A good thing imho. At least it stands out visually from all the UE games
I´d wager most if not all is due to motion blur and some bloom maybe? Hopefully nothing that can´t be fixed by tweaking the settings.
Agree it´s cool, but don´t like that apparently they break (not sure if always or randomly) afterwards.
Thought the same thing. Don´t think the Tatras are that big over there, but still, the choice of setting is cool (whether it was in any way influenced by The Living Daylights, I have no idea).
That is so insanely reductive. Multiversus looks nothing like Fortnite, which looks nothing like the Metal Gear remaster. This has always been a reductive comment which ignores visual aesthetic and art direction because â[insert game engine] is bad!â. The stream was also bombarded with âUE5 slop!â doesnât help matters.
Considering how historically unfriendly IO has been with these settings, donât be so sure.
Right with my Unreal comment I was aiming more towards the visually really impressive, photorealistic games.
You can make great games with any engine, usually each has an advantage at certain things. Unreal seems to have the cutting edge when it comes to graphic features.
I can understand when spinning wheels have blurry rims. But here the wheels have a blurry aura that make the background very washed out as well. These things annoyed me. Motion blur can probably reduced, TAA sadly not I fear.
Right⌠My jab was aimed specifically at those UE games which look photorealistic but seem to lack precisely that unique visual aesthetic / art direction that would make them memorable. Since most of the times when I see a game that´s got great visuals yet feels bland and visually forgettable at the same time, it seems to be an UE one. Should´ve made that clear in my comment. Don´t get your knickers in a twist.
Remake.
True. Though I feel like that blurriness of sorts occasionally pops out in WoA as well⌠Hopefully they´ll polish it up a bit until release.
The Specialist and Legacy versions are available in multiple countries. From the official site you have the USA, Canada, UK, Belgium, and Italy. Germany and Spain can get Specialist but not the Legacy Edition at the moment.
Iâd like to tag @Combatglue to ask a few questions about the Legacy Edition. For something costing $300, I donât think we know much about it. Really, this thing should have a small video showing it off, rather than just 1 picture.
#1: What the dimensions of the Golden Gun, or what scale is it?
#2: Is this the Golden Gun from Factory Entertainment, or made by another company?
#3: Do any of the bullets have â007â engraved on them, like in the film The Man With The Golden Gun?
#4: What exactly the secret compartment is for? Just for the certificate of authenticity, or for the steel case?
#5: Is the 007 logo on the base of the stand designed for the magnet to sit in, as well as the steel case too?
#6: What is the â007 First Lightâ golden plate in the display case? Just a fancy name plate?
#7: Can you really not include the tuxedo with the Legacy Edition? Look, noone is happy with the Amazon exclusivity deal, but it seems incredibly miserly to not even give it to those willing to pay $300 for the Legacy Edition.
Knickers were not twisted, but thank you for the clarification.
Also, Unreal Engine is one of the most used engines in gaming, so that seems like setting yourself up to be angry all the time whenever one of those bland games comes along.
I donât even think UE even has that reputation, does it? I thought the reputation was that all games on UE wanted to look like Fortnite, not hyper realistic?
Iâve appreciated the trailer, especially the first part with the Hitman-like mission. I do like the choice of approach of a mission (lethaly or bluffing).
I do less like the car race, but what is a James Bond without cars! This part is inevitable.
The trailer teases me, I aknowledge. But I do wait for additional informations before making my mind about this game.
In the UK, Smyths are selling the Legacy Edition for ÂŁ260, which is actually more than the $300 USD price past conversion. Amazon are also meant to be selling it, but that store listing doesnât seem to exist yet. Itâs a lot to ask for, when the base game is ÂŁ60 here, ÂŁ200 for the Golden Gun and what boil downs to a few extras.
From what I can see, the Legacy Edition isnât perfect. The gun itself is fine, but the bullets look pretty inaccurate. And honestly, I have no idea why there are 5 of them in the display. The Golden Gun in the film can only hold a single bullet. Scaramanga famously only needs 1 shot to kill a target. Not to say he wouldnât have more bullets, but it is a strange detail. Especially when the bullets donât look like the one shown in the film. Not to mention (unless Iâm wrong), there is no bullet engraved with 007 on it, which is what kicks off the plot of the film. Not sure whatâs up with the â007 First Lightâ plate. And the magnet has a weird jutting out edge on the bottom right of it, ruining the silhouette, unless that is meant to be the trademark?
The thing is though, in the UK at least, you can buy a Golden Gun replica from Factory Entertainment for ÂŁ65, which also comes with a display stand from their website. You can also buy an actual gold plated 1:1 replica of the bullet engraved with 007 for ÂŁ40 from the 007 store. Thatâs ÂŁ105. Add in ÂŁ60 to buy the Specialist version from Amazon, which includes the tuxedo, and that comes to ÂŁ165 (minus shipping fees), compared to ÂŁ260 for the Legacy Edition.
Granted, I donât know how available that Golden Gun and Golden Bullet replicas are outside the UK for comparison. But here, well, it doesnât seem like a contest honestly, unless the Golden Gun included in the Legacy Edition is of a higher quality than the one made by Factory Entertainment.
I have seen similar opinions, like UE5 games âhaving a certain lookâ, usually hyper realism, and âbad performanceâ. Obviously, this doesnât apply to every UE game, but Iâve seen this online more than a few times and I donât even care about the subject.
Seriously what is even that thing? Itâs like they were not allowed to sell a proper pistol replica and so they came up with a shape of it. It looks like a perfume bottle.
This was the main thing that jumped out at me for looking odd. Waaaaaay too many Big Red Objects That Go Boom⢠scattered everywhere. This, coupled with the wide open expanse of the runway (and unnatural spawns of guards & cars dotted across the tarmac), evoked a particular memoryâŚ
Namely, messing around with level editors as a kid, such as the map design software for Delta Force: Black Hawk Down. Youâd try your best to build your own level, but it would usually end up as a flat, empty feeling space dotted with a few janky buildings, random NPC spawns, and far too many explosive barrels.
Doesnât inspire confidence that the gameplay reveal for First Light brought this particular memory to mindâŚ
I havenât watched the State of Play, trailer, gameplay or anything because I have zero hype for this game. If I get I PS5 it will be for the insane discount their offering (although the actual prices are up) and Nioh 3. I will probably never buy the game, unless it is with 99% off.
Judging by you guysâ posts, this looks like a washed-up WoA with low framerates, odd graphics (I know it is supposed to be Bondâs first year or whatever but I would never take him sĂŠrio with that face) and the usual predatory pricing. It is nice that IOI decided to do something with 007 (I have never watched a movie but anyway), but I have a strong feeling all social interactions are gonna be scripted- just like the Banker, if a single thing goes off tracks the characters straight out T-pose. It looks nice, but it doesnât.
