Fine. I can agree to that.
i rather like this dude’s take.
keaton is my batman too (alongside adam ‘the best’ west).
even so - and i’m saying this as someone who usually avoids following popular sentiment out of cynical principle - heath ledger’s performance in tdk was mesmerising. it was full of subtle little ticks and nuances, it was fresh, he was scary, and he managed to make some really really lame jokes eerily funny.
jack nicholson is one of my all-time favourite actors (cuckoo’s nest, people), but his joker wasn’t his finest performance.
mark hamil is the quintessential joker and i will brook no dissent on the matter.
yeah, post-tdk modern takes on him are, but he’s just as malleable as batman in terms of interpretations.
True which is why Ochoa added the qualifier of edgelords liking him. It makes it pretty easy to narrow down what sort of Joker he is talking about. Never known a nihilist to stan the Golden Age Joker, the world might have forgotten he was called the Clown Prince of Crime for a reason.
Malicious slander. He is the best live action Joker and for that I broker no disagreements.
I like keaton for what he did with Bruce Wayne but i think his batman is a flavourless killing piece of plastic i could do without. Also Mark Hamill is indeed the best joker
We tend to agree on the weirdest things, right?
sure, im just saying he’ll be something else to and by another generation soon enough.
i didn’t say he wasn’t, he’s just done a lot better performances in a lot of other films.
this is amazing
I don’t think it is weird to say Nicholson is a good Joker or even the best live-action Joker. Weird is saying Heath Ledger is boring, so you are still alone there. I am also a huge fan of the Silver Age Joker so I tend to like the Burton films.
Also nobody talks about Jason Sudaekis as Lego Joker, I for one think he did a fantastic job.
One can only hope he just disappears altogether.
I would love Lego Batman far more if it didn’t become a multi-property crossover and continued its incisive look at the Batman universe.
At least that felt more sincere than how they did it in that god-awful Space Jam sequel.
I love how the Lego Batman examines the Batman/Joker relationship like that of unrequited love without hitting you over the head with the concept, and acknowledging how Batman has never actually told Joker to his face that he’s hated him. The look of having his legitimacy recognized at the end was elite.
*zach galifianakis (sp?) and he was ace. the only joker i don’t like is club 27.
Oh I got the wrong Greco-American funny man.
I know that DC will never shelf Joker even if it is for a year but a man can dream right? He might have no reason to be on this mortal coil but he is allowed to dream right?
Does anyone else play through the trilogy in a particular way and pick a suit based on how you’re playing?
Like, if I’m playing through it as a story campaign, as 47, I’ll use the signature suit and it’s variants, or the default suit for the map in question.
But, say I want to do a no load-out playthrough, using whatever weapons are found on the map, I’ll use the Lynch suit, to make it seem like I’m an assassin who’s just a street-level thug who can’t afford his own gear. Or if I want to do a poison-only playthrough (which would include using emetics on targets that don’t consume poison and can’t be stuck with a needle), I’ll wear the Guru suit, as using poisons is implied to be the style of the Guru. Or if I want to do a sniper-only playthrough, I’ll use the Raven suit, to kinda make it feel like a Bourne movie. Or a straight shoot-em-up playthrough, I’ll use the Midnight Black suit like I’m John Wick.
Anyone else do something similar?
I don’t think I have ever done a full playthrough with only one suit except once with the signature suit with gloves. I don’t get to do a lot of full playthroughs though. When Covid first kicked off was the last time I sat down and went start to finish. There just isn’t enough time in a day . I’d love to do another playthrough soon but I doubt it will happen unless I get sick. A couple months ago a few of us were talking about Hidden Valley and At the Gates and it took me like 3 days to even get to those levels in H2SA once I booted it up.
You cracked me up though with Raven Suit Bourne comment.
I know, right?! Swap out the cargo pants for blue jeans and that’s Jason Bourne’s outfit. I swear, if the Motorcyclist suit in Hokkaido is paying respect to Black Mamba, the Raven and Midnight Black suits and both tuxedos are respect to Jason Bourne, John Wick and James Bond, respectively.
I guess 47 needs to show respect to his fellow badass assassins who… actually make him look better, with the embarrassing amount of collateral damage they leave behind.
Yes. I appreciate the role-playing. Did some runs with the ETAs (White Ninja with Tantô / Golden Devil with a shotgun cause it reminds me of the way of playing with the concealed weapon in the briefcase in the level in Vegas). The experience is funnier and immersive, I think. Sometimes, it conditions the gameplay, with a katana for example that you can’t put back in the suitcase - knowing that you aim for SO.
I agree with you.
I´ll consider a one-suit playthrough only if they ever give us the regular ninja oufit…
I actually like to choose the suits I see in the location as a nice default suit sometimes it’s the actual default suit like in Miami or Bangkok. But in Whittleton Creek for example I like to wear the smart casual suit because IMO the suburban suit is too overdressed for this location.
Damn I wish we could dress 47 ( or Grey in my case ) like in The Sims
I use Terminus for my no starting gear runs, the Cashmirian for pure sniper missions, the Undying suit when using a lot of gadgets, and sometimes Freedom Phantom for explosives.
Is there any evidence that Craig Black and Corvo Black are related, other than having the same last names? I read on the wiki somewhere that they’re supposedly brothers?
