Ask HMF anything

I remember being blown away by the graphics back then, also had a poster from a gaming mag on the door to my room. It had a jumping Raptor on it, great stuff.

I liked this game but the “Twist” with Black Mask is clear from the very first second. Its a shame they always have to stick to the fucking Joker.

I think i have only played 1, 2 and Brotherhood but i haven’t finished it, idk, series got too boring for me

Yep. I’d have no problems replaying it again but only for the main missions.

I wouldn’t have seen it coming if I hadn’t spoiled myself in YouTube videos.

What are you talking about? The Joker is the only Batman villain, other than perhaps Ra’s Al Ghul, who’s even remotely capable of driving a story of that magnitude. The reason they kept using the Joker is because he’s the only Batman villain worthy of putting in that much effort to tell such a story. There’s a reason why most of the other villains were kept to side quests: they don’t have enough to them to be the driving force, beyond brief DLCs.

Hell, I’m not even bothering with those new games that are spin-offs of the Arkham series, because there’s no Joker. When he’s not involved, my interest drops by at least a good 30%.

That’s true, the error lies upon me. I read it as games you like and optional you could name games that aren’t as loved.

So i’ll try again.

Kane & Lynch 2, Castlevania Lord of Shadows, Castlevania Lord of Shadows 2, Star Wars Force Unleashed 2, Batman Arkham Origns and F.E.A.R 2.

I completed Fallen Order 4-5 times now since release. I absolutely love it, such a great game.

Oh, I’m so dumb. I forgot the most obvious one:

Hitman: Absolution.

Nonsense, Absolution doesn’t belong in this category. It’s still better than Blood Money and it doesn’t belong in any category.

Much as I love Absolution, no, I’d have to disagree with you on that comparison; Blood Money is better.

However, the category was games that are disliked, underrated, or misunderstood. That’s absolutely, uh, Absolution.

As much as I hate to say it, you are right. Sadly.

as sad as it is that origins had the joker twist i do get why the joker was the main villain, because the game is the origin of batman and jokers relationship in the arkham universe. Besides cold, cold, heart serves as an amazing joker-less story set in the world and setting of arkham origins.

Best story in the series with the absolute worst gameplay

I really loved Final Fantasy 12 and Final Fantasy 10-2. I know both games aren’t the most fan favourite Final Fantasy games but I really like them. FF12 is actually one of my most favourite games of all time :see_no_evil:

Yup. Everyone else is just Batman’s practice/hobby between bouts.

Hold on… The first Mafia - disliked, hated, or underrated? On what planet?! If you said Mafia III, I would understand (I can even understand why you have GTAIV there), but this? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

No need; they’re aligned to perfection.

hey i doubt that, though joker is a great villain and theres a reason hes so overused hes not the one and only threat batman truly faces.

For me batman villains have 3 categories
Mind
Morals
Body
Joker only fits into the Morals category as his chaos constantly challenges batmans morals. Which is often really interesting but can get tiresome after the 70th society event. this is why he has many other villains that challenge one or more of the other categories.

Ok, I started this and I don’t want to derail the topic further, so I’ll just go with this: I maintain that the Joker is not only the best Batman villain, but the greatest character ever invented in the history of fiction. I’ll give an explanation in the Unpopular Opinions thread at a later time.

For now, you guys, hated games…

i think you need to indulge in more fiction

That’s all I do every day, man. My entertainment is my highest priority in life. Trust me, I’ve thought this out in detail. I’ll explain elsewhere later.
