I was just curious if the “earning” part was only going to be at the beginning, or if it is the main goal of the game, based off the details released.
The story arc of this origin story game will be how James Bond earns the 007 number.
Yeah, I get that. I just want to know if it’s a case of him getting it early and proving he deserves to hold onto it, like a probationary thing; if he gets it halfway through and then shows what he can do once he’s got it; or if he doesn’t get it until the end, or shortly before the end with one mission with him having the number. Any one of these could fit with the idea of Bond earning the number, and I can see a decent story from any one of them.
My guess is it’s him earning the number in the last mission. That way the sequel would be the first “real” 007 game.
Ah, so this is a prequel to GoldenEye 007, then? Gotcha.
We are finally getting that weapon upgrade system we been asking for in the last 10 years. I always griped about how WOA handled it’s weapon load outs.
Wait just taking a closer look at this image - is it really weapon customization?
It seems we’re looking at the “Pistol” tab, and it says “2/2 pistols”. One being the Service Pistol, another being the Silenced Service Pistol. In other words, the game treats them as different guns.
My guess would be that this Customization menu is actually just for swapping the skin applied to each individual gun, rather than upgrading the gun itself with new attachments.
Also, bit concerning to see an option to switch to the “Rifle” section on the right hand side which is clearly displaying an image of a shotgun…
As long as we can do that with the Walther PPK. I’m so hoping that the last kill of the game can be done with the Walther PPK, assuming that “service pistol” isn’t it, although it looks like it will be. I hated that Craig’s Bond’s final kill was just with some random gun that he found.
Would also indicate there’s no attaching/detaching a silencer during a mission.
It might be that we can only bring a single two-handed gun into a mission, so they’re all lumped together.
Everyone is a villain in someone else’s story ![]()
I was going by what the narrator was saying but upon closer inspection you might be right. What a disapointment.
Man, I’m so in love with this opening song. Just chills every time, so intense and epic.
I wonder if the lines “your life like a game” / “will you play?” were specifically chosen because this is for a video game. ![]()
Sure, it probably plays into part of the plot where Bond/MI6 is being manipulated by some grandmaster, but there’s a silly little double-meaning to it.
Yeah I found those lyrics a lil cliche and cringey…
(but secretly I can’t get the song out of my head!
)
Oh well
I do miss the animations from older Bond games, especially Nightfires & Everything or nothing, when de/ataching the silencer.
It always gave me a tiny kick and made me fell like Bond when I put it on, before entering a room hahah.
Ooooh, I always love it when games have that feature (not that I can think of many).
Would be cool if First Light had it, but the best we can hope for is Absolution-style “press button to magically attach/detach”.
Not a chance, that’s vastly inferior to the First Light opening titles in both imagery and song. Blood Stone sequence looks like it was made for a videogame, First Light sequence could legit be opening the next mainline film entry into the series.
You’re right. quantum of solace the video game did it better.
This is what imagine a Bond opening sequence would look like if it was made by AI.
