DLCs unaviliability in Russia

It has come to my attention that Hitman: WOA DLCs are no longer avaliable in steam in Russia.

They don’t show up in steam list for Hitman DLCs, there are only Starter pack and full game:

If I try to open the link to DLC via Hitman’s store or from web search, it says that “This item is currently unavailable in your region”

I don’t wish to start any political debate, it is quite common that companies retract something from our region. @Combatglue, I hope this is the right ping, I just wish that there is an official statement regarding this state, is all

This is very recent: I was purchasing the DLCs for some time, I have all of them except this Banker one:

I’m pretty sure you need a VPN to play online in Russia, and so removing the DLC from store - and eventually the full game - so that paying customers are not potentially “robbed” out of content, seems like the idea so far. It’s sad, really, but it is what it is.

VPN til the war’s over  I recommend pinging to Switzerland to avoid NATO-aligned countries that might get you pinged in another way. Just be prepared for your ads to be in German, French and Italian

I feel very sad that you are limited from gaming for **** political reasons or whatever

We’ve somehow had a similar issue recently with The Disruptor Pack where it got delisted because of sexual abuses and stuff:

I hope that you will be able to purchase the content you like in a way or another :+1:

Nope, didn’t need it for a year now

VPN doesn’t solve the issue, region is hardcoded into steam account. And changing it kinda violates the rules of steam and will get me banned(

Thanks for the support) Yes, I have been finding ways of sneaking around, so I’ll figure it out)

I am mostly puzzled by the timing of the decision: like… it has been some time. Weird decision to make a “statement” now)

It’s possible it’s just a coincidence  I know a ton of services are unavailable - including really bizarre ones - but it may be a tech issue. Can you raise a ticket?

Perhaps? You mean on steam?

I will try doing that then, great tip!

If you are really located in Russia, there are many ways to legally purchase unavailable content on Steam. And by the way, using a VPN will not lead to a ban, but it also won’t solve your problem

As I said, merely VPN doesn’t work. Paying from another region often requires a debit card from another country. I will seek for other ways, but trust me, there is some additional work to be done than turning on VPN)…

No, you won’t need a card from another country. As I already said, there are many ways to do this using rubles
