I cant believe they didnt hire 50 differrnt bilingual middle eastern voice actors in the netherlands to voice the levels guards

Denmark has a lot foreigners, it’s a multicultural hub, especially Kopenghagen. I don’t know where they were recording voice acting but that was for sure outsourced sound company which have a lot of contracts with different actors. There is a 67 different voice actors only in H3 (64 for H2), including each 3 civilian female/male actors for Hindi, Chinese (2/2), Hispanic (5/3) voices. I guess 2 more each female/male more Arabic accents won’t make such a budget gap.

It actually would because they had to choose between recording more hispanic voices for mendoza and chinese voices and couldnt find the budget for both

Especially notable in that very few companies ever hire the correct hispanic voices. Just like how Britains and Irish and Scottish and Americans and Canadians and Australians all speak English and not one of them sounds the same despite being the same language, each Spanish-speaking country has its own accent and flow and speech, and yet they nearly always cast Mexican voice actors. Which, you know, not necessarily a bad thing, still providing representation to the language, but not the proper region. And while most are ignorant of the differences (and I’ll admit to having been guilty of this in the past), once you know how the accent sounds and it shows up where it shouldn’t, it stands out. Resident Evil 4 takes place in Spain, so why do all those Spaniards sound Mexican? Once you hear it you can’t unhear it. Imagine as a Hitman example that everyone in Dartmoor spoke with Australian accents and you get the idea.

So while budget constraints and such are legit reasons for not really being able to hire the correct actors from the correct region of the world for realism’s sake, I get where @Shade is coming from, and others who have made similar points in the past.

It’s not about realism, because it’s obvious that there is many dialects - and no one shouldn’t have any complains about that. It’s about immersion.

Just like in some realism aspect of gameplay are simplyfied on behalf show real thing and behalf playable and fun, that some immersion aspect also should be simpliefied.

I don’t expect in Mendoza true Argentina voice actors or in Marakesh actors from Marocco which have many french dialects. But having a guards in Dubai or Marocco - sound like a british/americans it put away from immersion. There is a significant diffrence between arabic language from Marroco and Emirates - but that doesn’t matter.

Maybe for people from Columbia that voices sounds like more Mexican, but for people from rest of the world - they won’t spot differences anyway. But I rather prefer fake-arabian voice actor than a british one which is out of place.

Hitman isn’t a documentary, it’s just a game - and like every game should be simpliefied to give fun. I’m personaly a firearms ortodox, but I won’t’ complain that weapons just “looks” like a real one - it doesn’t matter. So please all language ortodox and gramma-nazi - step back :stuck_out_tongue:

All the same, I’d you’re gonna visit a particular country, it’d be nice to hear voices that sound like they are from that country and not just grabbing the next closest thing because it’s slightly easier. Just a hint to IOI for the next game. They have the money now, as we know.

Yes, but these are compromises. And belive me - Marakesh baazzar doesn’t look like this in game, it isn’t even close :stuck_out_tongue: It’s all about simplify things go have at least “taste” of what should be. I was in many Arabic countries and no one sounds british alike, I’m pretty sure y’know :stuck_out_tongue:

Yea the Colombian accents were picked because its what they have but even they noted thats not how Argentinians talk

Well I loved it in Hitman 2 (SA, baaaack then) when NPCs started to talk German and it was funny trying to figure out what they might have been supposed to say :joy:

Funny and not realistic at all, but I still loved the old way when iO really used different languages. Although, as mentioned, more like “let’s try to read what Google translate says” - still a nice touch and only “problematic” for native speakers

anyone else feel this map is overly easy for Showdowns? feels like NPCs dont have particularly complicated patterns compared to other maps

I’ve been messing around with the Dubai mission to see if any opportunities of isolating both Marcus & Carl is possible with different approaches & I may have discovered two new ways to kill them with the personal bodyguards not being an issue :+1: A few things need to be triggered for it to work, but you don’t need to set up the meeting between the two or the mile high drop method/no accidents/no poison/No fusecell. I’ll do some more testing, but I always see people state that the two targets are not the best designed for other unique kill methods apart from the obvious easy methods…

Brand New method i came across while messing around the Dubai mission for a few hours & i found 2 new ways to isolate both Carl Ingram & Marcus Stuyvesant. The Bodyguards for both targets always follow them closely, so there is not much room to play with until now!

How this method/strategy works within my playstyle:

1st Target: Marcus Stuyvesant must be killed first! Carl Ingram’s body can not be hidden in a crate/locker or dumped. I’ll explain in Carl Ingram’s detail in Target 2. To create this window of opportunity to kill Marcus on his own, everything must match up with routes/patterns of the NPC’s walking through The Exhibition room where Marcus & his Bodyguard will eventually enter. At the point where Marcus goes to see his daughter & wants to meet her but can’t, he will leave to carry on his normal route. I wait exactly 1 minute, then i make my move towards the door near The Exhibition & i wait to see where he is located. This is important!!! Because for some reason if you wait near the door to early where you are about to kill him, he will just walk through the door with his Bodyguard right behind him. But if you wait & see where he is located, as you approach the door he enters, you can hear Marcus talk to his Bodyguard & that’s when you take cover on the right side of the door! Marcus should have stopped with his hands on both hips & his Bodyguard will walk to the other side of the door. This creates a gap between both of them & the window of opportunity to isolate Marcus is possible with a quick kill as you close the door so you get an unnoticed kill… Important! Do not drag or touch the body of Marcus. His Bodyguard will be waiting for you & as soon as you move it, he will come out & catch you dragging it. You must wait for 1 minute exactly (i timed this) until you can drag the body and dump into the water on the left side, not the right side as you will be spotted by an NPC in the middle part of the room. Marcus Stuyvesant eliminated like if he disappeared into thin air & you can hear his Bodyguard later in the video looking for him @ the 11 min 23 sec mark :joy:

2nd Target: To get Carl Ingram for a smoke break & the best place to kill him i think, is when he is having a smoke. He only seems to do this if you prepare his food & that’s it!!! You don’t want to speed up the cooking timer or call him directly from the chef’s buzzer. I’ve tested this multiple times & tried every method from killing Carl Ingram in different positions in this area, but his 2 Bodyguards are always close to him. He has to be killed last because with this method you can not hide his body or even dump it as the guard on the outside right always will spot the body being thrown over no matter where you try & i tried EVERY position!!! I also tried killing him inside that lower area with weapons & even the fibre wire. As soon as you kill him from behind, the 2 Bodyguards go on full attack/alert mode. So killing him in that specific area puts them on alert! If you try to kill him after his smoke, they will walk straight towards him & face him as he is leaving. So the only method that works, is throwing a knife i discovered outside that area & you have 1 minute to exit the mission until they discover the body & that’s it!!!

Not a single Huh? What? Hmmm from anyone. You are a Ghost Agent 47. Suit Only/Silent Assassin/No Loadout/No KO/No HUD on Master Difficulty.

These 2 kill methods don’t make you rely on using the banana peel/fuse cell(s)/Mile High Drop/Private meeting from the server room option/accident kills/poison kills & setting off alarms/alerts… The only real problem is the head turning of the staff member in the kitchen store room, entering & exiting the kitchen can be a pain, but i figured a way to ‘‘Ghost’’ past him, plus you have the guard on the outside patrolling where you have to enter the kitchen unseen. So i timed that so i could get in cover right next to the Chefs table…

Agent 47 out :+1:
