Yes or No...? 2

I don’t have any screenshots to share, but in the past, I’ve tried to make customizable characters look like me. That’s usually with a main or 1st playthrough. On a second or third playthrough, I might go with something of more of a power fantasy, or maybe a character of the opposite gender. Or whatever… Something different.

If you were a Hitman target, how would you prefer 47 to kill you?
  • Direct murder
  • Accidental

Me, I’d prefer to be directly murdered. 47 tries to get it over with quickly when he has to do it himself, where there’s no question that it was a murder. Strangling, stabbing, neck breaking and poisoning are the longest and most painful methods that he uses, but even those are over with relatively quickly and done in such a way as to cause death as fast as possible, so they don’t really emphasize causing pain. The rest of the time, shooting, sniping and using explosives, you really won’t have time to register that you felt anything before you’re already gone.

Dying in an “accident” arranged by 47, on the other hand, are often extremely painful, and while they might not all last long, most of them have you conscious and aware without shock dulling the pain the entire time it’s happening to you. Whether that’s you burning in an oil puddle, being electrocuted, drowning, falling, having something fall onto you, being ground up in a machine, being catapulted into the air, and any other form of “accident” that can be set up, they tend to be far more gruesome than having 47 just use his own hands and tools to take you out.

With all that in mind, I’d prefer if he’d just straight-up kill me.

I want him to make it look like I died at old age with a fulfilled life. As authentic as possible.

Mortal Kombat, Godzilla, Star Trek, Coca Cola. Anything else is wrong.

Never got into Star Trek, but i love Patrick Stewart, fuckin legend. He voiced Zobek in Castlevania Lords of Shadow, who also narrates the Story. Simply fantastic. One of my favorite games of all time.

But hey, you got 3 out of 4 correct

No, 4 out of 4 correct. Star Trek > Star Wars. Go for the Next Gen and see Sir Patrick in action, plus other legends like Brent Spiner, Michael Dorn, and John de Lancie.

except for coca cola that entire list is wrong

Nopers. How many games does MK have compared to SF? How many movies does Godzilla have compared to King Kong? How many series, movies, novels, comics, toys, fans, overall episodes, and total years does Star Trek have over Star Wars? I know raw numbers don’t mean everything, but they still speak volumes.

since when did quantity eclipse quality? street figher 5 wasn’t the best but atleast it didn’t give developers traumas and had one of the worst story modes known to men. besides the 3d games from mk every other street figher game except 1 has been absolute class and outshined mk.

godzilla isnt a big monkey though

other than my general personal preference for star wars, its safe to say that star wars has more fans due to it being more well known to the general public, star wars only has one movie lesser than star trek. and all the other stuff is mostly semantics except for series which to be fair, i dont care about for either.

yea like how fifa sells millions, that must mean its a groundbreaking and innovative game series right??? /s

The reason why there is so many of a thing is due to the amount of success a thing has, and a thing’s success is due to how many people like that thing and keep going back to it. I’ve honestly never understood the idea that a thing is lesser quality in spite of, or even because of, being popular to the mainstream. That, to me, is a sign of quality, because it convinced so many that it was a thing worth liking. Of course, that’s my perspective…

Neither is Kong; he’s an ape. Godzilla’s still better; he’s a prehistoric force of nature reborn from a nuclear fire.

Debatable. Star Wars got its popularity because of the popularity of Star Trek keeping the space odyssey sci-fi genre strong, and virtually everybody knows of both, and those who aren’t fans simply confuse the two, like saying “Beam me up, Scotty” when seeing a picture of the Millenium Falcon. Nobody knows about one without knowing about the other.

this is easy. id rather go out from a hot GMO-assassin than to look lethally uncoordinated in front of people.

can you imagine how embarrassing it would be to step in an electrified puddle and straight up DIE in front of important clientele?

i dunno, breaking into the mainstream seems less about quality and more to do with how much money and marketing gets thrown behind it (getting access to a wider audience for a longer amount of time is a huge help); and because there’s money behind it, it’ll usually be fairly safe or defanged or follow a formula to ensure it recoups the cost, which tends to make it a little boring, at least to me.

that’s not to say mainstream is inherently bad (that’s snobbery) or that pre-mainstream things can’t get popular on their own merits (word of mouth is a powerful thing), but equally i don’t personally see how being mainstream - in-and-of-itself - can be considered inherently good or a mark of quality either.

for example, this was a number #1 record on release in the uk and currently has 3.2 billion views…

…and that is not what i would consider quality. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

a lot of the really influential or forward-thinking stuff we consider classics today were probably looked down on when they first arrived.

christ… that post was longer than i expected. sorry.

I would pay good money to see Harold Faltermeyer bludgeon every single person person involved in Crazy Frog to death with a Nokia 1100 and I am willing to bet a lot of people would as well.

I remember that story about the person who had some kind of PTSD after working on MK. You know what: when i was younger i worked as a Carpenter/Undertaker and one of my new Coworkers got mental health issues within a year, he just couldn’t handle being near dead bodies. I worked in the same job for 7 years and it never affected in any way.
What I’m trying to say is, if you cant handle violence and gore, you probably shouldn’t work for NRS or on Mortal Kombat.

While i agree that MK11 had the weakest story among the NRS Games, its not that bad? Sure it won’t win any literature prizes or whatever, but tell me what is the overall Story of Streetfighter? I couldn’t tell you and I’ve played almost every SF Game.
Oh and also this Movie-like Format for the Storymode, that almost every Fighting Game has nowadays…it was introduced in MK vs DC.

The last one lacks a neither option. I’ve never been able to drink either as my tongue seems to react negatively to kinds of cola.

And thats the problem, the movie like story-modes have never worked for fighters, especially not the one or two character per chapter format nrs still utilizes
