Yes or No...? 2

At first I selected English with accents but then I realised that’s not exactly what I wanted and unvoted. I guess what I would prefer is mostly English with whatever accent the other person has but sometimes their own language with subtitles and 47 can speak back in that language also with subtitles (like when the story dictates that the other person doesn’t speak English).

That would give us the fun reminder that 47 speaks like 5 other languages or how ever many we know he speaks.

I’m gonna guess he speaks as many languages as countries he’s killed people that have different languages.

I know someone on HMF was keeping a list at one point.

You gotta believe he doesn’t speak all the worlds languages (or does he? I mean he can pretty much do anything :joy: ). In my head cannon I prefer he speaks maybe 5 or 6 total languages well enough to get around any social setting he might find himself in.

Let’s say he can speak anything Latin-based, and count that as one language for him, and then other big ones that he needs, like French, German, Russian, Japanese and such. While we’re at it, let’s also count Mandarin and Cantonese as one language, so he can fit in anywhere in China.

French is latin based (-;

Sorry, I don’t know which ones are Latin-based other than Spanish and Portuguese. I know there are more, just not which ones.

As cool as this would be, unless David Bateson has a real knack for languages, I think we´d be in for a few immersion breakers

Update on this poll: it wasn’t really the right job for me. As it turned out, it was the job itself that caused the stress. I had one month to try it out and see if its for me. Today is my last day working before the month expires. There was no reason to feel guilty about calling sick after all. (Not that I did).

I worked one retail job at a Trak Auto back in 1996 or so. Never again. I’ve luckily been able to work at non-customer-facing positions since then and never looked back.

Sometimes with upcoming games and movies, the script or parts of it get leaked. This often leads to the writers to do re-writes in an attempt to try and surprise fans or to subvert expectations, but how often is this a good thing? So if you happen to know spoilers ahead of time, would you rather they stay on course or make changes?

  • Stick to the script, stay on course
  • Flip the script with re-writes
  • Depends on if I like it or not

I love watching the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Star Wars, Star Trek, that sort of thing. I have tried to remain as spoiler-free as possible at times and have actively sought out as many spoilers as possible at other times. I have never found my enjoyment of the movies any different knowing the full script before hand or knowing nothing. It truly doesn’t matter to me, it seems.

I have noticed that when script re-writes are done specifically to avoid a spoiler that got leaked, the result is less than stellar, or the re-write makes no sense. I’d rather they stick to their original vision as much as possible instead of going back to the well.

On the subject of whether I like it or not, I try to not allow my own opinion of the script color my enjoyment of the film. It’s easy to say “I would have done it differently”, but I am not the writer, director, producer, author, actor, or whatever else. I try to let the movie stand on its own regardless of whether I agree with the script or not. The job of a movie is not to please my sensibilities - it’s to entertain and nothing more. I don’t need to agree or like a script to be entertained by it.

I say we make it so that leaking unreleased entertainment media is a capital crime and start executing folks who do it. That’ll make that leak traffic slow down pretty quick.

Note that I said leaks to entertainment media, meaning movies, tv shows, books, and things like that. Political leaks, or leaks about the people involved in entertainment media, may and should still continue as they are.

Fun fact for today (for Sims series)

Grim Reaper is a special NPC in The Sims 2. And he has a bio, just like most of the Maxis-created sims. :skull:

Yes and no. I think out a full backstory, but I don’t always write them out and quantify them.

Yeah I agree with you. Sometimes I can’t even come up with a good name, not to mention whole stories before the game. If gameplay after character creation allows you to create and tell a story of your own, then it is enough for me to enjoy, such as The Sims.

Based on a recent conversation of mine:

Will you stop listening to an specific singer or band if they are proven to be pedophilic, co-operating with dictator regimes, or stealing money through bet websites?

  • Yes, I shall not support them by listening, let go I will inform others as well.
  • No, why the fuck should I care what they do, I like the voice and the music.

My answer is yes, because no matter how great the songs are, I would always look at them with disgust due to the background. I also feel this is social responsibility.
