I’m going on the assumption that he’s not just churning them out like crazy because it’s not likely it would have such a huge following if he wasn’t taking at least some care with the stories, and because he’s probably dragging his feet a bit, not being eager to continue the series, even if he has nothing else to do but write. All just assumption, but based on his info, it’s the most likely scenario as I see it, that he had the first few written before the first was published.
Steven King was very busy, even adopted a pen name to publish his others books. Because of the perception that one couldn’t possibly put that much work without it being awful.
You can write a lot in that time especially if it is the sort of book the Cassandra Snow books read like. The real reason is that it is a holdover from Black’s original premise as an ET where the books were ghostwritten (and there were only four published at the time) with Black’s hit being commissioned by the ghostwriter wanting to take control of the series back from him.
It just also makes sense that someone could crank out six books in three years even if they hated the series so IO just sort of left that part as is because it is plausible to write that much in such time.
One other possibility…
Maybe he only wrote the first couple and then went to a helper writer like how the Robert Ludlum and Tom Clancy series continue to be written to this day? Maybe he actually only wrote 1,2 and the most recent one?
I been considering rebuying the HITMAN III on steam. I got part 1 and 2. When H3 was released on EGS, you had to move your data to that platform. Back then it was a one way street, is that still the case? or are unlocks now “cross platform”?
I might have missed if they changed it, so I’ll rather reach out and ask.
From my knowledge, nothing changed.
And if you already did a progress transfer, you can’t do that again.
It’s a one-off thing
Oh well. That sucks, hm. I’ll consider if I want to rebuy the game. I’ll lose a lot of progress and suits.
No neccisito Mano! You have the game. IO are doing well. Spend it at the local pub.
I had H2016 and H2 on Steam and bought H3 (with everything else) on Epic when it came out. Did the transfer and played only on Epic for a while. A few months ago I bought everything missing on Steam as well and started again from scratch. Don’t regret it. It’s fun to get all the achievements and unlocks again with the knowledge I have about the game now. Found new joy in Hitman after I’ve got a bit bored out playing with everything unlocked on Epic.
I am American, but also a French speaker. I am going to start playing this Clair Obscur game some people have talked about. How should I play it?
- French audio with French subtitles
- French audio with English subtitles
- English audio with or without subtitles
As someone who doesn’t speak French, I really like the French voice actors, so I don’t think there’s a wrong choice.
But there’s a reason Jennifer English is winning a ton of awards. Her performance is amazing and Andy Serkis has somehow flown under the radar as maybe my favorite antagonist in games.
Gotta be French & French for full immersion ![]()
Thanks yall for the opinions. I get the general impression that the English version is a better English version than the French version is a French version.
I could have sworn I put “1 option max” on the poll but I guess not, haha.
Next question: has anyone played the STYX games? There’s a sequel coming out soon, I own both games on Steam but have never played them, and they’re coming free to Epic Game Store next week (grab em and forget!) … so this game is in my sights now, and from what I gather it’s fairly decent? Any lovers or haters out there?
Guess you’ll just have to play it twice then. They say however many languages you speak, that’s how many people you are right?
I did! They’re indeed pretty fun. Overall I probably liked the first one more than the second (mostly because of its plot twists) but they’re both worth playing if you’re into stealth games (and if you’re playing Hitman you probably are). They’re also frequently available in bundles for peanuts, but if you’re getting them for free you don’t really have to care about that.
Stick Drift Issue
My PS5 controller is sick with some phenomenon called “Stick Drift”, some ghostly figure turns my right analog stick towards left side intermittently while gaming and misses my shots and sometimes the character rotates anticlockwise when standing still - like a dog trying to catch their tail ![]()
I checked on internet and it says to fix it by upgrading to Hall Effect Sensor. Maybe the Carbon Film sensor weared off.
Does anyone has faced these issues and solved this kind of issue - seems these happens in X Box too. Has anyone upgraded to Hall Effect and any feedbacks?
Some memes ![]()
I got tired of losing controllers to drifting, sometimes in less than a year (although in my case it was always the left stick that drifted, blame third person games when you have to hold “up” pretty much all the time), so I bought a Hall effect one a couple of years ago. No drifting so far despite hundreds of hours of use in games like Hitman or Elden Ring (however, RB is kinda broken but that’s hard to avoid when you spam attacks with it :/). Why all Hall effect isn’t the standard for controllers (despite the technology being available since the 90s) is beyond me, I guess more controllers broken = more controllers sold -_-
I had intermittent stick drift on a PS2 controller for about ten years and assumed I was the only one. I recently replayed MGS4 - a game where movement gives you away - and the left stick started to drift, causing the character to twitch about (ruining countless playthroughs).
I complained about it to a friend and she went “Oh you mean stick drift?”
"It’s a recognized phenomenon? o.O " I was suffering in silence for so longer, never buying a new controller because I’d adjusted to the problem! ![]()
100 % true in all cases…. the electronics items from 90s was the best.
But then companies learned to sell multiple times - same case with modern days telivision, fridge, car etc…etc… it’s a legal scam ![]()
I will install hall effect at an electronic shop next month maybe.
You certainly never owned N64 controllers. ![]()
