AMBROSE ISLAND, Andaman Sea (Mission #7) - Location Discussion

Took me like 2 minutes :sweat_smile: The intel picture from the letter literally points you to the spot :no_mouth:

I kept looking around the beach and the backyard of the house since that’s the way the picture was pointed at, and even ran a few times over the spot with no prompt appearing :smile:

Is it just me or does 47/David Bateson doesnt have any new voicelines for this mission? Like most of his replies to agent smith are from hokkaido and all other dialogue, too is also reused from past missions (from what I’ve heard)

There are no platform achievements on any platform, only in-game challenges. It’s a bit disappointing, I was also expecting at least a few Ambrose achievements.

Yea its kinda charming that they repurpose lines like “im known to be the best” while he’s slapping people around

Anyway a small disappointment with the map is they introduce a regular version of the 12G shotgun - thats cool - but what isnt cool is its just the same model as the sawn off

Hopefully can patch the model or at least make it artificially bigger because the whole point of the sawn off is not only is it little enough to be a concealed item but its also yknow sawn off. If the regular version doesnt have the muzzle(? Not a gun guy) sawn off then theres no sawn off to make. Its also a perspective thing so trust me the one that looks bigger is the sawn off i think, and its not actually bigger its just a perspective thing

Hm, didn’t know that. There surely are better ways to kill both targets during the meeting but if you specifically want to drown Akka, then sure. There’s always enough time to setup the cannon kill too. I also didn’t even know the tower’s lights could be turned on with a sniper rifle.

I am halfway through mastery and so far I really like this map. My main catch about maps is how well they are for contracts and while I did not make one yet I can see huge potential:

  • No guard starting location makes No Disguise Change also a No Guard Disguise complication
  • No overpowered guard disguise, each has their own ground
  • Not sure yet if you can enforce the GPS exits but if you can there is a huge number of exits to be cleverly enforced
  • On-map Suit
  • Interesting items like Breaching Charge and Molotov so one could utilize two of each
  • Starting locations types done great: a good few suit starts and one limited disguise in each “castle”
  • Unlike Santa Fortuna we don’t navigate aside or below huge hills you can’t shoot past. Sniping seems very doable in many locations
  • Swiss cheese design for many different routes

It is not perfect though, I prefer maps to not have lethal poisons (so I can use them to limit the loadout) or free guard disguises (so No Pacification is also No Guard Disguise) but still this looks all very promising. Also did not think this map to be so huge.

I really am looking forward to test a few ideas I already have once I reached level 20. Atmosphere-wise I was skeptical with yet another tropical location, but this one has pirate vibes that makes it unique. Reminds me of navigating a Monkey Island …island!

Wait. Is there a 47-suit on the map, or am I misunderstanding you?

The Buccaneer is on the map. I highly suspect that is a suit in contract mode.

This is interesting, some of the Providence members might have Clones in backup.

Might be the first time we get to re-kill a target.

(Unless we count the Marks from Blood Money).

There is also a Haven Island reference with the snorkel instructor outfit being on display in one of the huts. Cant wear it though but still

Well, the Evidence for Farah mission story is officially broken.

If you get the photo first you can just approach her and she goes “oh you’re back” and you can give her the photo instantly without doing any of the other dialog/mini-missions. Doesn’t even require a disguise, which I think it otherwise would.

Well that sucks… Hopefully they´ll fix that in a future update. It´s also kind of weird how you can accept the quest in one suit/disguise and finish it in another. Overall I´m pretty disappointed that the whole mission story doesn´t have a different outcome than if you just put the photo on Akka´s desk.

She also drinks in the shack with the injured pirate, right next to the toilet, so that´s another consumable poison opportunity to do it.

Wouldn´t have thought about it, but I´m glad they included the option (especially since you can combine it with the bomb-through-vent server kill). And I´m certainly glad that I found out about it before running from point A to point B like a lunatic :joy:

Anyone find any use for the rooftop to the house where a certain meeting takes place? It seems an odd choice to have it accessible if it doesn’t do anything.
I was expecting a hatch through the roof or some kind of kill, but it doesn’t seem to be there.
