Well I obviously did see that one comming.
Iâm not very fond of him, I must admit
I can understand that. My problem is more with the fact that your theory doesnât explain why we should oof Grey.
I will admit that at some point I started to believe that he works directly under the Constantâs orders. It may seem overly complicated, but along the way they disposed of many Providence people that maybe the Constant didnât want around while giving some freedom to Greyâs militia to carry on some more hits. Then they disposed of the militia. And now, after the hits on Athena, Haven and the Providence leaders, the Constant is finally able to shape the whole thing as he wishes.
This involves a lot of false flag operations and trickery. Which is what the Constant does all the time.
I think there were some unexpected events like the death of Soders. But overall I think everything was a benefit for the Constant:
He got rid of IAGO and took all their info via Grey.
He got rid of untrusty people like Caruso, Francesca, General Zaydan, Cobbs, Strandberg and Thomas Cross.
He got rid of potential opposition within the militia: Sean Rose and some other prominent militia members.
(he lost Yuki and Soders unexpectedly)
Then he got rid of more people linked to the militia and Providence: Alma Reynard, Sierra Knox and her father, the remnants of the Delgado cartel and the Maelstrom along with his allies.
He got rid of Janus, who knows too much, and the Washington sisters whom he didnât favour to lead Providence.
He destroyed the âoldâ Providence chances of getting away via the hits on Athena and Haven.
His only loose ends are 47, Diana and maybe Olivia Hall (assuming sheâs not an accomplice of Grey)
Now the Constant is able to rebuild Providence and shape the world as he wishes with Grey as his right hand man.
âIf it seems like a conspiracy, it probably isnâtâ
While I kinda like this theory. I donât like the idea of Grey wanting power and being a âright hand manâ . There is no doubt in my eyes that Grey hates providence and the people behind it for what they did to him. I can see Grey going in a deal with the Constant to help him take over and remove the old Providence with the people who hurt him while at the same time helping the Constant in his quest for power. A win-win situation in their eyes.
Good theory. There is speculation that the story takes a heck of a twist after Dartmoor, maybe this is when Grey and the Constant show their âHidden Handâ (referenced in the tornado shelter at the end of Freedom Fighters) and their collusion is revealed
I still hold hope that all my boy Shadow Boy aka Lucas Grey aka 6 really wants is to hang out with 47 and kill some people together. And if that means Providence goes down, cool beans. However, if he dares to stand in the way of 47 and Dianaâs subtle romance, Shadow Boy will be Shadow Dead.
I have no idea what to expect so Iâm going with whatever IO had planned and hope to enjoy it.
Iâm very nervous about where this story goes for the characters after seeing all this, but now I need to use the bathroom.
Man, I hope shirtless 47 is an unlock. Iâm looking forward to run around Hokkaido only with trousers and some detached wires!
Elusive reward: Shirtless 47 with driving gloves

If you look carefully at the pictures one of the pictures has what appears to be a house like building. So I do not think the train is the entire map.
I also agree it appears 47 has been captured alive, possibly for recloning. Does this mean Diana betrays him? It would imply Grey is killed.
I am intrigued by the âcountdown to 47â trophy. My guess is 47 is doing something to prevent others discovering his body for cloning.
May as well paste what I wrote over in the Achievements List thread; so spoilers if you havenât read the levelâs 4 achievements or whatever it has
- Obviously disappointing about the 5 level mastery
- I actually feel slightly better about them doing a train; Iâm not someone whoâs wanted a train level but I know itâs something some fans have requested over the years on Reddit. Just glad itâs doing something new and isnât a run-down abandoned asylum. I donât think it will be a level I (or many) end up playing much because like all the critics of those Reddit posts pointed out: itâs literally a linear level, and thatâs usually Hitman at its worst
- Iâm pretty sure no achievement has ever required the player to kill a non-target, therefore since youâre required to kill guards for an achievement this is an âeveryoneâs a targetâ mission, or at least âno oneâs a non-targetâ
- You clearly start off the level as some sort of prisoner; thatâs fine for story mode but terrible for Contracts mode. In fact like the only other 5 level mastery map in the series, it might not even have contracts mode unless some nerd spends 7 months going on about it all the time. This is bad considering contracts mode always ends up being all the game has to keep going when the devs arenât releasing new stuff.
- Also related to above, howâs that gonna work with Escalations and Elusive Targets? You happen to start every single one off as a prisoner? What would an ET on a train even be like? Instead of target being in the last cabin theyâre in the third last cabin? Maybe they could do a bonus mission where itâs daytime and itâs a civilian train and youâre not a hostile but thatâs not gonna happen
- Itâs possible thereâs some sort of extra parts of the map where you start and/or finish the train ride and get to walk around on the ground, but Iâd rule out starting the train ride since youâre allegedly unconscious And as for getting off the train at the end⌠makes things too weird for non-story mode⌠if your target is at the destination then what, you just sit on the train and wait 20 minutes to arrive? Eh.
The train might have been chosen to force players into a particular linear situation (though there will be stealth options this will be very difficult).
Hitman 3 is not penalising players anymore for not taking a âsilent assassinâ approach which i think is a good step
Iâm not reading all of that, but regarding Mastery, I hope they make up for it in terms of items, and about ET - I guess theyâll spare it for this location.
I have a feeling that because of that, the location in China will have 35 masterys. Because it looks like for me that this location could be the biggest map, so maybe IOI give us more mastery level than 20 in China for example.
no
This mission may surprise me and it could be great, but I am a little nervous about it. I never liked the linear action packed endings to earlier games and I personally felt like Situs Inversus and The Ark Society managed to have narrative focused approaches with their objectives while maintaining the same approach to other missions. What you did felt tied to the story explored earlier and were more than just âhere are some random targetsâ. I was hoping for something like that but on the other hand TRAIN TIME!
I am expecting no elusive targets, escalations or contracts mode here unless fans bring it up for ages. And when that does happen we will finally get shirtless 47 with driving gloves.
