To be pedantic, I did say they were the “smallest” levels in Hitman 3. Berlin is definetly medium sized in comparison to China and Mendoza, both of which are quite large levels.
Berlin was smaller than Chongqing? Chongqing definitely felt smaller to me. Regardless, I would’ve liked it if Berlin and Chongqing were bigger.
Guess it’s a matter of perspective really. Berlin is definetly wider than China, but China has more floors, and in my opinion, has just a little bit more variety of stuff packed into it. Feel like Berlin has alot of empty space as well, like the Biker builder isn’t really filled with that much stuff, alot of the outside is empty, stuff like that.
I still really like Berlin mind, and I think if it was bigger, it would hurt the 10 target concept. The 10 targets all need to be near each other for it to work.
I did exactly the same thing! I haven’t tried again to find out how to do the kill yet, but 47 is at least a superstar DJ… here we go!
I guess Berlin has to be medium since maps like Mumbai exist, but it certainly feels large in general IMO.
Welp I discovered all areas but didn’t get the “discover Berlin” challenge. Seen some others warn of this, maybe should have put it off. Oh well, let’s hope IOI can give it to us.
Well, technically it was the other way around
T-47 Challenge was fun as hell.
I’m not sure if this is a bug or not because I’ve never seen it happen. Extremely close call. Watch SA indicator.
Just learnt about the UFO exit on this mission, you are required to take a photo of the UFO and numbers on the wall by the allergy pills guy and when exiting you input 1993 on a pay phone by the petrol/gas station at the very beginning of the level. Thought it was a really cool easter egg that I don’t believe has been brought up here.
First level in this game that I got to level 20 on.
Just discovered that you can be the club owner in my last run and it felt satisfying ending my initial grind in such a fun way.
And now I have this suit to show off in every level, move over Paris fashion; this is a good look.
Have you guys noticed that the guy who’s looking for his dope “allergy pills” Zigler or whatever his name is has a barcode in the back of his head? what’s up with that?
Also in the chill out/juice bar area outside there’s a birdhouse above a gnome, if you use instinct there seems to be something highlighted inside the birdhouse. Possible easter egg? I haven’t looked at the easter egg thread but just some things I’ve noticed while playing.
What I love about this suit, is that they’ve used normal gloves and not the inferior driving gloves
I just played this level for the first time today & I gotta say, Wow.
The atmosphere & the level design are great.
I love the Hunter/Hunted feel(not the mission)
The thrill of stalking your targets through a crowd & offing them in a quiet bathroom delivers in a way the other missions don’t quite manage.
I think the change of pace of going from high society to this kind of level
definitely helps.
Yeah even as a huge fan of these “world of assassination” games I was starting to feel a bit fatigued playing Dubai, but this one was a super nice change of pace in both style and gameplay.
The controller vibrates at one spot in the woods, next to the steel parts and the small pond. I already discovered the easteregg with the gold götze and the chair, but I dont think it’s connected with each other?
I tried to bring a shovel, but nothing happened.
Edit: You need to stand exactly on the right spot, only then it’s possible to dig.
I’ve started to enjoy playing this mission more due to being able to choose different targets every time. They should have still done something more with most of them, especially Banner, Green and Tremaine (though Banner has the best kill in the entire franchise). But now when I’ve discovered some methods I didn’t know about earlier, for example, serving a poisoned drink to Chamberlin and kicking piles of bricks onto Davenport and Thames, I enjoy the mission more than I did after my first couple of runs. Still definitely not my favorite one, but I appreciate IO trying out a new idea, though I don’t get the “hunter and hunted” vibe as much as I would have wanted (because the agents are idiots and merely act like normal guards lol).
I actually liked the high-end maps, maybe Dubai is tiresome, but Miami or Sapienza are cool and were not that kind of map, it was a mixture of things. I guess that’s why i like Mendoza or Chongqing in Hitman 3.
Surprised folks haven’t mentioned this (apologies if I missed this) but Berlin also reminded me of the old Hitman 2: Silent Assassin mission: “Temple City Ambush.” Same concept, 47 knows there are assassins looking for him, but he doesn’t know who they are.
I have to think this was an intentional callback for fans.
Most of the targets have kind of tedious or awkward methods to set up but there are 5 that flow very well one after the other and require little to no time waiting around or knocking out several npcs to get to.
The 5 targets I kill in order are:-
- Price (woods at the start)
- Thames (shoot car and kill him as he investigates alarm)
- Lowenthal (emetic poison food then drown him in toilet as he throws up)
- Green (turn off fuse box and kill him as he investigates)
- Montgomery (call from club owner’s phone, hide in the office then when he investigates the back room shoot him)
The Montgomery kill is brilliant because he goes into the back room of the club owners office searching for 47 and looks down into a sewer type hole and if you shoot him in the back of the head he falls down into the hole every time.
