I’m doubtful for a Jan 2026 release to be fair. I think it was on the IOI livestream after their showcase when they said they are still finding ways to make it work, which makes me think it will be later in 2026 as there still working on it. Plus, I’m hoping they’ll be a big highlight on the 10-Year Anniversary of HITMAN 2016 in March next year for the WOA trilogy, so I’m hoping they don’t launch the remaster trilogy near that as I wouldn’t know which to put my attention on

Classic trilogy holds a special place though, but I love the WOA trilogy as well.

Pretty sure that was just them covering up accidentally revealing it at the Showcase. If it was something that was at one stage planned to be revealed there, it would be well past the “can we make it work?” stage.
You wouldn’t (well, you shouldn’t) plan to announce something and then start on the discovery work.
That only holds true if the classics don’t already suck in the first place.
I really have no idea where I’m going with this, btw, as nothing we’re talking about here applies to this, I just felt it needed to be mentioned.

Well, this reveal is surprising but also not a lot. I don’t have high hopes that the original 3 games will receive a lot of love from IO, maybe just an HD re-release on PS5, Xbox (whatever the latest edition is) and a new bundle on PC.
Would really be surprised if IO manages to update graphics, refine gameplay and give proper respect to the original trilogy given the 25th anniversary.

Wait a minute. @Combatglue spoke with a Team Beef dude months ago about VR versions of the original titles, and they mentioned that the Glacier engine could be problematic.
Perhaps these remasters will help address those issues and make it viable!

If it does not include legacy titles, why are their images included in the promotion? And why emphasize the 25th anniversary in that case as well, while only including WoA material? Misleading.

A shadowbox is when you are performing boxing moves without an actual opponent, as if you are boxing with your shadow.

In the military world it’s a picture frame but it’s like an inch or 2 inches deep and it has a persons medals, rank insignia, and sometimes a flag in it.
In the last few years they have become popular with homemakers as a “do it yourself” decoration.

So they are releasing a “deluxe edition” in a super special steelbook, 4/5 years, whatever it is, after the release of Hitman III? Seems appropriate for IOI. But don’t think it’s anything to do with the potential remasters of the originals, which were listed for 2026, the artwork is just for the anniversary and nothing else.
