I could go on forever but I don’t want to overwhelm you, based on your preferences I imagine that you should find something to enjoy in any number of these.

Also if you liked Martyrs, check out the other films that are part of the French extremity movement. These are all really hardcore movies, but if you can handle Martyrs then you can handle these.

Inside (2007)
Irreversible (2002)
Antichrist (2009)
High Tension (2003)
Frontier(s) (2007)

You may like Possession (Żuławski)

You forgot:
Manos! The Hands of Fate
Death Bed (The Bed that Eats)
Blood Sucking Freaks

Note: These are all absolutely terrible movies that NO ONE should ever watch…

Says you old man, I think everybody should inflict Manos! on themselves at least one time in their life.

Watched that one via MST3K. :+1:

I don’t really watch horrors and am not sure how much this fits the bill for you, but The Medusa Touch (1978).

I’ve seen it so many times now! MST3k back in the 90s, Rifftrax (and Rifftrax LIVE!), and just by itself without any commentary. I practically have it memorized at this point.

And yes, I’ve been Torgo for Halloween.

Here’s a real life situation horror story about a woman who commits suicide, leaving her two year old daughter all alone in her apartment to fend for herself. One of the most suspensful movies I’ve ever seen as you watch a baby go completely unattened doing what babies do, slowy turning the apartment into an increasingly dangerous minefield.

Barbarian and Malignant.

I am maybe 75% done with this latest SASO cartoon that I’ve been working on. It’s going to feel unreal when it’s done. Several events have set back progress. There were days when my job made it impossible. I worked through severe exhaustion when I could though because this is important. Mendoza is insane and I certainly did not anticipate how much more work this would be. :face_with_peeking_eye: That being said, it’s looking more and more like it’ll be done this month and I’m quite pleased about that.

I’m quite sure you’ll want to see the sequel then too! Unfortunately there isn’t a Rifftrax or MST3k version, but it’s absolutely AWFUL!

There is also a prequel (Manos: The Rise of Torgo) but the only way to watch it is to rent it from Amazon.

No I might check it out. You like this one?

I really like It Follows. The soundtracks were amazing! Under the Shadows sound interesting. Thanks!

Thanks for the list, I have seen most of these besides a few. Especially Get Out was amazing.

Oh, I have indeed dived into the French horrors and seen all of them. I will never forget seeing that one scene from Irreversible. Wow!

Thanks!

Haven’t seen those, So, how ā€œterribleā€ are they? Terrible in the sense they are good, or ā€œA Serbian Filmā€ terrible?

Wow, not sure if I can handle that one with kids. Having small ones myself.

Barbarian was awesome! I didn’t like Malignant tbh.

They are both awesome and the atmosphere in both are top. Especially Haunting of Hill House were amazing, I enjoyed every episode. Flanagans newest horrors is actually decent as well, but not as good. See ā€œThe Fall of the House of Usherā€

I’m going to suggest Rec. a Spanish found footage zombie film. Set inside a locked down apartment building.

And Pandorum, a Sci-fi horror set on an ghost spaceship.

Indeed, it’s a… weird horror movie, more cosmic and existential in nature. Therefore, a few bits of advice before viewing it: 1) Turn on the subtitles. Unless you are from or have spent an adequate amount of time in Scotland to familiarize yourself with the accents, you won’t understand a damned thing anyone is saying, even though it’s entirely in English. No offense to any Scots here, but Braveheart does not do that accent any justice. Also, no spoiler revealing that it takes place in Scotland; the location of the movie’s events is not relevant to what happens. 2) Be mature enough to handle scenes of full frontal male nudity. It makes sense in context, although it’s the context that you probably won’t understand. Which brings me to 3) Don’t spoil yourself looking up anything about it or the novel it’s based on before you watch it, but be ready to do some research afterward, because although you’ll likely get the gist of what was happening, you’re gonna have some questions.

They are extremely low budget late 60’s/early 70’s films that are bad enough that they’re funny.

Here’s a 2 minute clip of Manos, just to give you a taste:

It’s from the MST3K version, so the real film won’t have the voice-overs, obviously.
