While I was watching my nephew graduate from Marine Corp Boot camp last year on 9/10 I managed to miss logging into the forum. I my opinion, this whole issue was caused by this site refusing to finally give me the Devoted badge…
Is it ever mentioned or hinted what Edward Carlisle is a professor of? History? Psychology? Linguistics?
Or for that matter, where he’s teaching?
I always felt it was a humanities subject like English Lit or History or even Music. But I don’t think they ever mention it though for some reason I feel like they do.
In Marrakesh, what is stopping the Moroccan police from just entering the consulate and arresting Strandberg? Diplomatic immunity doesn’t cover Strandberg since he’s not a diplomat or the relative of a diplomat and I don’t think Consul Olander got the Swedish government’s permission to grant Strandberg asylum.
The 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
Which are the international rules you do. not. break. or even partially try to play with.
Article 22:
- The premises of the mission shall be inviolable. The agents of the receiving State may not enter them, except with the consent of the head of the mission.
- The receiving State is under a special duty to take all appropriate steps to protect the premises
of the mission against any intrusion or damage and to prevent any disturbance of the peace of the mission or impairment of its dignity.- The premises of the mission, their furnishings and other property thereon and the means of transport of the mission shall be immune from search, requisition, attachment or execution.
Also Strandberg didn’t asked, or given asylum. He is a swedish citizen.
I think this is the main point; Consul Erik Olander, who’s complicit in Strandberg and Zaydan’s plan, refuses to allow the police in. Until Olander’s recalled by the Swedish government or the Moroccan government declare Olander persona non grata, which would take time as they try to conduct a proper investigation, Strandberg’s safe; at least until 47 shows up.
Good thing for him that Strandberg had that tunnel because Olander would have gotten fired and Strandberg would have been expelled eventually.
Anyway, ChatGPT says:
Generally, no, police cannot enter an embassy without the consent of the head of mission (consul or ambassador) unless there are extraordinary circumstances.
This is primarily based on the principle of diplomatic immunity, which protects diplomatic missions and their personnel from the jurisdiction of the host country.
However, there are exceptions:
- Consent of the Sending State: If the sending state (the country the embassy represents) grants consent, the host state’s authorities may enter the embassy.
- Force Majeure: In cases of “force majeure,” such as to prevent a serious crime or to protect lives, the host state may enter the embassy. This is often interpreted narrowly and requires a clear and immediate threat.
- Emergency: In the case of a serious emergency, such as a fire or a threat to human life, police may enter an embassy to provide assistance.
- Consent of the Head of Mission: If the head of the mission (e.g., the ambassador) consents to a police search, it can be carried out.
- Waiver of Immunity: In rare cases, a diplomat may waive their immunity or that of their mission.
It’s important to note that these exceptions are subject to international law and diplomatic protocols. Any action taken by the host state must be proportionate and in accordance with the principles of diplomatic immunity.
Still, I thought the Moroccan police would be somewhere on the map at least, ready to arrest Strandberg if he is expelled from the consulate. Did Zaydan completely replace them with his soldiers or what?
Small correction on my previous post.
The location on the level is a consulate. So it would be the 1963 Vienna Convention on Consular Relations. Article 31. Which is pretty much the same as the one from its sister convention.
Interestingly enough for you, it includes a provision for one of the circumstances you highlighted.
Art31, 2. The authorities of the receiving State shall not enter that part of the consular premises which is used exclusively for the purpose of the work of the consular post except with the consent of the head of the consular post or of his designee or of the head of the diplomatic mission of the sending State. The consent of the head of the consular post may, however, be assumed in case of fire or other disaster requiring prompt protective action.
(also, don’t trust ChatGPT for this sort of question.)
But Sweden recalling Olander or overriding his decision and ordering Strandberg expelled would have worked, right? Leaves you wondering if Providence had assets in the Swedish government obstructing that.
Also, “where the fuck are the police” is kind of a recurring question in every urban map in the game, especially if it’s a town or city: Sapienza, Marrakesh, Columbia, Mumbai, Chongqing, etc. They always seem to be replaced by security guards, soldiers or gang members.
Given he was doing everything in his power to provoke a riot and that he wanted to run the country as a military dictatorship? I am going to say that is a big fat yes.
Technically yes? But it would be a whole situation. I don’t know to be honest. This is not my domain.
In order:
- Olander went rogue by accepting Strandberg taking refuge in the consulate. This is textual to the level. You can hear a dialogue in the garage telling that the swedish government is furious at his decision.
- Moroccan authorities arresting Strandberg in the consulate is out of the question due to international conventions.
- The consulate is still moroccan sovereign land. If, as told before, under certain protections, restrictions, and rules. So, technically, expulsing Strandberg out of its premises wouldn’t be an extradition. So it would legally be possible.
(for once it’s a a letter of the law, not one possible spirit of it that goes against Strandberg, funnily enough)
But it would be a can of worm to do.
It’s certainly why the level says that Strandberg will be flown out quickly.
Good, interesting thing you brought up.
That was really the only part of that sentence you needed. ![]()

Does anyone have any quick links to the previous multiple posts that IOI have published showing various statistics for ETs (e.g. 62% of players eliminated The Disruptor in a cage match fight etc)? I can’t think of a quick way to search for these myself without a long, exhaustive scroll through the Hitman Twitter feed.
Know that they’ve done this for at least The Disruptor ET, but would be interested to revisit the other previous instances of this too if anyone knows where to find them.
EDIT - found The Drop stats here
