Apparently, a character selection menu was intended (see the beginning of this video):
Yeah it seems the Meerkat and Viper (both are codenames) side missions in Sapienza were intended to be played as Knight which at that time was an alternative male agent that also seems to be actually called Carlos if we believe what it says in the files
we know there was a female agent variant in the works too so I wonder what her name would’ve been
Also just exported the face textures from this Alpha and he looks much smoother than in the other one, which does resemble his look from the 2015 Gameplay Trailer
In the mobile game the 3 options are 47, Knight, and Stone. Stone is a woman so I bet that was who it would be.
I’d really like to know how you enable the ‘Debug Options’ in said video. Been trying to figure it out for the last day or two…And I assume there’s no free-cam in this build?
Knight is the female character
which makes it interesting as the character likely being refered to as Knight in the Alpha is a black male and as we all know, that ended up being how Stone looked like so they probably already had those names but inverted them in the end
You can turn it on in the settings while in the game under Debug Options > Show Debug or start the game with “ConsoleCmd Render_ShowDebug” set to 1 in engine.ini
First option is absent for me (doesn’t appear in the menu at all) and the second I’ll try later today
I love this thread and thank you for sharing!
I love that last picture. Looks like an early idea for the auction or maybe even a private fashion show. Those stairs to the table are interesting.
Something I found very interesting was the sniper mission (Viper)'s TTS briefing mentioned that the target was “Maximillian Krycek”, a member of the Church of Ascendants. They were mentioned a few times in 2016 but basically vanished after that; seems like that’s what they were meant for.
Max Krycek himself is actually one of the “conspiracy photos” in the Colorado bunker, according to the models’ file names, so we know what he looked like!
(top middle here)
I also found a few neat things in the early version of The Icon - a helicopter crash with flameproof stuff that could be sabotaged (a bit like the vodka opportunity in The Source) and a really big fan that could be used to blow the target away (like in Mumbai)
It’s always neat to see how they reuse these old ideas :]
After revising my thoughts, this is the least troubling way I could put this. I can only imagine that human trafficking is involved.
I sorta assumed the same; that would have been a wild way to start the game off. I like the way they ended up going though. Dalia sells secrets and Grey needed all of them to start his war.
Side note: everyone in the room seems to be holding their arms at 45 ° angles out and down in an unnatural way. Maybe instead of slaves it was some sort of weird cult ritual that was gonna take place?
I know Tim Quinn has had quite a few makeovers, but daaaaamn… Don Yates must have one hell of a plastic surgeon ![]()
The Michael Jackson special ![]()
I think the ones from legacy games are on the other wall where Grey is tracking 47’s assassinations, so assuming they had that idea it’d be a given that they were dead/“crossed out” but not sure about Francesca
That was my thought when I first saw it, it’s even more interesting when you know that a cut character (stone tablet customer) had a hood on his head, which ended up being used on the prisoner in Marrakesh
And above the helicopter also seems to be the original light rig for Paris:
The image is used by the security camera monitors, that’s just how the NPCs look like on the map when the game isn’t running ![]()
I think that’s just an A pose, like Luiluix said. A bit like a T-pose, but in more of an A shape, as you can guess :p
Sometimes you can catch the crowd NPCs in Mendoza doing it if you get the game to pause first frame after loading in (for example by tabbing out on the loading screen)
They’ve whitewashed Don Yates?
