bucket for nothing and there’s a chance it was like that for some time now
Knowing my dad he’ll be like “as long as it doesn’t fall off, leave it like that.”
Still, glad it wasn’t anything serious, she couldn’t have more than 5-10 km/h though I did warn her that when we stopped at the intersection there were two kids crossing the road and even at slow speeds it can be dangerous for a living being.
At work today, a mass email went around announcing a baby shower for one of my coworkers. In addition to mentioning when, where, and what food was gonna be involved, the email said something else that I misread the first time and my mind supplemented what it said. Apparently you can register at certain places that you’re expecting a baby, I guess? Well, the email said: “[blahblahblah], she’s registered at Target.” And what I read was: “[blahblahblah], she’s a registered target.” My mind had just enough time for the names “Sean Rose” and “Akka” to float by before I realized why that didn’t make sense and to re-read the sentence to understand my mistake. Good grief.
I have never agreed with the idea of gift registries (to include Amazon wishlists). If I am going to go through the trouble of getting someone a gift, it will be something that I think they would like and want them to have. If all I care about is buying something off their list of recommended gifts, I’ll just give them cash and let them go out and buy it.
Yeah, I’ll stay over there as long as there is work for me and it’s not like I’ll be on my own. I’ll be staying with an uncle and a friend of his. No luck of finding a decent job in my city and it’s not worth living in a different city when rent is high yet salaries are so low.
My wife is amazing, I don’t know how she does it sometimes. I know I’m smarter than most people, but it’s usually just useless trivia that has no practical usage on a day to day basis. The Mrs has knowledge on how to get things done. We just got a notice today, dated more than two weeks ago, that our homeowner’s insurance had been dropped because of corporate greed fuckery, and in the space of only a few hours, had gone through several options and got us set up with a new insurance company on a better deal than we had before for both our house and our vehicles. Now, I could also have eventually gotten this done, but it probably would have taken a few days as I spend hours just researching and then carefully navigating the options, uncertain if I’m making the right choices. My wife, however, got it done in an afternoon, all the while annoyed as hell at the situation. She might as well have the Infinity Stones, because she handled it all in a snap.
