Thank you so much :purple_heart:  :cherry_blossom:

Is this the correct place to mention this

Yaaaaaayyyyy!

Hopefully its earlier in March than later, because I. Want. My VR Details!!

(Probably only campaign mission support, but I hope for more!)

I think they might throw in Freelancer support as well, since it uses only campaign maps. And they already have to do a lot of small changes to make world interactive in VR, so adding some Freelancer specific stuff wouldn’t be a lot of work

I really really really hope you’re proven right about that.

I have my doubts it’ll be anything other than base minimum Campaign access in VR, (and man, the experience alone will be worth it) so if there’s any other addition, I’ll be on cloud nine :star_struck:

PlayStation’s State of Play is today (February 12th) @ 10pm UTC. We could see a PSVR2 trailer.

Edit after State of Play: Nothing PSVR2 related, only a trailer for MindsEye (IOI Partners).

New footage will be revealed on March 11 during VR Games Showcase

Also they’ve used H3VR: Reloaded as cover for it, lol

I got super confused by that image too, but it was just showing last year’s announcements and had nothing to do with this year.

Today’s the day for the vr games showcase it’s just a few hours away now

We got a minute of gameplay!

Oh god, the top highlighted comment on Youtube… :joy::sob:

The VR stigma is real…! (At least when you release 3 sub-par versions of a VR port of the game)

4th time lucky?
Also here is the new keyart compared to the old one!

It looks… nice? I like how you can carry items in both hands, but I think this is gonna be restricted only to items that are same category - so you won’t be able to carry a can in one hand and a pistol in another.

I don’t know if the PC version is terrible, but I genuinely think the PSVR1 version is pretty good. Has some issues, and it really should have support for everything (since ETs prove that bonus missions are supported), but I like it a lot. Sure, the controls use the Dualshock, but how were they going to adapt the controls for the two button dildo controller?

This version definitely feels more like what it should be, and also shows how lazy XR Games were in their implementation of immersive elements

XR Games had their own challenges to overcome. They had to learn a whole new engine (they of course had IOI to ask questions, but it’s still a big task), port said engine to a new platform (graphics and CPU, they had to port it to Vulkan and ARM!), and then make it run well on the Quest’s hardware.

It’s a great tech demo… that cost 3 years of work.

Hey everyone! There has been lots of articles and reviews posted about PSVR2 as IOI held a media playtest event a few days ago. Here are all of them with relevant info: (tldr - it’s looking good and there is a lot of gameplay footage to watch too!) :purple_heart: (credit to AnthonyFuller for his post on discord)*

Also, I’d like to mention that few days ago IOI did a Q+A with Playstation which you can read above ^

“For IO Interactive, Hitman On PS VR2 Is A Chance At Redemption” - Henry Stockdale @ UploadVR

Devs on PC/PS4 VR:

“This is a redemption for us because we ported the PSVR version to PC, and it got released prematurely,” Mohl said during a face-to-face interview at the studio’s Copenhagen office. Referring to the PC VR version’s mixed reception, he believes aspects of the game could’ve been improved with more time.
Acknowledging that not being able to use your left hand on PC VR was “horrible,” Mohl described the controls as like having a DualShock 4 in your hand, and this edition lets you use both hands. He expressed the team’s love for VR, stating its priorities include “getting rid of as many face button prompts as we can” and introducing manual reloading.
“With this version, we are much closer to our original hope of what this game can do, these were all things we knew we had to do.”
“Since PC VR support was a direct port from PSVR, you didn’t have room-scale movement, which meant that if you physically moved in your room, you’ll be moving out of his body. That’s one of the very understandable critiques that we had on PC.”

PCVR:

With all these features coming, I asked a question many have wondered since the PS VR2 version’s announcement. Can we expect these changes and enhancements to reach the PC VR version? IO Interactive won’t confirm any plans but, “if that happens, then naturally we’re going to be building on what we’ve done here now.”

Specs:

Going into the technical details, IOI confirmed Hitman on PlayStation VR2 is running at 60Hz reprojected to 120Hz, which caused a noticeable ghosting effect on several occasions. Dynamic foveated rendering is also supported alongside eye-tracked aim assist for targeting enemies. Haptics for the Sense Controllers add some enjoyable yet subtle feedback, though headset haptics aren’t currently supported, and adaptive trigger support when firing guns feels nice.

HITMAN One VR: Reloaded:

Hitman World of Assassination reaches PlayStation VR2 on March 27 with a $10 DLC pack, which requires owning the base game on PS5. It’s also being sold through the Hitman WOA Part One – VR2 Edition for $39.99.

“I can’t believe it either, Hitman on PSVR 2 is actually, finally a great VR port of the World of Assassination trilogy – and my new favorite way to play the series” - Hamish Hector @ TechRadar

Content:

Speaking of Hitman: World of Assassination as ‘just’ a PSVR 2 port, this is the (almost) full-on World of Assination package but in VR.
Some missions have been cut (at least for now) such as the bonus Patient Zero campaign (I say for now, as the IOI team gave me the impression it wanted to bring these levels to VR eventually), Hitman 2’s sniper missions, and some of the more elaborate Elusive Targets – like the recent The Splitter mission featuring Jean-Claude Van Damme.
Otherwise, everything’s there. In Sapienza, I was delighted to see the Kraken easter egg was still present – even if I didn’t quite have the time or aim to solve it – and in Berlin, I took on The Drop Elusive Target mission starring real-world DJ Dimitri Vegas.

Performance:

I also noticed that everything ran fairly smoothly. Even on Berlin’s crowded dance floor and at Miami’s packed car race event I didn’t experience any noticeable stuttering. Graphics-wise it’s a step down from what you’ll be used to on the PS5’s flat game, however, it didn’t look bad by any stretch – though I’ll want to test the game out further before passing a final judgment on the performance.

" ‘Never say never’ – we ask Hitman developer if Project 007 is coming to VR, and learn how Hitman VR was fixed for PSVR 2" - Hamish Hector @ TechRadar

007VR and Serajevo Six:

He couldn’t go deep into the team’s upcoming Hitman: World of Assassination plans – in or out of VR with respect to future seasonal content – but Eskil noted that there are some bonus campaigns like Patient Zero and the The Sarajevo Six which aren’t yet in this VR port, though perhaps they’ll be added one day.
Of course, I took the chance to try and probe about the studio’s two upcoming projects Project 007, and the new Project Fantasy IP.
I had spotted a few black and white photos on the wall in a side office from the classic James Bond movies – featuring the iconic Aston Martin DB 5, and a headshot of Sean Connery (I think, it may have been a different Bond actor but I only got a quick look) – so I secretly hoped I might be able to pry something from the interview.
Alas, Eskil was on form and deflected my questions, but when I made my final gambit to jokingly ask about the possibility of Project 007 VR he chuckled and replied “Never say never.”

I mean, yay, glad they’re selling a PSVR2-Marked bundle so people know they can at least use that version with VR, but still… aaaagh, is this gonna be on top of Sapienza too?? Or is one gonna get swapped out for the other as the “new bundle”.

(PSVR Reddit has been throwing around flowcharts and answering questions for months telling people to go for the Full Game since it’ll support VR which is good :+1:)

Damn though, thanks Blossom for the continued research, didn’t know you were so into this lol!
I’ve got videos and reading to do wooooo

I’m just posting all the info so everyone who is interested can see it!
I am interested myself too, but because it is Hitman and not because I can play it in vr (I’ve only tried vr once like 10 years ago although I’d love to play Hitman in it one day! :purple_heart:)

This new edition of the game really doesn’t need to exist since its priced exactly the same as buying Part One and the VR access DLC separately. So why not just let players buy it that way if they want Part One VR?

Its confusion for the sake of confusion (and maybe a few extra bucks in case non-VR owners accidentally purchase Part One VR instead of Part One).
