Ambrose Island - Pre-release Discussion

What about the guilt-into-suicide kill option? Unique, right?

I think that qualifies under the category of being pushed off a building in what @Rimland calls the “usual stuff.”

How do y’all think the camera will be implemented in the map? I think there will be the usual photo challenges, but there will probably also be something to hack around the big tower.

Alternate Chaotic Good Theory : all year two content is free and IO doesn’t intend on releasing anymore major DLC packs for H3.

I agree with the Challenges. Maybe there will be a security clearance near the big tower, and it will work similarly to the various levels of clearance in the ICA lab in Chongqing (activated by using the camera), or the windows in Dubai.

Maybe there will also be an Achievement/Trophy similar to the one in Berlin for taking pictures of all the yellow birds. I’m making a HUGE leap here, and saying maybe take pictures of various sandcastles/boats and/or graffiti for an achievement.

Maybe the camera could also be tied to a mission story like it is in Dartmoor, like collect intel near the tower.

I’m just spitballing ideas on how the camera could get some use on this map.

Yeah, it’s a really weird case right now of IOI teasing all this big content, and not mentioning its supposed price or release method at all. (I’d think if they both were paid, and this is all we’re getting, they’d release a pre-order DLC bundle, to get early sales in)

Granted, that could be some good ol’ fashioned vague IOI communication, or it could be something else.
Guess we’ll see how this rolls out whenever that day comes… Hopefully it’s like 10$(USD) per thing, as many of the other standalone maps have been.

Can’t wait for Hitman 9 3/4

47 slipping through a crowd in a disguise is a visual representation of IO sharing information with the fans.

It would ne nice if Rocky came with a Master SASO challenge. I know i can do that on my own without the challenge, but it would be nice its there for those of us who value these kinda challenges. Like a final test before 47 goes on vacation. Oh and it unlocks the golden suit of course.

Challenge Packs and Escalations were a huge part of Hitman 2 monthly content. But people complained about them so ioi made less for H3. The problem is, they didn’t replace them with anything else. So instead of a change in content, we just got LESS content.

I am quite sure IO did not reduce Escalations but the opposite. Someone willing to count?

Hitman 2 - 32

Hitman 3 - 7

When you include paid Deluxe Edition Escalations & 7DS Escalations:

Hitman 2 - 34

Hitman 3 - 20

That’s fine. I’d rather get no content, than content I don’t want to play.

A difference of 14 isn’t that big of a panic moment.

Plus, we know now that they’ve got big plans for a Year 2.

A whole new location and a mode meant to offer engaging, endless replayability.
And for Freelancer, it would need a lot of content to keep from feeling stale. Which makes their commitment to take their time even better

Well, so long as we’re clear. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

That’s including Paid DLC though.

Hitman 2 had 32 Free Escalations.

Hitman 3 had 7 Free Escalations.

That’s a difference of 25. HUUUUYUUUGEEE. :joy:

I´m kinda 50-50 on it. Yes, target-wise it is unique (and cool), but it also requires you to do the same steps (aside from a different dialogue choice) as if you just wanted to push her off the balcony yourself, which kind of makes it get lost in that category. I find Reynard´s “suicide” by drowning more memorable and unique.

Guess I just had too high expectations for H3 and still haven´t gotten over the fact that it didn´t quite deliver (imo)

Sure. In terms of Free Content, it’s had a lot less for Escalations. I’d argue that the many paid escalations we’ve gotten have had unique elements (added NPCs, props, especially 7DS) and differed from the usual Escalations, so it makes up for the lack of quantity overall.

I’m just gonna say that personally, I think all the Escalations Hitman 3 has released have had unique twists and elements that I greatly enjoyed, and made each one feel distinct.
While playing through the Hitman 2 escalations to get the Escalations Challenge Track done, a lot of that content felt like a series of Contracts Mode levels.
I’m content with it, especially knowing what we’ve got on the horizon, price-to-be-determined.

Yeah, can’t argue with that. I also think the Escalations in H3 (especially the paid ones) were much better content wise than Hitman 1 & 2’s offerings in that department.

My point was, when ioi dumped Escalations and Challenge packs they didn’t replace them with anything else, that’s why the monthly content for H3 has been thin.
