Ask HMF anything

Yeah it’s doing that for me as well also a few topics are showing as unread for me even though I’ve already read them

I get ya. I also do that all the time, wait until I’m sleeping to start stuff, it’s quite normal actually.

Not for me, but my HMF is kinda glitchy naturally so

I’ve been getting that yeah. Likes seemed to be notifying normally, but anything else - replies, new posts in watched topics, etc. were massively delayed and only now coming through.

Do the Providence Heralds, pre-Hitman 2, know that the Partners are the ones in charge? Or do they assume that it’s the Constant?

Yuki Yamazaki references the Partners, and their position as decision makers, during one of her conversation with the Gama Hospital Director.

Well, that is the plan. In the past, there has been little cross-disciplinary collaboration between the businesses we control, but the Partners are changing all that. Companies like Kronstadt and Ether are now working together, producing cutting-edge results that will never go public or reach the market. Soon, Gama is able to perform medical miracles unavailable anywhere else, such as radically enhancing a person’s life span, and access will be limited to clients of our choosing.

RIP Carl Ingram, you would have loved the guy who tried to use his son’s blood as a panacea.

Ahh, thank you!

Yeah, the Heralds all knew about the Partners, just not who they were, and probably not how many there were. They also probably didn’t know the nature of their authority, whether they actually held direct authority over the Constant and the Providence resources, or if they were secretly lower members of Providence who influenced the Constant’s decisions through majority decision and each having their own little contribution to the overall resources of the organization, but the Constant being the only one with direct power, more like constituents for an elected official than board members directing a CEO.

So, I played a Freelancer campaign this week-end, and chose to play it with the Golden Contender Suit. Because it happens to be a bit of a guilty pleasure suit of mine, for all its tackiness.

Which got me thinking: what are everyone go to non-conventional suit in the game?
(bonus if its a bit of a guilty pleasure suit)

(that is not from Classic, Formal, Coats, Casual, or Tactical. But from Themed, Deluxe, Freelancer, and Deadly Sins)

I really like the scarlet suit, formal hunting attire, trendy tourist suit and the ancestral hunter suit

I love the duck hoodie bc it’s paired with slacks and dress shoes :joy:

Reminds me of a professional who’s stopped at a less dressy event on his way home with zero time to change.

You know what I would like to play? A game based on the old Adventure Movies, like Voyages of Sindbad and clash of the titans.
The monster could even move like in the old stopmotion movies, that would be so cool.

Why do some members have their usernames in grey while others have it in white?

I think it’s probably because they are a new user so whenever they get a higher trust level they’ll probably get the white name

Did Soders and Valliant work as agents at the same time? If they did, could they have known about each other?

Not likely. According to their bios, Soders had to stop being an agent in the early to mid 80s because of his heart condition, and then became the training director. Valliant, on the other hand, was in his prime and a top asset for ICA before they sanctioned a hit on him, and the timeline given indicates this was shortly before 47 joined the agency, making his active years during the 90s. So at best, Soders may have overseen Valliant’s initiation into the agent program, but it’s very improbable that they were peers of each other during their years in the field.

What’s up with members of this forum adding Likes to posts seemingly at random? I’ll be visiting the forum at any given point, and see a Like on a post that’s a week old and was a very generic message in a conversation. Or a Like on a more recent post that has no real reason to get a Like. The people Liking it won’t even be part of the conversation, so it makes no sense to me why they would insert themselves there, especially when that insertion adds absolutely nothing to the conversation, positive or negative.

Take this for example, that person was not mentioned at all, nor were they part of the conversation.
(Ignore MagicDave, he created the topic so he has a good reason to be there.)

Or this, that person wasn’t part of the conversation at all.
If they wanted to insert themselves into it, they could have sent a message talking about Displate or Hitman merch, no?

Screenshot MK2: Electric Boogaloo

There are other examples of much more minor/generic things being Liked, but I have either deleted the messages or they have been buried behind more recent notifications.

Is this some trend I don’t understand since I’m not active on the forum? Is it just my posts happening to be the ones seen by the badge farmers? I don’t really get the apparent obsession with giving and receiving Likes on this forum, and have never seen it on similar sites, so I’m a bit confused here.

Edit: Just to clarify for anyone who skimmed the paragraphs, I’m not talking about Likes on posts that were funny or important to the conversation, I’m talking about posts that were very minor and forgettable parts of a conversation.

Edit 2: Sorry if anyone feels called out, I just screenshotted the first two posts I saw that seemed like good examples.

I should be able to answer it, since it was my like.

Okay, This one you shared a link to what a member was looking for. I’d consider this a helpful post, hence to show a bit of appreciation, I gave a like, even if I didn’t directly participate in such discussion. Look, if it bothers you, I will be careful of what post I should like or not next time.

I appreciate being able to get an answer from someone who added one of the Likes I was confused by, thanks for responding.

I guess I see where you’re coming from, although I don’t really feel that it’s worth any special mention/treatment/whatever. So the Likes are often used to say “good job on this post” then? If yes, what do you think was the cause for likes on posts that were not important to the topic/conversation? (Unless you don’t know or prefer not to answer.)

I wouldn’t really say that it bothers me when I get these random Likes, it just feels a bit weird to see that someone was necro-Liking my posts, or to see that someone decided to insert themselves into a conversation in this way. And your Like wasn’t a great example of what I was talking about, it’s just one of the first ones I saw. So I apologize if I upset you by making your Like seem as though it was an issue.
