I went to Rosslyn Chapel today in Midlothian to visit a friend who was in the area, so we decided to have lunch at the cafe there. Afterwards I went and explored the chapel, it is exceedingly beautiful. It took 40 years to build. Some very interesting carvings, like one depicting the seven deadly sins. There are also two pillars inside the chapel, one which is lovely but plain made by a master sculpter. The master sculpter would leave to travel for inspiration. His apprentice would have a dream and carve the other pillar the master was meant to do, which is exceedingly beautiful. It has 8 dragons at the bottom, a possible nod to the tree of Yggdrasil. The person who commissioned the chapel family was from Norway. (Might be of interest @Norseman ?) Legend goes anyway, the master sculpter returned, and was so stunned by the beauty of the pillar that we kill his apprentice with a mallet in a fit of rage. He would be hanged for his crimes and as punishment, a carving of his face would be made to face the apprentice pillar to taunt him. Or at least, as legend goes anyway.

Rosslyn Chapel is famous for featuring at the end of The Da Vinci Code, apparently the place gets international visitors because of it which is nice.

Keep in mind if Trump gets re elected at the very least after four… long probably most likely societal damaging years he can’t get re elected for a 3rd term.

22nd amendment is a little funky though so who knows what things he might pull.

I mean apart from the fact that he’s shown no regard for the Constitution, expressed admiration of the world’s autocrats, joked he’d ā€œonly be dictator on day 1ā€, and believes the position of president shields him from legal consequences, hmm, I wonder what stunts he’ll try to pull if he’s ever allowed back in office.

The way this country is going at the moment, I wouldn’t be surprised if ā€œsomeoneā€ did ā€œsomethingā€ regardless of who wins this election. I live in Arizona where ā€œscary Kari Lakeā€ is running for senator. Of course she’d have to step down from being governor (in her mind) if she wins…

Just like the mayor of Rosemont had to step down when he won a seat in the IL Statehouse…

The first line cracks me up. He’s one of the highest paid mayors IN THE COUNTRY and he is mayor of a village of less than 5,000 people.

Me, absolutely in love with chickens: :star_struck:

Video Games with ā€œChickenā€ mechanics: :sob: :cold_sweat:

Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain
You can find the Chicken Hat options menu, under game settings. With the Chicken Hat on you will not be detected by enemies even if you enter their vision, works 3 times and then they spot you. The downfall to using it is you can only get an A ranking maximum on a mission.

Resident Evil 4 Remake
To get the Chicken Hat, the player should beat a New Game on Hardcore difficulty in under five and a half hours. This will give them the S+ rank, making the Chicken Hat available in the Extra Content Shop for 2,000 CP.

I just want a cool cluckin’ hat. Why’d they have to penalize you or make your playthrough miserable just to get it? :sob:

The disappointment is definitely real :expressionless:

I just saw this video released from GMTK, and man, if only they’d have released this sooner, or if 2K could have given some heads up, I’d have been able to buy it before it’s gone.

Say what you will about it being ā€œfunā€ to play, or whether its themes hit well, but I agree with Mark there that it posed some interesting questions about War as entertainment that few other military shooters of the time (and since) were interested in exploring.

EDIT: I was awake the night of its delistment, around 1am when people started sharing links where it was still available… it was on sale on GOG for like 3$.
I figured I shouldn’t do the 1am impulse buy and wait until morning… but it was gone by then :disappointed_relieved:

I spent 6 hours in the ER last night. I had this shooting pain in my lower abdomen on the right side. It would come and stay for maybe 5 seconds and then go away for anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 min. Then it came back again. Long story short: they have no idea. CT Scan, ultrasound, blood tests, urine sample… all they could say was it was not my appendix and maybe it was a kidney stone. Pain went away on its own about 4 hours into my visit, so they sent me home*.

*not home really. It was 6:30am when they cut me loose so I went directly to work.

Last night I was replaying the original GTA . You know, the 2 dimensional one from the ā€˜90s. In one cut scene the latino gang lord says if you mess up you’ll find out why they call him ā€œEl Burro.ā€ As a 5 year old kid I didn’t get it, but now I understand that he means he will rape your butt and that he is called ā€œthe donkeyā€ bc he is well endowed.

I then realised that burrito means little donkey. I don’t think I can order a burrito ever again without giggling.

This reminds me sometime in 2021 I was playing animal crossing new horizons and randomly found my new personal favourite villager cube at some point I decided to make all of my villagers catchphrases food related and decided to make his burrito than 7 months later I realised this guy has been calling me a little donkey the entire time

Just wanted to chime in that I like how Progressive is using some pretty good 3D animation in its new series of ads.

Featuring a duo of pigeons, these are honestly fun comedic shorts (if you ignore the branding), I think it’s cute and I like whenever they’ve popped up on TV recently.

Related Sidenote: Holy SHIT I love animation! Robot Dreams. This movie with no dialogue, where a Dog builds his own friend and the antics they go in in their friendship. Robot Dreams has been nominated for multiple Annie Awards this year and even the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. I have got to see this movie, but I uh have no idea where I’m able to…
The trailer looks super cute though and omg I gotta see it omggg

And, now that I’m settling into week two of my new full time job with my county government, probably more often and more consistently. After a cartoonishly long process I finally started with social services last Monday and am now fully in the thick of training. But! Now that things have stabilized, I can start getting back into the swing of more normal and fun things, including Hitman forum.

I look forward with reconnecting with everyone!
