The disappointment is definitely real ![]()
I just saw this video released from GMTK, and man, if only theyād have released this sooner, or if 2K could have given some heads up, Iād have been able to buy it before itās gone.
Say what you will about it being āfunā to play, or whether its themes hit well, but I agree with Mark there that it posed some interesting questions about War as entertainment that few other military shooters of the time (and since) were interested in exploring.
EDIT: I was awake the night of its delistment, around 1am when people started sharing links where it was still available⦠it was on sale on GOG for like 3$.
I figured I shouldnāt do the 1am impulse buy and wait until morning⦠but it was gone by then ![]()
I spent 6 hours in the ER last night. I had this shooting pain in my lower abdomen on the right side. It would come and stay for maybe 5 seconds and then go away for anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 min. Then it came back again. Long story short: they have no idea. CT Scan, ultrasound, blood tests, urine sample⦠all they could say was it was not my appendix and maybe it was a kidney stone. Pain went away on its own about 4 hours into my visit, so they sent me home*.
*not home really. It was 6:30am when they cut me loose so I went directly to work.
Last night I was replaying the original GTA . You know, the 2 dimensional one from the ā90s. In one cut scene the latino gang lord says if you mess up youāll find out why they call him āEl Burro.ā As a 5 year old kid I didnāt get it, but now I understand that he means he will rape your butt and that he is called āthe donkeyā bc he is well endowed.
I then realised that burrito means little donkey. I donāt think I can order a burrito ever again without giggling.
This reminds me sometime in 2021 I was playing animal crossing new horizons and randomly found my new personal favourite villager cube at some point I decided to make all of my villagers catchphrases food related and decided to make his burrito than 7 months later I realised this guy has been calling me a little donkey the entire time
Watch out! Heās about to sell you a donkey!

Just wanted to chime in that I like how Progressive is using some pretty good 3D animation in its new series of ads.
Featuring a duo of pigeons, these are honestly fun comedic shorts (if you ignore the branding), I think itās cute and I like whenever theyāve popped up on TV recently.
Related Sidenote: Holy SHIT I love animation! Robot Dreams. This movie with no dialogue, where a Dog builds his own friend and the antics they go in in their friendship. Robot Dreams has been nominated for multiple Annie Awards this year and even the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. I have got to see this movie, but I uh have no idea where Iām able to⦠![]()
The trailer looks super cute though and omg I gotta see it omggg
Guess whoās back, back again ![]()
And, now that Iām settling into week two of my new full time job with my county government, probably more often and more consistently. After a cartoonishly long process I finally started with social services last Monday and am now fully in the thick of training. But! Now that things have stabilized, I can start getting back into the swing of more normal and fun things, including Hitman forum.
I look forward with reconnecting with everyone!
After almost a whole decade at my job and four years in the current position. Iām elated to announce starting in a few months Iāll be moving on to a new adventure.
For many who have interacted with me on the forum they know I work in the Amusement Park industry. More specifically within the Food and Beverage Department. To say they havenāt treated me well is an understatement. I had opportunities to travel, and learned so much. With that being said⦠Iāve been stuck in a position for a few years and I thought Iād be stuck there. That being said I had the opportunity to pursue something more.
Starting April 2024 Iāll be becoming an Area Supervisor in the F&B department. This will be an end of an era for me since for almost ten years Iāve focused on individual stands, catering operations, bars, and commissary. What changes for me besides the pay? To simply put it all the things I had individual responsibilities for will be one big responsibility now alongside opening and closing reports and a whole lot of paperwork.
2024 will be a promising and self fulfilling year for me so Iām very excited.
Through a points/rewards program from my work - they have an employee catalog (or catalogue) where you can redeem said points for free stuff.
I wish I had checked it out before I spent close to $300 for a Switch. I think I couldāve (essentially) got one for free, or maybe some games. They offered Metroid Dread, but I already had that (too).
So what did I end up getting? 1, a little handheld āMy Arcadeā Tetris⢠game. Meh⦠Wasnāt really worth it. The other thing I got was a Meta Quest 3.
As of posting this Iām still waiting on Steam VR to download to my main/gaming computer. After thatās done Iāll see what or if I can play any games in a VR environment. I also downloaded the Steam app for my MQ3. Iām not sure how thatāll work yet. Not too thrilled about it connecting with my FB profile, but hopefully I wonāt do something to brick the thing. ![]()
Iāll post again later with an update on how it goes and/or works⦠If I can do anything significant on it at all. Itās the 128GB version, but I donāt plan on having a bunch of games on it anyway.
Edit: No double post, Iāll just edit.
Apparently, I donāt have a fast enough wifi connection to stream games from Steam. But I did play BallisticNG in VR, Soundself (itās no longer available in the Steam store, but itās a āmeditationā game), Cosmic Flow (another āmeditationā or visual experience type of game). I also had Horror of the Deep (another game removed from Steam, I think) but I didnāt play it.
I might look into a few other types of VR games.
I said I didnāt have a fast enough connection, but the only game that required a large degree of control was BallisticNG. The control seemed okay. The VR setting wasnāt something I was used to. It places you inside the vehicleās cockpit. Iāve always played in 3rd person. But it was very cool! There was a bit of graphical āfuzzā(?) if Iād turn my head to look over my shoulder and a few audio pops/crackling.
Iām not sure what Iāll do at this point about the connection speed. I mean thereās really only one game (it seems) that Iād have any interest in playing⦠BallisticNG. So Iāll have to see what other games I can get and install on the MQ3 for a āno-lagā experience.
Edit2: They make a cable. Just ordered it from Amazon and should get it tomorrow! ![]()
Wait, what do you mean Connection Speed?
I thought the Quest was a standalone type VR device. No need for a beefy expensive PC to play VR games, it can handle most basic ones pretty well.
I was using it to stream gameplay from my PC (on Steam), not through or by the MQ3 itself.
I donāt have a cable to connect the MQ3 to my PC directly, but thatāll change sometime tomorrow.
I will look to see what games are available for the MQ3, so I might not have to use the cable for everything.
Iād rather be the assman instead of a ladybug.
I loved the grapple based wrestling games when I was a kid. I played WcW/nWo all the way through WWE (or maybe WWF) No Mercy!
Can someone recommend and bunch of horror movies? I feel I have seen everything of quality, but I crave for more!
What kind of horror are you typically into, and what are some of your current favourites?
I really like horrors like The Witch and Martyrs. I guess psychological horrors has my preference.
