I was really disappointed that she has the same voice and uses the same lines as the female civilians in Hitman 2016. I wonder if she says anything unique at gunpoint or if she just uses the same lines as Penelope Graves/Sister Yulduz
I love this map. It makes me nostalgic for obvious Hitman: Codename 47 reasons, but the synth wave/cyberpunk vibes also remind me a lot of Blade Runner, another franchise I love.
And there’s a third franchise connection I see I want to talk about here.
Was anyone else reminded of Deux Ex? I felt the level in Hong Kong resembled the atmosphere in Chongqing in so many ways:
Destitute people in the streets
A few commerces open
The walkways by the riverside and leading away from the station reminded me a lot of the canal distict
Everything on the outside looks antiquated and derelict, aside from the neon lights.
Crawling through vents: never been done so extensively in the Hitman series before, was a huge thing in Deus Ex. Same goes for hacking in general.
Under that old and dark facade lies a wildly modern complex full of light: Versalife - ICA Data HQ
Data Core and Universal Constructor share similar architecture
The liften collar on 47’s Neon Suit could be a nod to Denton’s outfit.
Probably a stretch, but still, the list is there and looks pretty objective to me.
In any case, I’m going to enjoy this map a bit more before moving on to Mendoza.
Royce sounds exactly like Graves who in turn sounds like a lot of civilians. The VA’s voice is really distinct unless I am hard of hearing. I didn’t really think it suited Royce.
I really love the level, not a big fan of the mission it self. In many ways it reminds me of Marrakech, a great and stunning level that shined more in it’s Bonus mission DLC then main mission. I hope to see Chongqing get a similar treatment. I enjoyed the Deluxe Escalation mission a lot more then the actual mission.
I bet you looked over that one vent like I did? It’s quite easy to miss. Was busy KO’ing guards (their AI becomes quite challenging once they put the masks on) messing things up every time, having to play through that cutscene again, only to find that non-burning vent on my tenth try.
I’ve discovered 3 npc (guards) in the ICA facility that only show up in the map after you access the data core. If you want to make a contract with these three guys Hush and Imogen have to die. You can’t just stuff them into a closet. On a side note It’s a shame I couldn’t make an actual kill everyone contract in the Isle of Sgail with those knights that show up when everyone else is dead. Having no saves is kinda tough, I’m thinking maybe it’s too much cacarnage for iO to consider having in their game.
Technically though I just thought I overlooked them, especially because on of them had compromised me.(No clue how though, he was on the Roof near Hush’s Place when I killed him as the last NPC.)
