007 "First Light" News Thread

Only the Casino Suit is a cross-promotion skin between Hitman and First Light,
the golden gun and On Duty outfit are only for First Light :man_shrugging:

Less interested it’s, gotcha.

Banker Suit is already in the game.

Gilded Wraith
and
On Duty.

Probably never, but I’m certain we will get more Bond unlocks in HITMAN as we get closer to release. Either for purchasing New Light and or future events.

General belief is free is for me. So I’ll be keeping tabs on cross promotions and if specific brands will to tie-ins.

ā€œGood, because I think you’re a sexist, misogynist dinosaur. A relic of the Cold War, whose boyish charms, though wasted on me, obviously appealed to that young woman I sent out to evaluate you.ā€

My idea is that it’s not a ā€œreliableā€ method of getting that suit, because it’s a temporary one (and not guaranteed) or requires additional spendings (if the DLC won’t be taken down).
Because this Elusive Target is foremost Elusive and could not come back at all, and the DLC could be withdrawn from sale for whatever reason

I would bet my Casino Suit, that it will come back around the release of First Light next year. Unless something happens, that ā€œcancelsā€ it like McGregor and Busy.

And I might be wrong, but don’t you get the Suit if you just play the ET and don’t have to finish it? At least, it only says ā€œplayā€ in the description. Since the ET is completely free and can be played within the Free Starter Pack, it isn’t that hard to get then. But I didn’t test it, so maybe you have to kill him to get the suit.

That’s from GoldenEye, right?

Indeed it is, where the Dame Judi Dench laid down the law on Bond, and up to that point being the only woman to have that be the only kind of thing she ever laid with him.

Best 007 film since Connery stopped playing Bond!

I dunno, I’d give the Roger Moore era a win with The Man with the Golden Gun.

Aaaactually, that would be The Living Daylights :winking_face_with_tongue:

(Also, made a thread for these kinds of opinion exchanges: The James Bond / 007 Franchise)

I can’t believe it. It started with First Light and now reality itself has gone woke as well.

Some interesting information in this new interview with Christian Elverdam:

It’s definitely not going to be the WOA reskin that some people are expecting. While this comparison with Absolution might be a little worrisome at first glance, I have faith that IO have an amazing game on their hand.

Level-design-wise I think an Absolution-like structure would be highly appropriate for a Bond game, in a way that was never really going to work for Hitman - no problems with this whatsoever for 007 First Light. Of course, the really big problem with Absolution was the repellant story/tone/characters, and it should be a very easy win not to write something as teeth-gindingly terrible as Absolution was in that regard.

Makes sense. Somehow Bond has to get to car chases and other ā€œeventsā€ and that would be pretty hard to accomplish with a completely open approach combined with a fixed story to follow. It would feel to guided, if you have an open terrain but always have to get to that one point to trigger the story to continue.

Hitman has the benefit, that it doesn’t need that. Go in, finish the mission, go out anyway you want. With the exception of Mendoza, where you have to get to Diana at the end to continue the story. And Bond would be all like that than, I think, and therefore it would feel forced somehow.

If they mix it up like Absolution with some open terrains and some straight forward routes, and the mix is good, I’m still interested.

Fortunate for us, the short time period, where this Grindhouse/Trash/Exploitation-Theme was the big hit (and it never even was) is long gone. So, even if it wasn’t Bond but something else, I wouldn’t expect something as terrible as the ā€œWorld of Absolutionā€ in any game today.

I’m still really hoping for one level where Bond must take out bad guy X and bad guy X is staying at a hotel or he’s at a mansion party. It’ll be a hitman sandbox with the only requirement being the player doesn’t blow their cover. That won’t mean what we call SA, just that anyone who sees you do anything too wrong must also be eliminated. SA would be the perfect score or goal or whatever. I guess minor tresspass would have to be allowed so long as you follow the guard back to wherever they take you. It would be SO FUN!

Great article.

That is a very good point lol

I’m just tentatively hoping for something non-embarrassing. Let me put it this way, I hope the big twist won’t be that Young Bond has amnesia about killing M’s parents - but wait, there’s actually an antidote to his memory loss.

What gives me a bit of faith is that in this interview with the Franchise Director, he says that they have weekly meetings with MGM - maybe a bit of handholding for IO will turn out to be a good thing.

I“m hoping there“s more than one such level. The social-stealth aspect of Hitman (minus all the disguises) is part of the Bond aura just as much as the shootouts and car/vehicular chases, and it would be a shame not to spice up the gameplay a few times with a Hitman-style sandbox when it“s IO“s forte.
