Sicken her, KO her, stuff her in a closet, let the ICA find her when it takes back the place, and I’m sure that with a hangover like that she’ll think twice about messing with clones again.
Besides we don’t even know if she still has materials to make more “Valiants”.
All that regardless, it just seems inconsistent with ICA’s typical cold ruthlessness that she wouldn’t have been made a target as soon as it was revealed what she’s done and could still do.
By that logic there’s also no reason why the ICA didn’t ask 47 to gun down everyone in the facility since they’re all involved with Valiant anyway. It would even have been possible gameplay wise without affecting the final rating, since that’s how it works in the train escalation. But then it’s an ET and ET means “only kill the target” (even though here you have to kill them a dozen times).
Not really. None of those other folks were the ones growing these clones, or admitting that they found a way to speed up the process. Valliant was the source, Hei was the brain. To completely eliminate the threat, she would need to be taken out as well, while the rest of their mercs and researchers would just basically be like: “well, I guess I gotta find another job.”
I’m just saying, story-wise, it would make more sense to add her to the target list than leave her off, and since they raised the list up from 1 to 14 in an instant, adding one more for a nice rounded 15 wouldn’t have been a stretch.
The mercs / researchers are witnesses, and a “cold, ruthless” organization wouldn’t take any chances and would only let their assassin get out of that facility alive. Easier to take back the place when there’s nobody to put up any resistance.
Raising the body count to 15 is something my OCD would agree with though.
Perhaps the ICA didn’t want Hei killed because they want to recruit her themselves. Maybe they like the idea of assassin clones, as long as they’re the ones in control.
At the end of the mission, Diana says something like “We have a team on standby to take care of the rest.”
I always took this to mean “47 has taken out the most physically dangerous one(s) here, so now we don’t need to be quiet or deceptive & can send in a larger team to deal with the lesser threats.”
Something along those lines anyway, per Valliant being stated as one of the ICA’s top agents in the brief, etc. Presumably Dr. Hei would be dealt with then, in whatever way the ICA saw fit.
Excellent work, 47. All targets have been eliminated. I know this can’t have been easy… Now get out of there. We have a team on standby to take care of the rest. Your money is being transferred now.
It’s ds43757_missiondone_diana_001 :]
Plays when you’ve killed all targets and Diana tells you to leave.
I always interpreted that as a tram standing by for the actual clean-up and getting the facility back in order, and maybe to drive out the mercs. I never took that to mean they were going to actually kill the rest of Valliant’s crew. Seems obvious now. Good enough.
Who thought this stat was a good idea? The scripted kill is for two clones, so that was always going to be the average. Most wouldn’t bother getting more in there.
Wait, two clones is a scripted event? I thought it could only be one at a time unless the first clone was KOed in there or something. That’s also annoying, because I’m going to have to try that, and if it looks good, I’ll use to do it that way going forward, probably, and that means no clones to crus with the weights.
Then again, that is my chosen method for one of the targets in the Infiltrator, so maybe I can let that ease the desire to diversify the methods and just transfer it to another ET.
As the researcher you can just order both of the clones in the weight area into the sauna at the same time. Then just turn up the heat and block the door like normal. They’ll both die at the same time.
Well, goddamn. The very idea of even trying to do that never occurred to me. As soon as the first clone is in, slam, I do it. I’ll need to try that next time. Maybe I’ll practice in Arcade.
Probably they didn’t count runs where people killed zero for the stat.
Then the “average” could be the mode or median rather than the mean. Or there could have been enough people doing two with the scripted kill that the mean is something like 1.9999 and they rounded it.
How do you manipulate events so Valiant’s clone shoots Pritchard? I’ve only managed the usual end-of-tour discussion, which leads to Pritchard being sent away to a room, but not killed.
I did find a hitmanforum post by Melusca:
(also tried Internet searches, but all I could find that were not methods to accomplish the mission simply were focused on speed or “how to kill clones” in some fashion (before Pritchard meets Valiant, all clones killed at once, etc.))
