Cocaine will never kill as many people as Christ has.

It keeps me steady as a rock and sharp as nails. If it weren’t for my powder, these damn tribesmen would have already killed me. :heart_hands:

Christ hasn’t killed anybody. The very idea is antithetical to Him. Now, a bunch of power-mad judgmental dickheads have killed people in His name, but that’s not the same. That’s an issue in the human heart, not the institution being used to act upon it.

millions upon millions of people, to clarify. Crusades and witch burnings weren’t done in the name of coke.

No, although a great deal of drug gang killings and overdoses have. Witch burnings hardly ever happened; more people have been burned alive for reasons having nothing to do with religion than for being witches. And the Crusades and other such atrocities, again, being performed by power-mad fanatics deliberately tainting the actual message for the uninformed in order to gain money and control. Has nothing to do with Christ. If religion never existed, those same people would have used some other reason to achieve the same goals. Corporations are a good example, and they collectively have done more harm in the past two centuries, not just to humanity but the environment as well, than any religion ever has.

from about 1400 to 1775, about 100,000 people were prosecuted for witchcraft in Europe and British America.[1] Between 40,000 and 60,000[2][3] were executed, almost all in Europe.

I didn’t say witch trials and persecution’s for witchcraft hardly ever happened; I said witch burnings hardly ever happened, and I was careful to phrase it that way. 100,000 people over all, with only some regions having burning at the stake as the method of execution. In the overall scheme of things, that’s the statistical equivalent of it hardly ever happening.

Fair enough, I suppose that most of them were hanged.

Going to a movie with a friend later tonight and it’s between these two, your pick?

In your bath/washroom, among the towels and other articles for self-cleaning, what do you call the square-shaped item?

  • Face Towel

Working at a hotel, I’ve had some guests refer to this as a ‘face towel’. There are ‘hand towels’ that are larger, and ‘bath towels’ are the largest. But I’ve always heard them called ‘washcloths’ while growing up. So I don’t know if it’s a regional thing, like the names soda vs cola (and/or maybe pop) when referring to a carbonated (and flavored) beverage.

Could it be that what a person calls it - that’s what they use it for? Like if you say “face towel” do you wash your face with a different item (doesn’t have to be after a bath or shower) and use the “face towel” to dry your face off?

First thing that comes to mind is a bar of soap but guessing that’s not exactly what you’re getting at.

Square-shape cloth item. I don’t know of any bars of soap that aren’t rectangular unless it’s some kind of fancy or homemade soap.

It IS weird that it’s called a wash cloth, since it’s the smallest cloth and you can’t wash much with it…

Wouldn’t call it fancy but it’s probably homemade. I order it from a small business owner but I’m getting off course so nevermind. :slightly_smiling_face:

A sheet of Toilet paper.

I am one of the people that had always referred to those as face cloths, never knew they were commonly known as washcloths. TIL
