What's New....?

Aww HELL YEAH :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I’d just add to that list Ponyo and Howl’s Moving Castle as my favourite 5 Ghibli Films.

Ponyo is not one my favourites (I’ve only seen it once and I have reservations about Liam Neeson in the dub) but man is it adorable.

Howls Moving Castle isn’t something I’ve seen in a while. I’ll have to rewatch that when I next get Netflix.

Since a week ago, I’ve been working as a PC repair summer intern at a small company. The administrator of my section happens to be really old. Today, while demonstrating some electronics to me, he actually said ā€œgood old days when the transistor was inventedā€

he probably didn’t mean the first one but a newer generation of widespread use, but that doesn’t reduce the irony

So what’s up. Summer vacation is almost up. Back to work in two days.

I have to admit that I have become a bit fat. 95,9 kg. at the moment. Damn. This is so far from my peak days where I was training 6 days a week and had a healthy diet.

My reason for stopping fitness back in the day was basically that I lost interest and motivation when I had my first boy. Now, raising 3 small kids and managing a full time job, this has been my number 1 priority to put almost all of my energy into. But it is not an acceptable excuse to let go of your body like that. Taking care of your body is the most important thing (besides your family!).

So what is up is that I need to loose weight and go to the gym like I used to some years ago. But going to the gym will be the ā€œeasyā€ thing, the hard part is eating healthy and have a somewhat clean diet without falling back to the unhealthy food.

I have a soft spot for over eating food that I find delicious, or eat ā€œfor funā€ when bored or just having snacks (especially chips!) when watching series/movies. It is almost blasphemy for me watching your favorite TV show without enjoying snacks to it.

Anyway, this is what’s up and my focus at the moment.

Are you still lifting @Norseman?

Yes, but 3 times a week. I would love getting back to 4-6 day split, but Sif needs to be a bit older before that’s possible. Might not be able to train at 5-6 in the morning anymore, now it’s when she’s tugged in for the night.

I have no plans to stop lifting before I’m in the ground. Who knows if it’s possible I’ll be lifting in great halls of Valhalla.

I’ve noticed some topics seem to have stats at the bottom. They appear to be views, likes, links, users, and the top 5 posters, along with a read time.

I have too. It’s a bit annoying, but if that’s just how the forum is now because the service provider changed things, we’ll all grow used to it within a week.

Well congrats to @Norseman for stealing the Top 3 Most Liked comments on the What’s New thread with all three relating to becoming a dad/having a daughter!

I enjoyed being an election worker. Much more relaxed than I thought it would be. But I guess that’s one of the benefits of working in a rural area. I’d imagine in some of the heavily populated cities it’s an entire other experience. We didn’t have many voters so during the free time we could do whatever while we waited for time to pass. The township also provided us pizza for lunch so that was pretty nice. :pizza:

My grandma passed away on Sunday. All week until Wednesday was to arrange her funeral and all. yesterday was the mass and the cremation. I’m fine. Everyone is. She isn’t suffering anymore.

Forgot this was still in the works

not to mention the whole Peter Dinklage situation of him seeing actors having dwarfism playing dwarf roles as an insult when he himself played one that made him pretty rich and famous.

Man you only picked one Disney product from that expo to rip on?

I am no Disney fan and I am no Disney hater but fuck me all the news I am seeing from that Disney expo they had makes me never want to be creative again.

Here is the news about my personal low light, the live action Lilo and Stitch.

Zootopia 2 looks promising I think, at least that’s an IP that actually feels like it has the capacity for spin-offs and sequels. I did see a funny thing though that apparently furry fans are split on the sequel because it confirms reptiles are also anthropromorthic, and those who do and don’t want to see Judy and Nick get romantic.

Some things are a bit more inexplicable. The fact that they are doing a Moana live action remake and at the same time a Moana sequel seems a bit overboard. And we’re getting Frozen 3 and 4, not because the Frozen franchise prints money but ā€œComing out of Frozen 2, we still have some questions. A lot of questions actually," Lee said. "Now, you see why we need two films to tell this story.ā€
