At least I know they aren’t talking to me! I’ve never asked for that!

It’s been way too long and IOI have made so many changes, what’s the state of the Free Access Passes you could claim from previous entries in HITMAN?
It used to be so easy, or at least linear.
Hitman 1’s menu lets you claim “itself” as free DLC for H2. Hitman 2’s menu let you claim “itself + H1” as free DLC for H3 when that came out… But now…??

Someone on reddit is asking what they’re missing to be able to get the entire WoA experience in prep for the PSVR2 version, and honestly I’m just as confused as to what content bundles should be bought or if any of them should still be free to previous owners… idk…

Basically, they asked me this:
(And now I’m asking you guys to help me)

Can you make sense of the situation I’m in? (on ps5)

I already owned Hitman 3 (never played any Hitman).

I didn’t know what I needed, so I bought WoA Part 1 for $3 since I saw a sale.

Downloaded H3, ps5 version (I also own ps4 version)

Can’t download WoA Part 1, when I try, it just directs me to the H3 already on my system.

I then realized I owned H1 and H2, so I downloaded those too. Pretty sure H2 is via PS+, not sure of the others

My IOI account recognizes that I own all 3.

But when I launch H3, the only campaigns I have are H1, and it wants me to buy $40 DLC to get the other campaigns.

Shouldn’t I be able to access them already? I can if I go launch the old ps4 H1 and H2.

To me it sounds like – if they actually bought Hitman 3 Full Game at some point, that entitles them to the standard WoA Bundle of content (excluding the H2 Expansions and H3 DLCs)
But… is that just entitled to them for free on the PSN Store now? Do they have to claim it from the Store tab in-game?

If, they actually didn’t buy Hitman 3 at some point before the rebranding, (like, they only have the Free Starter Pack) and they only bought the Part One bundle – that means they’re locked into needing to pay the X amount of money for the “Part One Upgrade” that I know exists, but I can’t verify any details on price or sales, since it’s an unlisted store page only seen from the in-game menu…

Judging from their words, I don’t think they own the actual H3 game, since if they paid for it before, they should, like you said, own all legacy locations except 2 DLC ones from H2. From the player support website, it says:

From January 26 - 2023 we’re shutting down the location importing.
The reason for this is that with HITMAN: World of Assassination the location importing will be obsolete as we collect everything HITMAN under one roof.

Meaning all owners of HITMAN 3 (HITMAN: World of Assassination)
will automatically have access to HITMAN 1 GOTY, HITMAN 2 Standard and HITMAN 3 Standard, and will not need to use the Location Importing.

So that leaves the possibility of them only owning the H3 free starter pack, which will only grant access to other locations when IOI decides to. And location import doesn’t work anymore, so owning both previous games is also irrelevant. You will have to confirm whether they’ve paid for H3 or not, but my guess is they haven’t.

Yeah… I don’t think that bundle will work with just the free starter pack version of the game.

Right, thanks. I’ll let them know then

Does anyone here use or has experience with using an Alienware laptop? A while back, my friend offered me his (for an appropriately lowered price) since he was upgrading to a new one, and while the model (m17 r3) is not much younger than my regular Acer laptop, it´s much more powerful, so I took him up on his offer, hoping to catch up on games that my Acer can´t quite handle anymore.

I was trying to finally set the thing up the other day and test it out on some games, and while they run fine, the audio from the speakers is just plain garbage (generally low volume, unequal levels/balance between ambient sounds, music, dialogues, etc., as well as the directions the sounds come from just sounding weird).

Now, my Acer would probably be the same or worse without the Dolby Audio app that came with it, but since my friend did a clean reinstall of Windows before handing me the laptop, it´s missing all the bells and whistles so to say which he probably had there when he bought it. I figured it probably needs a Dolby app (or something similar) of its own? I tried looking online and eventually installed the Alienware Command Centre, which is an absolute pain to navigate, and while it does have a section for custom audio FX settings, it made no difference by default and I couldn´t figure out how to make it make a difference (the Dell guide online also mentioned the ACC should have a Dolby Audio activation option, but I found no such thing - in fact, the whole layout of the ACC was completely different from the guide, so I assume it was for a previous version?).

All in all, I spent almost 4 hours with the set-up, updates, and unsuccessfully trying to solve the audio issue before I finally flipped my shit. If there´s someone who could give me some pointers on what to do here (including other stuff I might need to install) before I take it to Reddit or elsewhere, I´d appreciate it :crossed_fingers: (it´s got Win 11 btw)

Talking to my dad, he’s looking for more games for his PS4. He’s been enjoying Sniper Elite 5 and is borrowing my copy of Sniper Elite 4. He also really loved playing the official F1 games. Looking for more stuff he can play.

He’s a bit picky with game choice. He said he’d be looking for something like a good sports game, or something like “a war game”. He really enjoyed the big battlefields in Sniper Elite. Nothing retro, and probably nothing too technical or too hard. Single player only, he doesn’t subscribe to PSN.

Trying to think up a list, also trying to find older PS4 games you can aquire for cheap nowadays so it’s not much of a loss if it’s not his thing. Any suggestions welcome.

That is actually pretty tough, I was going to recommend Battlefield but I don’t know if those battlefield type maps appear in single player.

Who does he main in the latest one? Does he prefer a specific team or a racer?

Also the obvious choice would be Gran Turismo in that case. Or a more arcadey one if there are remasters or classics collections of Ridge Racer (RIP) or Wipeout (Also RIP), sadly no modern arcade racers are truly whole without online if that was the case then The Crew: Motorfest would be viable, it isn’t as good as Forza or GT but a dad would like it well enough.

I feel like RDR2 is the ultimate dad game. Unless he’s not into westerns. There’s also Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 (what a title lol). Basically Sniper Elite in first person and modern day with a lower budget.

Maybe he could try RE2 if he likes horror games? That one is a modern classic imo. If he plays Sniper Elite for the stealth, maybe The Last Of Us could scratch that itch. Especially 2.

RDR2 is fucking annoying. RDR1 is the better game.

It’s pretty out of character for you to be less fond of a sequel, mate.

shut your damn mouth boah! they’re both great :cowboy_hat_face: :racehorse:

Look, i prefer RDR1 because it’s more “gamey” than 2. Why does 2 regularly take my weapons away and put it on the damn horse? Why are almost all animations so realistic and long that it gets annoying to loot houses and collect skins of animals?

Also there a lot of things were i like the Sequels more than the first. Return of the Jedi is my favorite Star Wars Movie, Resident Evil 2 is better than the first game :hugs:

Your reason for disliking it is completely valid. I hated it too and quit playing it. Then I picked it up a few years later and it all made sense. It’s an acquired taste for sure but if you want to play a cowboy simulator it’s amazing. No game does what it does.

As a dad, I can confirm that.

Nah, he needs to get into the modern God of War games, now that’s the ultimate Dad game because its all about being a Dad.

Thank you for the suggestions everyone but he said he wasn’t really interested in any of the titles suggested. I guess for more context, my dad is a bit stubborn and he has no real knowledge of the gaming scene. He only got an internet router 2 years ago. My dad has always done a bit of casual gaming, particular years ago when he had a PS2. I think he remembers that generation when World War 2 shooters were all over the place and a mountain of different racing games.

So I think he’s longing for those types of games that just aren’t really made anymore. That and his own stuborness means stuff like RDR2, which personally I think there is a good chance he would like, he just writes off.

So as it stands he just wants the new Sniper Elite when that comes out next year, and may pick up the newest F1 title when that comes down in price a bit. I am considering going on eBay, setting myself a budget, and seeing if I can get a bunch of cheap PS4 games for him for his Christmas, as a sort of “hey, maybe you’ll like this?” bundle. We’ll see closer to the time.

As an aside, I’ve still yet to play RDR2. Need to get around to it. Just everything I’ve heard about it being more “realistic” with stuff just sounds tedious to me.

If you can, maybe try and find a second-hand copy of DriveClub for PS4.
They’re usually pretty cheap over here in Canada anyway. It’s a gorgeous Arcade racer, lots of tracks to pick from, plenty of cars included.
But it is a bit of a shell of its former self, since the servers are turned off and DLC delisted, so you’ll find quite a few things in the menu unavailable to use…

Still, what’s there is great fun even just solo. There’s a basic “campaign” mode that offers lots of time trials and races.
There’s still some sort of progression with a Player Level feature that unlocks more cars the more you play it.
All added tracks in the game were added through updates so there’s lots of content there in terms of race variety.
There’s a “random race” option on the main menu that instantly picks a track, time of day, weather condition, and car type and shoves you into a race, it’s pretty nifty and fun just for a pick-up-and-play session.

When it comes to reacing games I think I only enjoyed the Need for Speed ones with extensive visual tuning (Underground titles for example) and Burnout.
I think I only played Burnout Revenge actually, which exists for the PS2 if he wants to give it a try.
Dunno if Burnout Paradise is actually good too but that one seems to be remastered for PS4.
