Here’s a real life situation horror story about a woman who commits suicide, leaving her two year old daughter all alone in her apartment to fend for herself. One of the most suspensful movies I’ve ever seen as you watch a baby go completely unattened doing what babies do, slowy turning the apartment into an increasingly dangerous minefield.
Barbarian and Malignant.
I am maybe 75% done with this latest SASO cartoon that I’ve been working on. It’s going to feel unreal when it’s done. Several events have set back progress. There were days when my job made it impossible. I worked through severe exhaustion when I could though because this is important. Mendoza is insane and I certainly did not anticipate how much more work this would be. That being said, it’s looking more and more like it’ll be done this month and I’m quite pleased about that.
Hereditary. And if you have netflix, watch haunting of Hill House.
witch is really good. haven’t seen the lighthouse yet tho.
i saw manos on mystery science theatre 3000 yonks ago. really funny.
I’m quite sure you’ll want to see the sequel then too! Unfortunately there isn’t a Rifftrax or MST3k version, but it’s absolutely AWFUL!

There is also a prequel (Manos: The Rise of Torgo) but the only way to watch it is to rent it from Amazon.
No I might check it out. You like this one?
I really like It Follows. The soundtracks were amazing! Under the Shadows sound interesting. Thanks!
Thanks for the list, I have seen most of these besides a few. Especially Get Out was amazing.
Oh, I have indeed dived into the French horrors and seen all of them. I will never forget seeing that one scene from Irreversible. Wow!
Thanks!
Haven’t seen those, So, how “terrible” are they? Terrible in the sense they are good, or “A Serbian Film” terrible?
Wow, not sure if I can handle that one with kids. Having small ones myself.
Barbarian was awesome! I didn’t like Malignant tbh.
They are both awesome and the atmosphere in both are top. Especially Haunting of Hill House were amazing, I enjoyed every episode. Flanagans newest horrors is actually decent as well, but not as good. See “The Fall of the House of Usher”
I’m going to suggest Rec. a Spanish found footage zombie film. Set inside a locked down apartment building.
And Pandorum, a Sci-fi horror set on an ghost spaceship.
Ginger Snaps 1 & 2, Oculus, the Blob.
Indeed, it’s a… weird horror movie, more cosmic and existential in nature. Therefore, a few bits of advice before viewing it: 1) Turn on the subtitles. Unless you are from or have spent an adequate amount of time in Scotland to familiarize yourself with the accents, you won’t understand a damned thing anyone is saying, even though it’s entirely in English. No offense to any Scots here, but Braveheart does not do that accent any justice. Also, no spoiler revealing that it takes place in Scotland; the location of the movie’s events is not relevant to what happens. 2) Be mature enough to handle scenes of full frontal male nudity. It makes sense in context, although it’s the context that you probably won’t understand. Which brings me to 3) Don’t spoil yourself looking up anything about it or the novel it’s based on before you watch it, but be ready to do some research afterward, because although you’ll likely get the gist of what was happening, you’re gonna have some questions.

Haven’t seen those, So, how “terrible” are they?
They are extremely low budget late 60’s/early 70’s films that are bad enough that they’re funny.
Here’s a 2 minute clip of Manos, just to give you a taste:
It’s from the MST3K version, so the real film won’t have the voice-overs, obviously.
It’s been just over 2 weeks since I got out of the hospital. Been taking antiobiotics since then with another 4 weeks of antibiotics to go. I think I’m slowly getting my strength back, slowly getting better. But I am still overall just often low energy, and some days just flat out exhausted. I’m probably going to ask my boss to come back to work next time, on a part time basis, which would be around just 10 hours a week. Trying to ease back into it. I’ve gotten a lot of rest but I also need to start doing some exercise and some effort to try and get better, can’t just be in the house all day. Just a long road really. I think once it starts getting warmer again that will help.
I ended up buying the standard version of Persona 3 Reload in the meantime, I’ve been having a lot of fun with that. Perfect sortof game to play while you’re stuck inside most of the time.
Me and dad decided to visit the grounds of Gosford House in East Lothian, Scotland, today to have a wee walk around. The Gosford Estate was built in late 1700’s/early 1800’s on what was basically a marsh land, next to the sea. 5 and a half miles of waterways were built for drainage and would see the planting of lots of trees, and the installation of a small lake, which has a boat house for the summer and curling house for the winter.
The standout feature of the estate for me though is the mausoleum. The Earl of Wemyss who commission the work was the Grand Master Mason of the Scottish Freemasons, and as such the mausoleum was designed with a lot of Freemason iconography designed with it, the most obvious being the replica of the Egyptian Great Pyramid which sits on top of the structure, as well as various measurements, 16 yew trees that surround the structure and the sculptures at the gate. It is certainly something that sticks out.
Despite the fact that the mausoleum has 64 niches for urns inside, only 2 people have actually been placed inside the mausoleum, which surprised me and dad. You would think such a structure would have 2 centures worth of family ancestors occupying it but no it seems. The first person inside is the Ear of Wemyss who commissioned the structure, no surprise, who died in 1808. The second person inside is far more interesting, Dr Norman Routledge, who died in 2013. This required a little digging, and honestly I haven’t found any public reason at to why this man was placed inside. Dr Routledge was born and would die in London and seemed to have no obvious Scottish links.
Dr Routledge’s claim to fame is that he was personal friends with Alan Turing. And like Turing, he was also a closeted homosexual. Although thankfully towards the end of his life he was able to be open about his sexuality and would take an active part in the gay community, and would play the harp at funerals for gay people. Dr Routledge would be a teacher at Eton, and no doubt taught many famous and powerful people there. One of those people is the current Earl of Wemyss. I can only guess that these 2 stayed in touch and somehow, Dr Routledge decided he would want to be buried in the mausoleum.
Fascinating stuff.
Yo is that Croft Manor?
Ha, I’m afraid not. There are a lot of these old sortof manor houses all across Britain built by rich lords and earls and the like, with lots of old monuments and follies they liked to build for show.
I’m enjoying my little vacation away this weekend, and I’m so very happy to see my sister perform (heck, her whole class did an amazing job on their devised play!)
but man I also can’t wait to get back and get into more helldivers
I finally got around to unlocking the Codename 47 suit. That was fun.
Super Bowl just started. Let’s go 9ers!!!

Super Bowl just started. Let’s go 9ers!!!
Fuck. One… fucking… blocked… kick…
I will never stop playing video games. No matter how old I am.
You guys feel the same?
I might not have that much time anymore; having a full time job and 3 kids. But, those nights I have tucked the kids early and still have energy left in me, and no work to catch up on, then I will prioritize my time dive into the gaming bubble.
I just finalized Alan Wake 2. Just the feeling of putting headphones on and letting yourself soak into the universe is just pure awesomeness.
