DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (Mission #1) - Location Discussion

The man by the counter will leave after a minute or so, and around this time the lady will turn her back which should give you some time to make it to the elevator shaft

You can always just panic everyone in the lobby. Quickly shoot someone in the body and they stop enforcing for some time.

In dubai today, I noticed they have changed the vending machine textures from a generic dr pop to some unique textures similar to the ones from Chongching.

Does anyone know if you can trigger stuyvesant meeting with his daughter SO?
I guess you could use the sieker on Lucy, but I prefer to avoid that item.

You need to get ridof the lead artist Lucy by screwing the exposition (you need to remove some fuses). One of the crew members will alert Lucy of the problems. Therefore, Lucy will go and leave Cornelia alone.

Each WOA game has a giant setpiece in the beginning with a luxurious atmosphere. Something us regular blokes only get to see on tv or in movies. Paris has the fashion show party, Miami has the automotive race with the hospitality suite experience, and Dubai has the worlds tallest building grand opening party. While I like Dubai very much it certainly isn’t as good of a level as Paris or Miami. I wonder if people who say they don’t like it are comparing it to the other two? Paris and Miami are among the best levels in the trilogy, so I could see how this comparison leads you to frown on Dubai.

Other ways to do this is poisoning her drink so she goes to throw up (and sits on a chair after that, looking quite depressed), or by dressing up as a guard and being near Stuyvesant when he’s spying on Lucy and Cornelia. He will then tell you to get rid of her and after that you can just talk to her so she goes away.
I think she can be poisoned SO, there’s a drink in advance but the waiter mixes a drink that goes on top of the other glass lol. I can’t remember which one she actually drinks from.

Those two overlapping glasses drive me insane. It looks so funny. And then you can make a third drink over to the side!

I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this, but in the announcement trailer the elite guards seem to be wearing long robes and turbans instead of the recoloured uniform. Some seem to have red turbans and others black/grey. I’m sure there was a reason they changed this, but it’s a slight shame as I’ve felt the current uniform is very similar to the Chongqing facility guards.

We talked about the Dubai uniforms quite a few times before in this thread. Personally I actually like the change, and it’s actually the Chongqing guards that should look different (as evidenced by some of the challenge pictures).

Dubai is the only map with 3 different Keypad codes. One for staff areas, one for the security safes, and a bonus one for the Sheik’s penthouse bedroom.

I feel like, originally, Dubai had an extra 3rd objective: Find Intel on Alexa Carlisle’s whereabouts. This is all speculation, but considering the Sheik’s safe has a tablet that tells you where Alexa’s helicopter was flying off to at the start of the level – and there’s literally nothing else special or useful about that item – it might have been included as an objective early on.

Interesting. Yes, I wonder why Chongqing guards were changed…

I think that changing the Dubai Elite Guards was really bad for readability in instinct. Would’ve preferred if they didn’t have a hat at all. Same with Chongqing.

Dubai guards look fine to me, Chongqing facility guards are the ones that don’t look right. They should look more corporate security in style, though I guess people might be sick of black suits.

I think at least if one of the guards had like shorts? It’d be better.

Shorts are never good on guards.
Neither are sandals.

I like the outfit of both types of guards in Dubai. Uniformed guards fit in far better at a fancy event than the early version who wore robes.

The low-tier guards in the ICA facility look pretty good. The high-tier ones, however, look indeed way to similar to the Dubai guards. I don’t even know why there had to be two different guard types in the facility

For level balance - you can get a regular facility guard outfit pretty easily right at the entrance security checkpoint and in the courtyard, and unless you restrict their access by adding a higher level guard type, getting around the tier 2 and 3 areas becomes trivial and you can just head straight down.
