At the end of April, I gave in my notice at work (3 months) without having my next gig sorted because my current job had run me ragged for the last few months (they sacked my boss, took ages to hire a replacement, and sent all of my ex-boss’s work to me in the interim). I’ve been job-hunting in the meantime but facing the prospect of being unemployed come the end of July.
However, after an interview went very well yesterday, today I’ve been offered a new job to start in early August, with a 10% pay rise vs my current salary, hybrid working with 2 days per week in the office (vs 5 days for my current job), and the office is 20 mins walk from my house. I think I’ve had all my 2025 luck allocation come in one fell swoop!

In which case I have to dispute that because the Absolution years were brutal. You see IO have 47 appear in some shitty Chinese mobile game and you think the sky is falling.
During the Absolution years IO were looking at replacing David Bateson with another guy entirely and had the Kane and Lynch people working on a Hitman and the slutty nuns. Oh dear god there were the slutty nuns…
When I say slutty nuns you probably only have the foggiest idea what I am even talking about but trust me when I say it was worse than anything we have now.

I’m not saying it’s equally bad, just saying that IOI (consequently WoA content) isn’t in the best place right now.
As someone who has watched this video , I have a really good idea of what you’re talking about.
There are far too many people in that video running defense for Absolution, this is why my mission on Earth is so important.
I would contend that it isn’t bad, it could become a bad spot but I don’t think anything here is all that apocalyptic.
It might be because I don’t have this sort of rosy view of IO as a “can never do wrong” company or because I think the discourse around the Sapienza pack and the SoS crossover are just flashes in the pan or I am just apathetic to everything but the core Hitman games.

Except, the only thing mentioned here that’s wrong was replacing David Bateson. The rest of it, while top-tier, still contributed to the game’s entertainment value.
Complete and total eradication of Hitman: Absolution devotion. I harbour the same sort of contempt that George Lucas has for the Star Wars Holiday Special, if I could get every physical copy and snap it I would be a happy man.
