Winter Roadmap | Hitman 3

I don’t think it’s been officially confirmed to be Dubai, but that’s the expectation if it’s a new one. IO hadn’t said yet. We’ll find out tomorrow.

It will most likely start tomorrow based on the fact that the Season of Wrath ends today!

We seem to be getting one as IO sent out an email saying that Dubai was going to be a free location and that there would be a chance to play an Elusive Target during this time. Unless they’re reactivating The Ascensionist and only sent the email to people that hadn’t already completed/failed it, it would have to be a new one since the statement was quite clear that people who got the email will be able to play whatever ET it is.

Oh interesting I didn’t know that what email is this? And would you be able to send it in

Just as long as it’s not in Dartmoor. I still don’t have access to that level

The first roadmap that not will be Deluxe content or 7DS content.
I hope for escalations and Challanges.

Hitman III ain’t a reboot, none of the recent games are reboots. Soft reboot, sure, but they are clearly connected to past games.

Yeah, the accurate term would be revival. I don’t know why people avoid this term.

I do because I never heard it to be used in this context. :stuck_out_tongue:

Any media franchise that comes back after a very long time but doesn’t re-do the original story or branch off into a different version/timeline is a revival, basically. I don’t think it’s limited to just TV series

And if it is then it shouldn’t be!

Revival is usually after a long period of time MIA.

For example, bringing back Baby Wario for Dr. Mario World is a revival of that character (last seen in 2005’s Yoshi’s Island DS), Doctor Who had a revival in 2005 as the last piece of media was the TV Movie (which is also Canon btw), that was aired in 1996; a 9 year difference.

Absolution releasing in 2012, and Hitman 2016 releasing in 2016 (was going to be 2015, but it was delayed) doesn’t seem like a revivial, just a continuation of the continuity. There are games with bigger gaps than that wouldn’t be considered revivals.

Despite what many believe, There’s not much to suggest that Absolution isn’t canon, asides from one meta gag in Mendoza and the devs constantly teasing us about it.

I think that absolution is now non-canon except The strip bar owner Who was eliminated for some other reason. But it’s probably stress development having fun with us. Anyway I always see the stories from the other games a legends

And that’s not going into the fact the comics and the games try to connect past entries (Subject 6 is literally from a throwaway piece of text from 47’s child life from an obscure novel that barely anybody has read, and Hitman 2 and the comics make a point of referencing it). That kind of suggest IOI don’t want to reboot this series, and I feel like a lot of what WOA was trying to achieve was to clean up the storyline of events a bit.

I do not think the maps are NOT activated in the context of your sentence. The second and fourth ETs from HITMAN 3 were maps from 2. Just the rest were either maps from 3 or 1. I would honestly prefer more new ETs than reactivations. Hopefully we get some info soon.
