I mean, playing the 2nd game rn and it’s so full of bangers, would love it to listen Miami atmospheric tone while driving, is there any known reason?
the soundtrack for the game is included with the deluxe edition
Why should it be?
It was never released as a full long-play or album from my knowledge.
It was positioned like an exclusive perk for the Deluxe Edition owners
You only need the Deluxe pack to get the soundtracks. That said, why not put it on Spotify? We still get the benefit of having the soundtracks available offline.
Not question for me.
But officially putting music into streaming platforms or signing it to labels is a labor-intensive process.
You need to clear the rights and to sign a contract with rights holder(s), gain their permission, contact the distributor, sign a contact with them… It’s only what I know. I’m sure it’s just a tip of an iceberg.
Game company hardly will spend time, resources and money to release couple of tracks which besides unlikely in their possession rights-wise
Whole Soundtrack except the HITMAN lll main theme is absolute forgetable. I could not humm a single track of it.
Personally I like this Berlin dancefloor theme, and would like to get The Drop one.
The rest is just ordinary soundtrack which is quite suits the game, but not daily listening out of it
Spotify, and Deezer and other services have offline play for music if you pay for those services.
So not really true either.
The rights holders for all the OST is IOI and @NielsByeNielsen (the in-house composer at IOI). If Jesper Kyd can release all the Hitman Classic Trilogy music, why can’t Niels do the same with Hitman WOA?
I just don’t think he was ever asked to.
I still hum parts of The Showstopper, and lots of the Miami techno-music is extremely catchy, so I very much disagree with that.
Now that would require IOI to talk to Dimitri Vegas and do all that studio stuff Rushmore said, as that’s a famous outside artist making music for the game.
I’m gonna ping @IOI_Artjoms to add this suggestion to their increasingly-long-list of suggestions, because having the soundtrack on streaming services seems like a no-brainer move for the company at this point.
you just did though… Ha!
Yes, and? You would still have to pay a monthly fee to be able to do that, vs a 1 time purchase that allows you unlimited access to the soundtracks. Spotify is a streaming service, while what Deluxe pack players have is equivalent to buying a song on Itunes.
There is one composer for all 3 soundtracks, who was hired by Ioi, so the rights issue is already settled. So the process would be as simple as choosing a music distributor (Cd Baby, Distrokid are some of the more popular services for this) to upload the soundtracks through.
Thanks for the ping!
I will ask after the weekend if there have been thoughts about it and what potential roadblocks there are.
Not sure why, but a user of this forum made some custom mix on his YT channel
like this
BTW the soundtrack of this game is very good. My favourites are dartmoor and ny.
The soundtrack of this trilogy may be not very prominent but the trombones when I killed the last target will always be in my head.
Yes. I Listen to this on repeat when I’m driving to work lmao.
Once you buy the deluxe edition, you do have the option to upload your own library to Spotify and play it that way, offline. But I see what you mean, you’d like it to officially be listed under Niels Bye Nielsen’s artist page and have cool album art. I don’t think IOI sees an incentive in that. Especially given that artists have to allegedly pay to distribute their music on Spotify
Anyway Stuart Chatwood, the composer of the Darkest Dungeon music has his page on Spotify where you can listen to the music of the game.
Maybe IOI don’t allow Nielsen to do that.
And I’m not sure why IOI wouldn’t allow him to make one, considering he’s done work with Sony before now.
Awesome! I await your response!
Thanks, however is not listed as “verified artist” like Chatwood. I think Hitman is more popular that Darkest Dungeon, so if Chatwood made miliions of streams as seen on spotify, Nielsen could have made at least such a number in nine years.
