Baltimore, Maryland, DEATH OF A SHOWMAN (Mission #0) - Discussion Thread

Every time I play Blood Money, I hate this level more and more. Not only is it awful as a tutorial, since it doesn’t even encourage you to get SA (which is surprisingly tough to do in this level), but it’s so slow and not fun at all to play.

I even prefer Absolution and Codename 47’s tutorial to this one.

Codename 47s tutorial mission is awesome, especially thematically

Oh yeah, for sure. The theming is good but it’s 99% a shooting range and then the other 1% is basically putting on a disguise. As a tutorial it does nothing to help you, which is pretty bad for the first game, but it does set the scene and the story well.

Yeah I always found it weird how you wouldn’t normally get the silent assassin rating but the cutscene after you complete the mission shows that 47 did do it silently.

Which again is weird because you wouldn’t normally get the silent assassin rating and you really have to go out of your way to get it.

It’s due to the canon deaths/events surrounding the targets are done silently.

To be fair it’s isn’t really that hard to get SA on any difficulty in the majority of the games, especially BM.

The funny thing is in the Freelancer safehouse, you can find the newspaper, but it’s “lunatic kills 17” there.

(there is a second one, for the A New Life level, with a specialist rating)
