What's New....?

It is very good, watched it on launch. Not your average Marvel movie, which is a good thing nowadays, unfortunately.

I don’t think this qualifies as a ‘Hitman moment IRL’, but I was out mowing my lawn, I was by a tree, and heard a beep that sounded exactly like when 47 places a RU-AP mine (in Blood Money). I had to stop for a moment and look around, and my only thought was “I hope something doesn’t blow up.” :grimacing: :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I have a friend who is a Catholic Deacon in the Chicago area and he just text me the following…
“My new boss better not be a GOD DAMN White Sox fan.”

(In case you didn’t know we have two baseball teams in Chicago and you can only like one).

“Why are we still here?” Well given this is a three decades too late sequel to Age of Apocalypse written Jeph Loeb I can only assume the answer is “Just to suffer.”

Today, while at work, I had to call an ambulance for the first time ever. Some old dude was lying down motionless on the concrete in front of the supermarket I’m employed. He was drunk as a skunk, topless and couldn’t utter a word. Thought he might puke and choke or who knows what else since it was already dark. The lady on the phone didn’t show any interest at first since a lot of ambulance resources are wasted on drunks, which I understood but did call me back telling me that she sent an ambulance and should wait for them. The paramedics told me he was the third one today. They thought it was about a drunk that they got acquainted with since they had many troubles with. That specific drunk was exactly where the ambulance was parked
The old dude was resisting help and one of the paramedics was about to call the police but in the end he agreed to go to the hospital. I offered to help the 3 paramedics carry him, he was one fat tub of lard. :whale:

May have done a morally dubious thing and rigged a high schools prom king and queen vote as a favor for a friend.

Rest assured they won, and now nobody’s became somebody’s and the “popular vote” didn’t win atleast for that night.

Probably best for this School to not let their voting process be accessible through a Google form.

In most places in the country, voting is looked upon as a right and a duty, but in Chicago it’s a sport.

Well done Mano, now you just have to hope no one at that school is ever on HMF .

So, going through a little bit of a scare right now. A week ago, my wife’s (now former) friend’s dog playfully nibbled on her arm. She wasn’t injured or anything, but she does have a skin condition that causes her to sometimes have small open breaks in her skin. Yesterday, the former friend’s dog was fighting with the other dog for reasons unknown and her adult daughter got bit on the arm. And she chose then to tell my wife that she had not kept up with the dog’s vaccinations, and now my wife is panicking that she may have been infected with rabies if that was the cause of the dog’s unexpected aggression. Everything is working for her right now, as the doctors did not recommended a need for the daughter to get a rabies vaccination, it’s only been a few days, and so far there’s no indication that the dog is exhibiting other symptoms, but the fact that this wasn’t communicated right away that the dog is unvaccinated has really got my wife worried. I think she’ll be fine, but rabies is so horrible that I don’t want to risk it and we’re trying to get her a vaccination now. It’s best to get it in the first three days and it’s been a week now, but since it’s too soon for symptoms, vaccination can still be effective. We’ll see what happens.

So, follow-up, practically everything and every opinion says that she’s fine, but she’s gonna report the dog to animal services to be checked, hopefully just a quarantine for observation and not straight to euthanasia, just to be sure.

I just learned that in the first week of Sept there is a redhead festival in Ireland. The photos suggest it’s mostly female redheads who attend.
