Elusive Target #37: EMINƎM vs. SLIM SHADY (1 December - 31 December 2025)

This was my headcanon for this mission. It’s not literally happening. But 47, acting as a therapist, of sorts, (which of course we know he has the knowledge to do) is talking/working Eminem through this to eliminate the “Slim Shady” part of himself.

It’s even, imo, suggested to be the case by some dialogue. E.g. Diana saying to Eminem ‘you still don’t realise this is all in your head’ (or whatever).

Actually, I believe @Olipro’s first theory is correct, especially since this has already happened before (Orson), and that I’ve theorized it as being an explanation for a previous mission (The Disruptor).

Poison is slightly faster than drowning so you can save a bit of time that way, I usually do that whenever I use a durian if I can spare the slot (although the durian trip to the loo isn’t exactly a fast method when you can just drop an oil can and a breaching charge at his feet when he exits the hospital without much trouble).

true, but i had it and just did it.

This actually could have been called

The Undying 2

I actually found the language rather offensive. I know people who talk like that. Every sentence is just laced with that crap and I find it very off-putting - but I’m not the target audience here so whatever.

I have a new favourite line from Diana. I promise this is real and not AI. :joy:

Enjoyed the mission, it’s quite insane and has several scripted kills. Not really that difficult but I prefer that to the bullshit instafails in The Infiltrator. Eminem is a horrible voice actor though lol.

Speedrun from one of the IOI developer showcased during the IOI Briefing stream yesterday.

Panic shot, Oil Puddle, ICA Proximity Micro Taser, and fast interact to exit.

@frote7 you might appreciate

Interesting one, but not really my cup of tea. Too much Fantasy-Stuff in it for my Hitman-Taste. On a level with the Deadly Sins. It’s fine, but just not for me.

To be honest, I was thinking to myself is it an ICA sanctioned target or is it a Freelance hit?

And just ignoring the Scarcrow-in-Arkham-Asykum-esque imagery going on? 47 is (nearly) superhuman but even he can’t traverse dimensions.

Finally got to play this and I really liked it, this might be one of the better celebrities they´ve done in general. When it was first announced I was afraid that it would feel too out of place but at the end it turned out really cool. The surreal elements from the story and atmosphere are not for everyone but personally I liked them, the whole mirror system in particular was great. Gameplaywise It’s good old hitman, I found several opportunities while exploring and multiple ways to pull them off, It’s been too long since I’ve had fun exploring a new mission. If all of the 7DS where like this, that would have been a great DLC.

I only did one playthrough of the mission story though, I’ll play the arcade a couple times to have a better opinion on this but so far It’s been really good. My only complaints so far are, first, the “cannon” kill from the mission story feels underwhelming, and second, Eminem is a terrible actor lol, but that seems to be the standard for all of the non-actor celebrities. Finally, I just can’t fully enjoy this mission knowing that is attached to IO’s most stupid and greedy decision (yes, even more than the Sapienza pack imo) of time limited DLCs; I will keep complaining about that till the day I die.

Don’t get too attached. It’ll probably get nerfed next patch for being too OP.

Alright, replayed a few times now, completed both ET and ETA, think I’ve seen everything there is to see

Surrealism - -
Random disjointed crap -
Can’t really use in Freelancer Variations -
Eminem’s voice acting -
Apart from the Mission Story, all kill methods were incredibly simplistic (put the nitro in the chemistry set… the nitro is only two rooms away. Put poison in spaghetti sandwich. Blah) -
On a similar note, unusually easy compared to the past year or so of new ETs -
They actually put in effort and made changes compared to 7DS (This version adds 89 NPCs) +
Spooky house was kinda nice, not for the mission but as a playable showcase for something a little more horror, like if they ever did Miasma +
Like the previous two ETs, you can eliminate the target without being the one to kill them +

On the whole not for me, I find it to be the worst of all the H3 CelebrETs, probably even including Mr Vegas (Although not sure). I prefer this game when it is grounded in something vaguely resembling reality. I would have liked if they played it straight as an asylum, removing the windows from the surgical wing and turning all the small/side rooms of that area into padded cells (There’s around 6 rooms I saw that would qualify). I get that they wanted to do something funny and whacky this time around to match Eminem’s style and reflect his albums but… maybe they just should have picked someone else better suited to the game in that case?

Not the best Celebrity ET, far from the worst. That title still goes to the Bruce Lee one and its terrible overused area of the Queens suite in Bangkok. By far the worst one.

Enjoyed the aesthetics of the Hokkaido map, and the mirrors were arguably the most interesting gimmick of all celeb ET’'s thus far.

Dunno if it’s been discussed but it seems that the Bomb Ass Dynamite is the strongest explosive in the game, with a decently bigger radius. Interestingly it also seems to be the first(?) item where placing it down is itself a illegal aciton

Oh, so it does not share radius with CX block. That’s good, I’m glad they’ve made it different.

So, I wanted to do a Ninja run on the Slim Shady level..

Few notes:

The starting position is very difficult as the White Ninja will be hostile from the start (as usual).

Didn’t realize Agent Smith wearing a

Black Ninja suit

in the morgue!

Lastly, I did the Godzilla Easter Egg as Eminem had a song named ‘Godzilla’ to see if it triggered anything unique.. it didn’t.
